on another bright side this is a comp we have never had any interest in..
and i dont think losing to lower oppo has affected our performances in the league before...
roll on friday night
-
on the bright side
its not gonna get any worse this season
-
looks like im playing in goal friday night
off to polish me boots
-
if parker has to play then id put him up top at the side of abbott
any other position requires back tracking which he wont do
-
I thought this was a board to say how much the Americans are bleeding money out of the club and celebrate our continual decline to the Unibond Premier league not to discuss the forthcoming games and football related matters like players and stuff.
are right...well id prefer to keep the boardroom stuff to the boardroom and all the 10 bob millionaires on here who think they all know better, should really be finding ways of supporting our club instead of running it

i am expecting a tough game tomorrow,,,newly promoted and a good result at saints in midweek..
can we put on a display that got us 3 points at orient,,,
whats rubes gonna do this week?
will he pick parker on the right again (didnt do well v swindon)
will he bring back furman?
even at this stage of season we dont want to be dropping to many points so 3 tomorrow will make up for last weeks events
-
Shurely not...
oldham wanderers.......

Could be resting an injury? We don't know.
I'd guess he isn't going to 'rest' one of our best players with little cause. Seem as his job kind of depends on it.
if he ws injured,,he wouldnt have been on the bench would he?
-
"Penney caused a surprise as Dean Furman lost his place - the Athletic manager diplomatically referred to the midfield man as being rested. "
What does that mean? Sounds likes hinting at something else to me
rested,,,4 games into season and we are resting players,,,,,,wtf

We were warned by Huddersfield fan's....................piss poor!!!
All in all, i thought we did well until conceding, still think we have the semblance of a good unit. Just get a new keeper in and someone at the back with a little pace to put pressure on the centre halfs!!
doing well...............we didnt have one shot on target in the second half until the 93rd minute and that wasnt a shot...
sorry very dissapointing

Taylor has a groin injury. Can play through it but sooner or later an operation will be likely (if there is the chance of a sale then the club won't want to pay for an op until the transfer window closes).
Smalley's back injury could mean a 4 month lay off as well (so he told my son).
Furman? No idea why he was left out. We were doing okay until he came on though .
your blaming furman because hazzell cant play football
-
one of the best kids to come out of scotland and we find room to leave him out..
any one know why
-
yeah,,i got stung today...............................for 20 quid
-
wrote on here in pre season that hazzell is a liability
proven right today
my 6 year old wouldnt have done what he did today
hes unable to pass the ball with confidence to a player 10 yard away.
his long balls are indirect and lead to nothing
once again his inability to handle a situation has cost us the points today
not that we deserved the 3 anyway..
outplayed in second half by a team slightly better than stockport were
as for brill.......i wouldnt be confident in goal either with the goings on in front of him
-
having seen it 3 times still not convinced it was a penalty,,,,looked like he won the ball to me...
maybe the ref had this in mind but had doubts about the whole thing so just gave a pen..
great save though,,,nothing really wrong with the pen
-
wf2,,,,,,,,,,,,,wakefield and a few of us
build it over here
-
if brill didnt shout for it,,,,,,,,,,WHY THE F--K DIDNT HE
it was his ball all day long
-
great win today....the arrival of pawel abbott
-
How many are going tonight? I am setting off in a few mins and another friend has a car full too.
I still fully expect to lose though!
hope the players havnt got the same mentality as you

Didn't think they told us anything that new today...just merely allowed Failsworth Dynamos to air some grievances. The rest of the stuff was pretty much what we knew already. Anything more difficult got lost...like the two examples above. It's a shame the person asking that question didn't follow up with "So will Brassbank not be involved with OAFC in anyway?" however the way it was answered with a blunt Yes and moved onto the next question kinda gave the idea it was a very unwanted question.
Interestingly, Ian Hill choose to say that Darlington's problems came from having a 26k stadium thats empty. As though our 12k would be filled out. Or that a near empty 12k stadium would be much better off. Neither is true. Oxford's plight was ignored. Instead focusing on the budgets of the two former Premiership clubs that have come down. And previously focusing on your already established Bolton (pre-stadium) and millions loaded Wigans. We're neither of them...it all comes from off-field revenue which I hoped we'd get a bit more insight on tonight...but didn't. Other than what we knew.
I hope this isn't classed as consultation anyway. I welcome the opportunity to sit down and talk and find it sad that so few Latics fans turned up. I await further information from TTA before I'm convinced this is right for us...even though we'll be (to use the Dynamos phrase) railroaded into moving regardless.
As the person I went with to the forum said to me tonight...we simply sound like we're looking to move from BP to Failsworth with the same commerical problems, the same attendances and the same playing budget...all of which really is lacking ambtion and merely a side step and not a push forward. And with such revenue streams (business offices, conferencing suites) on the doorstep in the form of Manchester, Eastlands and now, as it transpired tonight, potentially FC United...people need to realise that this seriously isn't a guaranteed secured future for OAFC as everyone keeps pointing out...but a tricky gamble which has very high risks for our future and thus still does not address why such facilities, albeit scaled down, couldn't be looked at right where we are.
As Simon said tonight..."I can give no assurances"...indeed...more plans please before I'm anywhere near convinced this move is vital for our survival.
latics fans didnt turn up because its too far away....lol

75/76 season, over 22K, probably about 17K + being West Brom, I can still remember looking from the Chaddy acoss to the old RRE and just seeing a mass of green and yellow..I still thank God results elsewhere went their way that day...
yeah, remember that game well...was it tony brown got the only goal and they got promoted that day,,,
my mum had a jasper carrot lp were he tells a funny story about that game
-
thought stockport were one of worst teams ive seen at bp for years
and if we had played them 2 months from now it would surely have been a different story..
first half was abysmal....we couldnt put 2 passes together
2nd half we upped the tempo and should have taken at least 1 chance
think we need to get furman on the ball more
and greegan reduced their striker to a little boy

all dived in my mates cortina at 6 in morning..
had a new exhaust put on it at crewe..
puncture at watford..
limped into brighton looking like del boy and rodney van..
watched stitch score 2 of the best goals your likely to see..
man drops dead outside ground at full time..
puncture at oxford think it was..
arrive oldham 7..am
will live with me forever that day..
car scrapped monday morning..
unbeleivable scenes outside the dell as stitch scores that fantastic equaliser
hundreds of latics locked out that night..
the first half performance v west ham semi final
nobody in the whole wide world would have lived with us in that first half
neil adams strike for the first just sensational..
thee best performance by any latics side imo
17 of us playing against a load of lads from luton on a village green night before cup final
my mate broke his collar bone and the lucky git got seen to by st johns in the wembley dressing rooms
i for one live in the hope that many young latics fans can go on the same journey as many of us did between 89-93
happiest days of my life and i will cherish them forever
