And don't automatically assume resits is the best way forward. Have a look at what's interesting through clearing first - if you want to go to Uni that is.

As Pawel Abbotts self proclaimed #1 fan; a player who was big on first touch & linking play surely you must be able to see that Lewis has an excellent touch, close control and technical ability. What Id say he has lacked is application at times........

Now that appears to have been sorted out by the new regime; were starting to see what he can do. But a lack of ability has never been the problem for Lewis.

The point is that, just because you make a profit on a transaction does not make it necessarily a good piece of business.

But in my opinion, getting money for abbott is a good piece of business. It might not be the opinion of everyone else but there you go.

But that's a bit of a nonsense when you factor in signing fee, wages, etc. It's all about the player's current value. Although, many on here seem to think a striker who suffered a serious injury and still managed 13 goals in an awful side where no other player could bag more than 3, is worth sod all.

Many people seem to forget the amount of chances pav missed! He was just as bad as parker at one on ones but no-one ever mentions that. With the amount of chances he had, to score any less than 13 would have been terrible! I think i should be worried now, i just slagged sir pawel off, death threats could be coming my way!

I think what Ackey might mean is something along the lines of....

 

Imagine you have a lottery ticket that you bought for a pound, and has three wining numbers giving you a prize of £10. If I buy that ticket off you for a fiver, you make four pounds profit. Cool, but is that really a good bit of business?

Whether he went for a tenner or he went for 15k, to get any cash at all for him was good business.

Twice in four years the Donkey Lashers have been dismissed as relegation fodder look where they are now! and who tipped Bournemouth to go up last year? Or Southend, Luton, Colchester and Scunny out of this league in recent years? Whilst I agree that it is a longshot - you can never say never. A lot thought we'd struggle in 06/07 yet we made the play-offs, playing in the middle of the season some of the best football we've seen in 15 years. Who knows?

Exactly! Fair enough, it's likely that we won't be challenging for promotion but to dismiss us (or anyone in this league) completely is wrong. Talk about a sore loser!
