  1. A good win aswell, they had a very good win at stevenage on saturday and would be confident on a result tonight, but we went their and sounds like we played well  we came under some pressure at the end but stood firm! we shouldve got something out of saturday, won tonight and at orient and walsall, we are playing better away from home so hopefully we can carry it on and get something at tranmere where we have done well in the last few years! KTF

yes, great confidence booster after those couple of defeats..

well done lads, just got to keep at it

good luck to the accy lad...thinking about you..

  2. I was thrilled to find this video on YouTube, record crowd I think at York (and fans today think the current BP is dilapidated).

I was at the game, were you ?

What a free kick from Maurice Whittle, and a rare glimpse of Alan Groves.

Hiuglights start about 06:0 into the video - enjoy.

what a find....i was there although only 7 years old...

there was alot of oldham fans there that day...

  3. I've had a skinfull at a mother's day meal then just watch Dickov's interview on Latics Player and listened to his interview on the BBC - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/o/oldham_athletic/9444709.stm

I love Dickov, in a purely manlove kind of way, obviously. I have never heard a manage talk so much sense as this man does, nothing is ever about him, it is all about the players and the team. Whenever he can praise the team as a whole he does so, he never singles anyone out for abuse or nonsense like that and always praises "the defence" or "the midfield" as a whole. We're 3rd division not Champions League, we're not going to get stellar performances week in week out and no matter that we've not won for 13 games he's kept going and kept the lads going and got the rewards on Saturday.

HE'S not flinched from the challenge or panicked and swapped everything round, he's kept the nucleus of the side together and done what he thinks is the right thing to do to dig us out of the hole we found ourselves in and the football gods shone on him on Saturday as we got the win.

So we've got 6 days before the next game at BP, it's not going to be an easy one, Charlton are a decent side but we can do them. It would be easier to do them with a few more Latics Fanatics in the stands cheering them on. I've just looked at the fixtures and we've only got 3 home games left, these, Walsall & MK Dongs then that's it, B&Q and the Trafford centre beckon as the long summer months arrive. No World cup or Euro to tide us over, gonna be a long boring summer so store stash some football memories in the bank and get to BP to see us play the Addicks, god knows we need the money. Don't go supersize, get off a stop earlier, whatever, 6 days to cobble the cash together to see us play Charlton with a spring in our step after a win. To hear Mouldy Old Dough played loud (depending where you are in the ground) to smell bad aftershave mixed with pies and to see the 11 Blue Shirted Heroes take the hallowed pitch at the bottom of Sheepfoot Lane.

Dickov deserves the fans turning out, we can't yet say "cut in him half and he bleeds blue", well not Royle blue! But by God, give him a decent crack of the whip and we'll be back on the steps of the Civic Centre in Oldham for good reasons not boring planning reasons!

Hardy might have eaten your firstborn, or if your think after 8 years that Corney is out for an easy couple of million, or that Barry might have booked you for X reason, (or pissed you off for 7,8,9 + X reasons) but if you can cobble the money together so that Dickov has a few more fans to wave at when we sing "Dickov, give us a wave" them please do it! And take your place next to that bloke that looks a bit funny (and smells worse!) in the remaining stands we have and take the stress from the working week out by singing your loudest the songs we've sung since the last time we were good.

fantastic read mate...with you all the way

not bad at all being half caked as well

  4. Haha. My mate cracked me in the bollocks which led to me pushing him, telling him he was a knob and he needed to buy a beer! If that was a fight who ever posted that have never seen a fight. All kissed and made up in less than a minute

haha..yeah prendy...they said it was a vicious assault by some drunken yobs....wouldnt be oldham otherwise would it

  5. when the suggestion of moving all chaddy enders to the rre and having the chaddy as the away end was first discussed years back,im sure the police put the blockers on it..seem to remember the reason was they didnt want away fans roaming all over the car park from were the coaches stop to the turnstile.

but that was when we were getting 10000-15000 crowds....hardly the same now is it,so wonder if the club should re apply for this to happen

  6. thats a great idea.....however you would need to buy them in plenty of time to get them mailed out to you...or simply take your reciept to the club shop on match day and get your ticket...

the point of the outlets is in response to people finding it difficult to get to the club during the week...

one thought...what price are the tickets being sold at £18 or £20 ???

could be a good marketing tool for overseas latics fans to make some sort of donation to the club

    i dont know..buy a ticket but keep it..button

    cant be hard surely

with me living 50 miles away,it would be of great benefit for me to pay this way

come on latics,,,good idea for the run in

i dont think their is a problem with the tickets getting in the wrong hands

hardly see any huge away followings anymore

  8. dont know if i should sign this or not

i cant remember if i owed any council tax before i left for wakefield

    oh sod it

ps...wakefield wildcats have gone into administration and im sure they would love someone to groundshare with them next season....guaranteed 1 full house if we go up against the white scum...

  9. born in 1967...first game in 68,because if i didnt go,my dad wasnt allowed to go my mam said

no idea who against...first memory v hereford at home,,1974 i think,,,they were bottom of league..it was how many oldham were going to win by...we lost 5-3

at least alot of us can say we saw latics at wembley and play in the premiership

do you remember the sheff wed riots?what a day that was....

  10. That is difficult to say, we have asked for £1 a week, but many have committed to £5 a month or more.

If we had 200 fans paying £2.50 a week / £10 a month, that would pay for this player.

done my bit for this week

sent £10 to the cause.....the player looks quite good and i love watching over lapping full backs..

brings back memories of the barlow and irwin days

good luck latics in getting your man
