rate him, one of the best keepers we've had at the club for years.... good luck to him.
you serious?

Jesus, Pompey really are in trouble aren't they! He was incredibly average (i'm being generous aswell) for us and there's no way he's good enough for the championship.

Yep, 0-0 or 1-1 I think. We'll have a few good chances early on and go 1 up. Then the play will slow down and they'll get one from nothing just before half time. Second half will be a non-event. This happenes everytime we play a team at home that on paper we should be beating relatively confortably. Dickov's team don't look like the sort to fall into this trap but i'll believe it when I see it.

In the context of "he's a league one keeper" he's meeting expectations. There is room for him to improve though.
I still think that there's a communication issue between Brill and his back 4. In the two games I've seen this season he still doesn't come for crosses that I would expect a decent keeper to be coming for and this does lead to panic and confusion in front of him.
He's first choice on merit and has made some excellent saves. He could become a better keeper though.
He's still very young for a keeper. He's got the potential to be more than just a decent league one keeper.

He aint done anything dodgy for about 10 months.
Exactly. Time for people to move on now!

Give me a 1-0 win any day! Weren't we all slagging the charlton fans off last week for being over-confident? Let's not do the same! I personally can see it being a draw. Its the sort of game that every season we expect to win but usually struggle. Hopefully this team is different and we'll beat teams that we should do at home. Only time will tell...

and that is the problem in a nutshell.

Get yourself a Sky+ HD box and your life will be complete. Once you've watched sport in HD there really is no going back!

I think we should get rid of it by the way.

The poll doesn't make sense. The two options are keep it or repair it. Isn't that the same thing?

I hope they catch the little s who did it.

Does anyone know how bad it actually is??

Right i've not read the rest of this thread but i've just seen the incident on the football league show. For a start, it wasn't even a foul, let alone a second yellow. The charlton bench jumped up and imo influenced the ref to send jarret off. Jarret did not "boot" the ball at parkinson, it was a little tap, it had no power on it whatsoever. So for him to say "what if it had a lady in the crowd" is utter bollocks.

I think i've got a serious case of getting-carried-awayitis. Anyone else caught this infection?

I had a dream last night that we won 1-0 with a goal in the first half from dean furman. I was pretty gutted when i woke up!
Well, i wasn't far off!

A quality result, even though it sounds like we could and maybe should have won!

I don't think the defence is playing so well that Gregan wouldn't be able to just walk back in.
The goals we conceded at Tranmere and Scunthorpe weren't great from a defensive point of view (especially Scunthorpe were M'voto and Jarrett were less than rock solid)
Notts County also had a good few chances and the defence was far from faultless clean sheet or not.
It doesn't matter anyway as Gregan is not fit, but I think he will be straight back in when he is fit as he is a far superior player to the others mentioned.
Well in the end the decision will lie with Dickov, as he is the one who has said that players will have to fight for their place just like Taylor is having to. As lets be honest, a fit and in-form Chris Taylor would be in the team.
-
If Gregan was fit he wouldn't just be in the squad he'd be playing as Captain.
There's absolutely no way either Hazell, Jarrett or M'voto would keep a fit Gregan out of the team, he is different class to all three as last season proved.
I disagree. No player, not even gregan, has the right to just walk into the team if the team is playing well. If the defence starts to concede goals then yes, gregan will get back into the team and deservedly so.

Brill is a better keeper, as he is now proving.
