  1. Not knee jerk for me. Gave it some thought before he was linked the first time, more thought when he was in talks and there's no way I'll be giving the club my money or support whilst there's a convicted and unrepentant rapist on the pitch or even on the books.

Please LJ, SC, BO or whoever else...if it is us then don't ruin this club for so many of us.

    Unfortunately; this for me too.

  2. Ex Burnley so would have lived up this way earlier in his career. Think he's actually Scottish though?

Think he was on loan and it turned into a perm move to Burton from Burnley?

Chunky build; bordering on the weighty i'd say* Winger rather than striker i think...

.* say's the beer bellied poster!!!

  3.

    Speaking of which...

They were talking on twitter and I found this on Schmeltz's profile:

    - Sidney Schmeltz Official Movie.
He looks pacey, bright & lively on the ball & a direct runner who looks to make things happen in that footage.

I think we should sign him up...

  4. Whoever turned the Poleon deal from a loan to a perm move needs looking at. If that was LJ then you can't blame SC if he doesn't give him more funds to get another in. If SC did the deal and made it a perm one then he really should be looking at ways and means of supporting LJ.

We spent cash on him and his wages will be decent no doubt. Hopefully if they can get him really fit in this break he could contribute something infront of goal. I can't see us having the cash for anyone proven to provide goals.

    Yep.

If it was LJ who pushed for the actual transfer rather than the loan, it looks to be; at this stage, one of, if not the, poorest decisions he's made transfer wise.

IIRC at the time of the signing, LJ was quoted as saying he was a work in progress, who if they managed to "polish" would bring in the club a big return on the investment they'd made. He used Jonson Clarke-Harris as an example of what could be done IIRC.

It looks pipe dream stuff ATM though unfortunately. Unless something drastic happens, i can only see £100K fee + wages having been thrown down the :censored:ter on Poleon.

To be a success; he needs to add most; if not all of these to his very limited game skills he has at present:

    Touch

    Awareness

    Composure

    Finishing

    Passing

    Jumping / Spring / Heading

    Decision Making

    Attitude

    Maturity

It might come. Add most, if not all of those to what he already has - basically pace and low centre of gravity - and he's half a chance.

But - essentially; its a complete project. We'd have had to do exactly the same if we'd have signed a sprinter like Dwain Chambers: basically teach a fast man how to play football.

Its a project. A long project. And one i'll be amazed if works...

  5. West Brom should never had got rid of Steve Clarke; Pepe Mel and Alan Irvine have been poor replacements. Tony Pulis might just be the type of manager to see them over the relegation line though; i think it's a logical choice in their current position.

Pardew to Palace? Doubling his wage; huge bonus if he keeps them up, transfer funds in the window and fans who respect and support him already......nah; fecked if I know why he's leaving?!?!?!?

Seriously; he's done really well to stay in the Newcastle job for as long as he has. Ashley has been very supportive considering the fans protests and the like. Quite clever too with the long contract offer too - sure it was packed full of clauses to protect Newcastle; but - has meant they've got a reported £2.5 million compensation from Palace for Pardew. Clever stuff.

Newcastle need a strong personality to go into that job. The side's decent enough; Sissoko is a stand out, and Ajose Perez looks a prospect. But - as has always been the case, the fans expectations up there are unbelievable; waaaay above their actual achievavble or historical abilities. A strong and almost arrogant character is needed for that role: someone like a Frank Rijkard (spl) maybe?

Anyhow - tis the season: the managerial merry-go-round begins...

  6. Ajose is on loan from the Circus, AKA Leeds Utd isn't he?

Was it a 6month loan to Crewe; so therefore is it up at the start of January?

If it is, yep, i'd agree - would be a decent signing if the right terms could be agreed.

With all we have left, think it's possibly time for the now-fit Amari Morgan-Smith to be given a little run up top and see how he does...

  7. He's clearly the resident Christmas troll, I'm pretty bored so don't mind having a little nibble back.

"Alan" has certainly started to mix it up on here since his arrival.

I'd go further in saying some stuff, but - i don't want him to accuse me of bullying him; my fragile little emotions wouldnt be able to take it again...

  8. Definitely not! All about opinions football. When he went, I said he'd never do anything after Latics - and he certainly won't do anything for us now - lightweight and too easily bullied - always was but his pace got him away from people for a while.

Sorry, are you talking about Chris Taylor there?

Never do anything after leaving Latics? And wouldn't inprove us if he were to join?

    Really?

Well. Where to start in correcting you on the errors of your post. Where. To. Start...

  9. A :censored: that would've still scored a hat trick last week.

Honestly, i'm not sure his fecked knees would have got him into the positions he used to find himself in, to tap one in off his left arse cheek after Warne or Liddle put it on a plate for him.

We've already Forte on the books with shagged knees, who we can't manage to get out on the pitch for 2 games in a week; and alledgedly can't get him training at full tilt week in; week out.

We don't want, nor can we afford a 2nd one; especially in such a key position.

I believe we do need another body in upfront. I think a "Porter-esq" player is a decent shout for the type of player who would compliment what we have already. But not the actual Chris Porter.

He's now a pale shadow of the player we or Motherwell had. His knee's have gone; and what little 'pace' he did have; which wasnt much as it was, has totally gone now. He can't get fit and stay fit, and he'd be a poor signing due to that. Add into the fact he's a huge thundercunt, and its a huge No from me.

    Alternatives?

I'm not a scout, not my job to find a solution, but its not Chris Porter...

  10. "Fash" was a huge thundercunt as a player.

He was a thundercunt in his TV appearances after he retired.

And - it seems he's now a bigger thundercunt than he was back then with the passing of time.

Gibson's piece is spot on. Sensational filmaking; and the angle they clearly wanted was gleefully supplied by messers Vinne & Fash - i didnt really believe a word they said; turns out i was correct to do so.

Shame. A 'proper' Crazy Gang film would have been a cracking watch. This wasn't it...

  11. All about opinions, its difficult though, who will come in though Etheridge/Kenny both lost the managers faith in no time at all, would you prefer a loan then ? All im reading on here is we need a goal scorer from most people, Id rather any money if any is spent at the other end of the field.

If - magically, teams will take James Dayton & David Mellor off our hands, plus Tidser going back to Rothrum....IMO, that should be enough to secure both a decent League One Keeper and Striker? Even more so if Jabo and DJ dont have their loans extended.

If one of the " assets" leaves aswell, we'd be easily able to secure players to come in for the 2 key positions we need - as you say; striker and goalkeeper

  12. Poleon is the major one.

If LJ and his team can do the unimaginable and turn him into a footballer who can actually play football, it'd be like a cracking January signing.

He has the pace, and body strength via the low centre of gravity...if they can teach him to kick a ball properly and actually start to play the game; we'd suddenly have a very useful forward player on our hands...

  13. Philliskirk might run around a little bit. But he doesn't actiallu get stuck in. He's the weak link in the team at the minute in my opinion. Loses the ball too much, Not the best passer and slows us down, he's weak and doesn't score or assist many.

People will disagree cos of who he is and who his dad is etc.

If it's a choice... Johnson wins hands down, 100%

    I'd play

    Rachubka

    Wilson

    Wilson

    Dieng (elokobi will probably play)

    Mills

    Winchester

    Jones

    Tidser (Kelly if fit)

    Forte

    Johnson

    Ibehre

Edit: I do think philliskirk is more effective away from home!

    I'm calling it. Bull:censored:.

    There. Called it.

    Bull:censored:.

  14. I'm with NewBlue

Chubs can't be held responsible for this dip in form; but nor can he lay claim to having a huge hand in our unbeaten run.

He's been at fault for far too many conceded goals to be labelled solid - in fact he's anything but solid from shots from distance. His decent & quick distribution, and his (semi) vocal organising shouldnt mask over his overall average to below average 'Keeping IMO.

Anyway, the management team / LJ have seen it just like most of us have too, and looked to replace him. For whatever reasons; that replacement didnt work out. They'll hope the next one works out slightly better, as - again, Chubs does need replaceing...

  15. Dont think elokobi started and kelly played. But I'd always play two holding midfielders away from home. Its not negative but allows you more opportunity to have the ball.

Don't let BP1960 see you post that - 2 holding midfielders? He'd have an eppy!!!

    FWIW: i'd go similar...

Chubs (until a replacement comes in again)

    Kusunga

    Elekobi

    J Wilson

    Mills

    Dieng

    Jones

    Winchester

    Johnson

    Forte

    Philliskirk
