I was saved by the folks moving to just over the border when I was 4 months old, so I went to school in Royton and got bitten after they did free tickets in the schools. I was safely Blue by the time we moved back over the border. Thank god for that!
Living only a Paul Robinson goalkick away from Hurst Cross, Ashton United would probably be my team of choice. Pity the reserves stopped playing games there.

Okay, with the logo in the bag - I think we're ready to announce a few bits and pieces to the community:
First off - T-Shirts. We're looking to create some OAFC/OWTB tee-shirts with prints on like this one:
They will also include our new logo, which is going to be intergrated in to our image:
We'd be most grateful if anybody would like shirts similar to these to say so, and to also give us some feedback
Cheers,
Rummy.

Bit slow off the mark even in those days and think I am at the back somewhere.
Happy Days and will probably do the same again even slower should we go up.
Older but not much wiser!!!

Is rugby league really a sport? More like a pastime really, along with fishing, darts and whooshing.
Bring back the plastic!!!!!

A true legend indeed. What I remember is the flamboyant appearance, hairstyle and dress sense, but most of all the natural talent he had as a footballer. He taunted the opposition with his tricks and skill, but was strong and could score goals as well. Also what a lot of people forget is unlike today's players, he was usually performing on a muddy pitch, with a heavier ball and defenders who were allowed to kick lumps out of him.
Two words to sum him up.....NATURAL ENTERTAINER
