  1. No it doesn't. Unless you have a reputable source to confirm otherwise. The RRE small section was deemed to be less than 15% of our capacity (10638) (so less than 1595) which is why we had to give the Scousers the big section for the cup games.

Wow. You've just written a post to prove Robs quote of 1600 was wrong by 5. 5!!!!!!!! And you were then disproved by Robs quote from the official site anyway. Maybe you should have ended the post with ner ner ner.

The club whine that attendances are dwindling yet still piss fans off by moving them when they've already made their choices and paid for their tickets. They have a right to feel put out.

Also, while I'm on my soapbox (yes, I've had a :censored: day!) starting replies with 'Yawn' kinda implies your disinterested in what's being said, as well as making a mockery of the whole idea of a forum.

"Forum - a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged."

  2. So where do we go from here? Zero has put a lot of good ideas forward and Lags is very passionate about the whole thing BUT like them or not we still have a Trust that is supposedly doing something even if we're not sure what it is. Someone on the other thread suggested a meeting/team of trust members plus fans that could get together and barnstorm it out. I like that but would it just lead to a bigger trust? It's all getting a bit animal farm.... I wish I could have got to the meetings tonight. Wouldn't have had a clue what they were on about but it would have been enlightening!

  3. Come on lets examine my opinion and ideas for change... and point out exactly where its just a personal beef with Barry....

This is the first posts from quite a detailed thread on the subject where I dared to spout my piece. The floor is yours....

This is a really good post BUT it seems to me that you have all the ideas but want somebody else to go and do it. Well who? Me? Why should I? Why should I put the time and effort into doing something that you can't be arsed doing?

Truth is I don't have what it takes. I'm far from unintelligent but I don't have the gumption for taking on the trust and remoulding it into what you think it should be. The only person that can do that is you. And if you did I'd be right behind you.

And yeah its one of the reasons why I won't be going tonight and telling everyone that they are doing it all wrong. It would probably result in a kickin. Its all about how big your bollocks are and not how right you are... More the shame. This has been proven throughout discussion on here. Everyone has to "man up"....

    I'm a lover not a fighter :D

And while we're at it I call bollocks on this one too. Nobody would resort to fighting or throwing punches at a trust agm. Jesus it's not Ukrainian parliament for heavens sake! If it makes you feel better I will personally come along and sit next to you at the meeting and make sure nobody throws a punch at you. Except Rummy. I get the impression he might be a bit of a handy lad so let's not upset Rummy or the deal is off ok?

Joking aside, I think Lags is right in saying if you want to change things then join up, come along, and make yourself heard. You may be surprised, people may actually listen to you. It could be one of those tub thumping revolutionary moments that you see on the TV. Like minded converts carrying you round on their shoulders chanting your name!

Imagine if Martin Luther King wrote a letter to a few mates saying "I have a dream. I was thinking of organising a rally and telling everyone about it and starting a revolutionary movement that would change history but I'm watching TV with the kids that night so someone else do it. Good luck, MLK." Don't think it would have gone far.

    Zeroes for President!

Edit..... See, I can't even work the bloody multi quote system. I'd be useless come the revolution.....

  4. Why would people want to 'black up' though?

It isn't really funny is it?

    Depends on the fancy dress....

Hi mate, nice habit, who you supposed to be?

    Whoopi Goldberg

That's :censored: mate, you look nowt like her, she's black for a start

I know but blacking up would offend someone apparently so I just look like a tit dressed as a nun.....

  5. I'm actually starting to think relegation wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Now I wouldn't know where to start looking and can't really be arsed, but, if I was a betting man, and I'm not saying I am, I wouldn't mind betting that teams that go down come up with more fans.

Relegation means the team is more than likely playing :censored:e football and that invariably leads to dwindling attendances. Hopefully (and this is where my theory could fall on its arse), the following year, the team would be strong enough to go back up. A promotional season, albeit in the 4th tier, would mean better football, a positive vibe about to the place, and hopefully the town, reasons to go watch the match, hence higher attendances. More than likely, these new, or returning fans, will come back for the start of the new season, maybe even buying season tickets? A full house (ok, optimistic) - a better crowd creates a better atmosphere which could be the catalyst for a good start to the season, which breeds confidence, which leads to winning more games and so on and so forth.

I think we're in a rut. Not just on the pitch, but at the club as a whole. The disappointment of a relegation could be outweighed by the furore over a following promotion?

Or am I just talking bollocks?

  6. So a quick gratuitous plug and with a very tenuous Latics link....

Me and my partner have just taken over The Royal George Hotel in Greenfield. Well, I say we, she's the tenant/landlady, I'm just her bitch really!

Anyway, stripping one of the bedrooms this morning and I found this written on a wall.....

Decorated by Kenny Clements, 30th January 1992.

I wonder?! Could it be THE Kenny Clements from back int th'day? I do remember a match programme from the early 80's that had an interview with him, in which he said he painted cartoons on his kids bedroom walls. Nice photo of him stood in said room too, resplendent with that magnificent moustache. Wonder if he branched into the world of painting and decorating?

Anyway, like I said, shameful plug. Feel free to pop in for a pint and a bite to eat in the restaurant!

    Oh when the blues!!!
