  1. Back on my honeymoon (wow, that feels weird to type, the marriage was over before we'd even paid off the credit card bill! Ahhhh, the memories of young and reckless, or should that be feckless, love....) we did the flight over Grand Canyon in an 8 seater plane, flew over Hoover dam, and then went on a little coach trip into the canyon and had a BBQ at a walapie (spelt phonetically as I've no idea!) Indian reservation. That was pretty awesome.

Edit.. It's Hualapie. I wasn't so far off.

  2. It is pretty obvious to me a replacement has already been lined up.

I would imagine Wes was one of our top earners.

If a replacement has been lined up then fair do' and it makes all of this moot.

And if we get rid of our top earners every single year and replace them with cheaper then we will end up with a full team earning peanuts. And if u pay peanuts, you get monkeys. And to misquote Alan Hansen, you won't win anything with monkeys.

  3. We have a player that won player of the year. Well liked at the club. He decides to drop down a division because we wouldn't match terms that Shrews offer.

We then have to go out and actively search and possibly pay for another player to replace him. We don't know if the new player will fit into the team, (or dressing room). Just because a player has done well at another club doesn't mean he'll be a success here. Recent examples being Rooney, Feeney, etc etc......

In my opinion, this is just a poor poor decision. Just hope it doesn't bite us in the ass when we can't find a replacement and Winchester is getting battered all over the park........

Our club is starting to become a really unfunny joke.

  4. This sort of sums up how detached I think the England players are - from the last World Cup. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/7839668/England-v-Algeria-Wayne-Rooney-criticises-fans.html

I'd love them to be able to play in a way that fires the imagination but I think they reach a point where a successful World Cup campaign is one where they get a cameo in the Nike advert.

I saw that as a player that was frustrated due to being beaten. If anything that shows he's hurt by the booing, which shows he cares in my opinion. If he trudged off like he didn't give a :censored:, that would be more of a concern?

  5. The thing is, it's not really the players fault that they earn extortionate amounts of money. I put it to every one of you that if you were offered that cash to do your job then u would take it. Also, it's not the players fault if their clubs pull them out of friendlies, they pay the wages. And thirdly, I can't say I have ever seen an England game and thought, Johnny Cashbag there isn't playing very well, it must be because he earns a disgusting amount and he has no national pride? Four. It's not the players fault that the games aren't on terrestrial TV, blame Murdoch.

And what exactly is self glorification? Wanting to be the best player in your given position and wanting the adulation of thousands? THATS THEIR JOB!

I just don't get it. Yeah ok, Ashley Cole cheated on the lovely Cheryl. He's a grade one bell end just for that in my eyes, but it doesn't mean he doesn't want to win the World Cup. Rio Ferdinand owns a restaurant. Ok, he's flush with cash and it's a good investment, doesn't mean he ever gave less than 100% for England. Wayne Rooney has had a hair transplant. He doesn't like being bald and can afford it. He doesn't :censored: out of heading the ball though?

Come on fellas, I don't think it's the players that are lacking in national pride. I think it's the fans.

  6. Sly and Cesky. I don't get it. Why the 'detatchment' from the English team? What does supporting a lower league team have to do with anything? Does that mean if we were in the premier league and had an international then you'd be a fan again? What about a bit of national :censored:ing pride? The only attachment you have with Oldham Athletic is that (presumably) you were born here. And I'm also presuming you were born in England? Just because we are too :censored: (yeah I said it) to have Internationals in our team doesn't mean you shouldn't follow them. That's just bitterness.

  7. We are in an age of instant success at football clubs, especially at the top, that, along with EU commission rules, means things wont change. The FA aren't in a position to compell clubs to have nationality based players, it's ilegal. And the top clubs will be gainst it.

How is it illegal? The FA run the league. It's their rules. If they impose rules they have to be followed.

  8. Broady does not have a team. He reports into Jenny. I suspect Broady has done a great job, but would be surprised if a deal this big did not include Jenny, and the CEO. Guess we will find out.

So big congrats to the Commercial Team, and all concerned. Assume the promotion is all part of that.

I love my Jenn-ey. She smells like cig-a-rettes.

  9. On a side note if you have an unrestricted view in the chaddy and they sell beer. What's the difference?

Last time I went in the Chaddy I managed to avoid the stantions but had Fellaini and David Luiz sat in front of me. *

    * no I didn't that's a lie. I never seem to avoid the stantions when I sit in the Chaddy.
