You've got Fold the Club playing in 3 seperate positions at the same time; that can't be possible surely, unless they're brothers like the Wallace's or the Toure's?

  2. If it transpires that Barry had significant involvement in the Evans deal then his position as a representative of the fans at board level is untenable. Corney values his input at board level and may wish to keep him on in that capacity but Barry hasn't spoken for me as a fan for a long time.

As a member of the trust I do not see the chairman having any credibility regarding Trust Oldham matters and should now step aside and allow someone with the long term future of the club at heart a chance to lead the trust.

Any person who has a position of representing the average fan at a significant level within the club or the trust should have taken note of the overwhelming sense of unease with pursuing any contact with Evans, Barry has failed to do that and as such should for the good of the trust and the club step down as chairman of the trust and relinquish any notion of being a fans representative.

Spot on really Beag; couldn't have put it better myself and sums up my thoughts succinctly and eloquently on this matter.

  3. Part 2.

To have grossly misunderstood the feelings of seems to be a decent quota of the fan base; and that of the wider public, tells you all you need to know about the people responsible for the decision making at our club.

If you're clearly going to do it, then do it - and reap what you sow. Supporter unrest, sponsor pull-outs and all the others, reap it.

The decision to go down this route in the first place IMO shows them to be incompetent, out of touch morons. Their change of heart does little to dispell that does it?

Hopefully, the right decision is reached in the end. But Jeez, talk about an awful decision making process, and a truly masterful way of dragging our club through the :censored:, causing supporter in-fighting and ruining a carefully worked at squad teamspirit.

    Bravo OAFC officials, Bravo...

  4. Would seem that the heat is too much for us.

That being the case, it is inexplicable how this could not have been determined 6 weeks ago after the Sheffield United story and the smaller version with ourselves that led to a club denial.

In a strange way I feel more embarressed now than if we'd gone ahead and signed him. Not signing him / signing him is a statement of intent and we look like a strong club. Clearly wanting to sign him, but pulling out because it got a bit messy manages to look morally dubious but also a bit pathetic.

What an absolute shambles from the people responsible for running our club this has been.

Not that I had a huge amount of time for SC & BO before this :censored:, now? Jeez.

  5. A cluster:censored: of the highest order.

Off to bed now, 1st day back to work tomorrow.

Here's hoping tomorrow brings a U-turn decision on this whole sorry mess of a decision and we can focus all of our energy into bringing about a change in the Trust, in our 'fans rep' and other such issues this whole thundercunt of a mess has brought back to the surface again.

  6. The percentage figures on the vote show people are coming around to the idea, it was about 97% last month, now it's 79%.

I can't see that this won't go ahead? They got backlash and emails last month, what did they think would be different this time?

No, it just means more people who's opinion is the polar opposite to mine have logged on and decided to vote and clicked Yes. Not that people are changing votes and 'coming round to the idea'

  7.

Were they not expecting a furious backlash?

Smacks of further incompetence from the board..

    Again. Spot on.

I mean really. FFS, what did they expect.

Question: we now don't sign him and back-track. Damage still done no? SC, BO and the rest of the board have sullied the club as it is?

But - I so hope they back-track, U-turn or whatever the hell you want to call it...

  8. Well, hard to see how that Journo is party to such info, so its a big IF - if that's true - Johnson should resign. Then lodge a case against the club for forcing him into that position.

So; it's rapidly becoming clear why the atmosphere around the club and performances on the pitch dipped so drastically. Been in discussion for 4 weeks? 4 weeks ago our form nose-dived? Im pretty certain 2 + 2 will equal 4 in this instance.

  9. As I expected, a balanced and well constructed blog.

And it mirrors so much of what I feel.

Dropping my username; like you say Mark; i'm Rob the Oldham fan, to many people.

Tomorrow, that gets tarnished with my club signing CE.

This is such a :censored:e situation for us fans.

We've not been consulted in any way, shape or form; and it seems its a simple choice: like it or lump it.

My support has been brought into question, and I hate those club officials for putting me that position.

I've been mulling over my decision all day, And I've come to it.

I'll be waiting for tomorrow's confirmation but i've come to my decision and the choice officials from my club have made me come to...

  10. As I posted on the other thread, if this signing goes ahead, whether you agree or not just remember that Owen was party to a decision to outright lie to the faces of Latics fans.

Your post on the other thread is spot on, as is this one.

The same Barry demanding people come down to BP is the same Barry who is a key figure in signing CE.

  11. If our home attendances drop any more, it will be the end of Latics as we simply could not survive with any less through the gates. So, if people are being genuine on here in saying they will not attend matches if we sign him (rather than just being drama queens) then we should not sign him - it's a simple economic decision.

I'm hoping this is all media hype but, if Corney, Owen et al have called this one wrong then they may subsequently be responsible for the death of our club.

This season might not be too bad for the club; income wise. A big chunk of the posters on here saying that they will not be attending whilst Ched Evans is at the club (myself being one of those) are season ticket holders. Our money is already with the club; and legally, we can do nothing to get it back.

Yes, there are obviously pay on the day fans also saying they will not be attending; but i think (stand by to be corrected) its mostly ST holders?

So, this season the money is already in for. Some more empty seats to go with the host of others? Possibly; unless STs are given away. But, As for the next season though; wow.

  12. It was really lax of his legal team not to just tell the court all the things on his page, because if they'd done that he'd have been released straight away and given a lift home for his trouble

Aye LL, i mean it was hardly going to be the most balances of websites; being run by his family and friends, but - have to say I was pretty amazed at the content and what and how it's being said.

Even more sad, is that some people on here, twitter and out in the real word of non-message boards / none social media, are actually using that website to form their own opinions on the case and therefore claiming he's inncent beyond all reasonable doubt?

Its a website created by him, his family, friends and supporters. Its not exactly going to be anything other than overtly pro-Evans is it?

Having read his own take on how the night panned out - under i think the 'key facts' banner on the left hand side of the page, his own defence; paints him as a horrendous human being. And that's from himself.

Oh, and members of his family (a cousin and 2nd cousin) as well as friends from Sheffield and Rhyl were responsible for naming his victim via social media and emcouraging a witch-hunt. She's since had to move house / address 5 times and have her name changed several times. Her parents haven't seen their daughter for over a year as a direct result.

    Nice.

Going to massively help other rape victims come forward, knowing that people will name and shame them - the victim - on social media isnt it?

In trying to defend him; Evans and his supporters have hugely harmed future rape cases even being brought forward.

  13. Clayton spent time with the girl beforehand and it could have been reasonable for him to think that consent was given. Ched walked in and straightaway wanted sex. The prosecution did not make a case for either of them being an accessory to the other. It was a case of trying them both seperatley for rape. At the hearing as to whether Ched could appeal, the Judge felt the jury's decision was reasonable.

I've read most of the Ched Evans website today; just to see what is being said on there.

I read whilst on the loo having a :censored:.

Quite apt after reading it i'd say...

  14. If he hasn't and he's a man who sticks by what he says. I suspect he has no choice but to resign

Said the same on text to my Latics supporting best mate: if LJ hasn't had a say / final say on this, I don't see how he can do anything other than resign?

And if he has been involved with this; well - Lee Johnson has gone lower down in my estimations than a snakes ballsack. Due dilligance my left arse cheek.
