JJ was always a good player just needed a nod in the right direction.

Personally think he runs himself into the ground every game thats the kind of player he is...but does Shez have anyone to put on to give him a break. In my eyes hes one of our greatest assets...i dont really understand why people are so against him, maybe its because he was over-hyped preseason and they cant come to terms with him not being the best striker in the world:) maybe its he hasnt scored for a while and they only read statistics, but in my eyes these will be the same kind of people who slated Porter last season when he scored 23 saying anyone could have scored them...you just cant win!!! Think one more senior striker (which was the original plan with Ricketts maybe?) to create more competition and allow us to rest one of hughes /davies more and the goals would come back! but we do need better service as well IMO from the midfield an area that does need strenghening...it seems this season we have finally sorted out a fairly young and solid defence, which is a brilliant building block for the future!

That Davies is a BLOODY DISGRACE...how dare he hit the post twice, and the one from 30 yards Tipton and Whitehall would have put that in with their eyes closed!! Davies aint good enough to lace David McNivens boots!!

To be honest i wouldnt have been against him being a squad player but with Shez's reluctance to use subs i would probably say no to him being on the bench too and keep the youth on there instead...i personally feel we often dont give the youth enough chances...maybe they are not ready? i dont go to youth/reserves but take Wolfenden for example hes been nearly breaking through for years now, i feel his time is up and he wont make it but if he had had more games earlier maybe it would have been a different story?

i disagree - warnes legs were going - hes scored one goal and he says himself that his form hasnt been brilliant, maybe because he is getting on a bit? id rather have the youth coming through personally, just wish they would get more than 10 minutes here and there.

Sadly i think players at our level dont move enough because they havent got the brains too, im sure shez would love them to be moving and creating space etc. Movement off the ball is a very big part of the game and can be the difference between what levels you play at. Just look at Shez when he was 39 he could hardly run but he had the brain to make space for himself.

Chester City are my 2nd team but i dont watch them much due to been too lazy to travel there from Sheffield in the past and now Manchester - should watch them more really when i dont get to Oldham, ive been to City this season since living in Manchester, and i used to see both Sheffield teams when living there and a few Hull City games for good measure as one of my mates supports them.

I wouldnt worry about the club being shortsighted im sure they are aware of Eardleys talent... i dont think we will be seeing the back of him to soon. i think hype and expectations have shot through the roof this summer hence the overreactions and overanalysing of all our players this season. We have a good young squad and with a few more additions if Shez can keep it together we should be looking good!

I would beg to differ...i think the players are waiting for the inevitable, the booing at the end...for anyone to suggest there is anything but a negative atmosphere at BP is putting their head in the sand...and this negativity will rub off on the players, we all knew that the ball was going in when it went pinging round the box at the end, including the players, they talk about the fans being the 12th man etc well today we were for the other team, i swear you could feel the relief from some people when the final whistle went that they had something to f***ing moan about!!!

Thats a stupid thing to say, (if i have read it correctly and you are using that as an example that he was bad value for money?). Chris Killen was quality and well worth that but was injured a lot while here! Thats life though not all deals work out, Clarke could break both legs in training on his first day and then yeah the money would have been wasted, but you are also paying that money for a talented youngster who should bang in the goals and be a saleable asset in the future.

leon clarke is a good talented young player - who should score goals. Buying players like that is showing ambition in my eyes, bring him in!

pretty much agree but id release Wolfy, i think however good at football is he is just not good enough for his height...id love to be proven wrong but i think he might be getting in the way of other youngsters progress, hes only a year younger than Davies i think and look at the gulf in talent!! Id give Stam a new contract, hes worth it for when he is fit!Lomax is a good squad player i think but he may want to move on to play week in week out somewhere else, he is definitely good enough to stay in the professional game from what i have seen.

That is my thoughts exactly, ive loved every away game ive been to this season...the home games though are getting tedious. There is just an air of negativity about BP these days, much more so than in the previous 10 years that ive had my season ticket. It wouldnt be so bad if we were awful but we are not actually that bad a team!

To be honest I really dont think the problem is just the moaning at home...it will always happen, its the dire atmopshere. I dont think the players would be bothered about the moaning if we sang their praises every so often when they do good things. Do we even have any player chants anymore? We need songs for the likes of Eardley, Taylor, Davies, etc. We now have a fair number of players contracted for longer than a season so we should be encouraging them, it looks like we are developing a good young side here but you wouldnt think it. I think maybe our expectations shot up a little too high preseason.

Kilkenny everytime, simply because id rather look to the future than the past, loved wellens when he was here hes gone now. After the abuse wellens was getting last game cant see him wanting to come back anyways imagine if he played badly he would be lynched by our fans:)

TBH i wouldnt be surprised if both were to leave in the summer, i think Lids would have to drop further down the ladder if he is to continue playing regularly when he returns from injury and i think Gregan may find it hard to force his way back into the team if we continue our form and im sure if he recovers fully he will have a few years left in him yet.

are you sure there isnt an option for a further year? or maybe we could afford to pay off his contract when it gets down to one year...i like Gregan but as a big earner id rather have someone fit who can play every week taking up the wages.

Matt Murray would be a Grantesque type keeper to bring in wouldnt he? im sure at somepoint he was picking up England youth/under 21 honours? dunno if its plausable we would bring someone with that pedigree in though with our lack of wages but if we offloaf Ricketts especially maybe we will be in with a shout of someone like that!

Im not Lids biggest fan, mainly because he is not my kind of player. It makes me laugh when people get annoyed that he cant beat his man as a winger though. When we signed him i lived in sheffield and spoke to a few sheff utd fans about him and they said all he will do is get the ball out of his feet and whip in a good cross and thats all he has done here to be fair. Cant argue with the stats from last season. I think too many people were expecting him in his Wigan vain of form, and TBH if he was he wouldnt have dropped down to our level. I thought he looked good against Swansea when being used as a substitute when the opposition has tired a bit!
