I normally sit in the Chaddy (and make a noise when I get excited Diego), but I've got my mates season tickets in the Ford Stand Upper for the Crewe game, which shouldn't feature too many scary away fans. I think I'm coming round to the idea that the Crewe match is a good idea.

I've been a member of this site for around six months now and I feel I know you lot well enough to value your opinions, so............. At what age do you think it is right to take your son to a league game at Boundary Park? (My lad, Harry, is Five & a half). He's been suitably brainwashed since birth (we had Chaddy Owl at his christening 5 years ago), and he is well aware that all the glory hunting little gits at his school support ManUre or Citeh because it's easy to (well, maybe not in Citeh's case) and he is proud to be a Latics fan. I've dragged him in the souvenir shop several times and he's on his 3rd shirt but I've held back from actually taking him to a game. I've witnessed other harassed fathers with their kids struggling to see the game 'cos of trips to the bog or the food counter and trying to get their kid to face the right way etc. I've nearly taken him a few times but keep talking myself out of it. So what do you think? I will take on board your views. All help appreciated. Ta.

As you can see by my stats, I don't post often. but this drum issue always gets me at it. The poll does clearly show that the drum isn't wanted, so how about one of the trigger happy mods (Acky) forwarding it to that nice Mr. Hardy for his information? I've nothing whatsoever against the actual drummer, any Latics fan has something going for them as far as I'm concerned, but I can't see him jacking it in without some official request from OAFC. I did mention on the previous post about this that he could maybe sit next to Alan Hardy for a few games or be placed in the roped off sections of the paddock........or maybe up one of the floodlights.

Our beautiful game really is all about opinions isn't it. I thought George McVitie was a very decent player for us. (Right winger if I remember correctly). He scored a very good goal away at Bristol Rovers on BBC Match of the Day over the Easter period when we stuffed Southport home and away over the same weekend. Those results sorted the season out for us and unless my memory is playing me up (again) we won the title by one point?????

Glynn Snodin. I abused him something shocking when he was with Everton (from close quarters 'cos I was in the paddock at the time), then he signed for us and I must admit I thought he had a good attitude and did a decent job.

I think it's rather sad that Alan Hardy, with all his years experience at Latics, hasn't got the common sense to put some control over the drummer. To lose several season ticket holders of 7/8 years standing is pretty careless. It's not like we have a waiting list for season tickets! Hardy obviously thinks the drum helps the atmosphere, and maybe it does. But how hard can it be to sit the drummer and his mates somewhere else, perhaps in the corners or even the taped off bit of the paddocks? (Or maybe sit next to Alan Hardy for a game or two). My sympathy lies with Rowzed, although I think he is being a little harsh on Latics if he thinks they could have withheld his address from the police.

I'm really impressed with what TTA's have done for us. This is a great signing. My source in Birmingham tells me Cardiff, Ipswich and Southampton were all sniffing round him so we've obviously offered him a decent deal. Apparently, Kilkenny had a bust up with Bruce in Germany and refused to go on as sub for the last five minutes of a game.They've kissed and made up but Kilkenny is looking for a permanent move in January (hopefully to us), as he's sick of being constantly overlooked. It does show that he has the potential to spit his dummy out but you do need some players with attitude IMO and I'm sure Shez & Co can handle him.

Does the poll at the beginning of this thread count for nothing? Over 60% of us don't rate the drum, regardless of the personalities involved. If the LDB is to continue, (and I can grudgingly put up with it), how about he compromises even further and just drums to start some chants. That way, his blistered hands should heal up too. Everyone's a winner.
