  1. gotta say for me the first one off the top of my head is guy branston ive always thought the guy was a complete waste of space and then to my horror one day i arrive in the chaddy at 5 to 3 to see that fat lump of lard warming up in a latics top and white boots the swine!!
  2. haha theres never been a more truer word said! To be honest i think we would have stepped it up a gear if it had gone to 2-2. Giddings seems to be getting a lot of praise for going forward, i bought a non-oldham supporting mate along to the game who thought giddings was the weakest player because he was very tentative about getting forward. I thought he stayed back quite a lot but mainly because he was quite exposed on the left with kilkenny roaming the pitch.
  3. yeah mate sound if your at the game tonite and in the chaddy i mite see u around...just about to head to oldham from work now!!
  4. Does that include me Luke? cos if not put him plus 3 methinks:)
  5. Good old Clyde I forgot about him...before his injury that season he was unbelievable!!
  6. maybe Carlo? or was he just fat:) i remember he used to put himself about a bit, good at getting others into the game etc. Please don't shoot me but i always thought Killen was a very good player...obviously far to injury prone like!!
  7. Alcohol and away days...what lovely words luke...im getting excited about the first away game already, who's it against?
  8. ive always hoped Scholes may have thought it be fun to drop down and get us promoted!!
  9. well said, i wish the booing would stop altogether and we would be one of those teams with a set of fans who just gets behind the team constantly from start to finish whatever is being served up on the pitch! I think it is improving slightly since shez has taken over and the optomism is coming back. I dont know about anyone else but does anyone think the reason that some of our fans are quick to turn against the team is due to an over-inflated opinion about the status of our club due to the "pinch me" seasons?...speaking to some fans and listening to a few talk in the pub games etc i get the feeling that some people believe we should still be knocking around in the premiership or at least have a god given right to be in the championship and that we are a lot bigger than many teams we face in this division...hence if we are not battering people or players are cocking up they are quick to get on players backs!
  10. lol yeah i agree with Forbes i thought he was rubbish, but too comical to boo you never knew where the ball might go when he touched it
  11. It may seem a stupid thing to say but i think there are certain people that will certainly be quicker to jump on the backs of one of our black players if they do something wrong. Im by no means saying its a majority of people but i have noticed it happening over the last few seasons.Edwards and Rocastle last season were often getting a lot of unwarrented stick last season when other players were putting in much much worse performances for example.
  12. England - Oldham of course and then Chester as my 2nd team...as my local team went to go and see them a lot when they dropped into non league and the future was looking bleak. Italy - the whole of italian football, its amazing, i just love the culture of it, with all the scandals, their philosophies on how to play the game and their rivalries etc. Im not really into my football reading (as my life contains far to much footy already but if you get a chance there a loadsa good books talking of the history of the italian game with some great stories! I wish they would put the serie A back on channel 4.
  13. i think edwards' performances this season especially before getting injured and the fact that he has pace something we desperately lack have got him the new contract, not just his performance in the last game of the season!A lot of people in my view have given Edwards unwarranted stick i thought he was playing v well before he got injured early on in the season and then never got a chance to win his place back properly.
  14. Lees is there definitely a song like that though about ol' Roger Palmer? or have i been dreamin of heroes of yester year and making up random songs!! its gotta be "when we win promotion", although im probably not the best person to judge, i remember singing Paul Murray songs when Scott Vernon had scored in the last play off season...must have been all the excitement of the prospect of going up, as me Latics Cv consists of 2 relegations so far:) (not sure why ive added a smiley there!)
  15. Get it right Tommy ;) "Roger Palmer Top Banana Shags yer wife and drinks ya lager" Ive definitley heard it somewhere, cos i doubt i made it up, im too young to of seen the guy play!
  16. Ive never heard that chant but id like to, just reading its making me laugh, i dunno if its cos im still drunk from last nite
  17. surely Porter? we wouldnt be anywhere near the playoffs without his goals!!
  18. arent we also joint top scorers in the league? surely we must be putting away some chances then:)im sure more objective fans would agree that it is our poor defensive errors which are leading to us not being in the top 2!
  19. I dont understand this having a go at porter rubbish...some Oldham fans will never be happy FFS the man has got 20 goals this season and without him here we would not be in the playoffs let alone have been challenging for automatic a month or so ago...at the start of the season without porter we were nothing!! He hasnt been playing for a while either so it might take time for him to get match fitness...and without his goal yesterday we would have lost! Why dont we have a go at the God that is Paul Warne for missing that easy 1 on 1 which would have sealed the victory? Lets get behind all those putting on the blue shirt for the final 5 and hopefully 8 games!
  20. Id have to support the mighty mighty Chester City:) They've always been a 2nd team as i grew up quite near there...However they are even more likely to go bust than us or move to somewhere like Runcorn Widnes or Fflint. Just like at Boundary Park there never seems to be a dull moment at Chester, nothing is ever easy. They seem to have a new squad of journeymen players every month of the season and they must be one of the few clubs in the football league where most of even its diehard fans do have strong alliegence to other teams, like Liverpool, Everton,Man Utd etc.
