The complete lack of acknowledgement for the season/fans from virtually all of the players after yesterday speaks volumes. As you say in another comment, I don't blame them for not giving any love back to fans who are quick to turn on them, but then I also don't see how players expect any fanbase to be happy clappy when their performances are as routinely bad as this.

There are some players who were bang average in recent years but fans liked them because they tried a bit off the pitch. Alex Reid, pre-Christmas-gate, interacted with fans quite a bit. Go as far back as Bahamboula. Just a few bits of being nice to fans after games and putting some effort in gives you a lot of leeway when your performances aren't great and buys patience with the fans. The fact the club/squad just don't address it despite acknowledging that it's a problem is crazy. This is why fans are quick to dislike the players, they don't give them anything to like or get attached to.

agree totally on this. They don’t play into the support they get at. The managers interviews are also dull and negative and he’s also losing support for this. Surprising they don’t realise this more

Dear me Mellon is actually delusional if he thinks the season hasn't dropped away since Eastleigh, we were top of the form table prior but have since gone on an eleven game winless run which is up there amongst the worst in out history, it's not lazy journalism it's fucking facts, add to that team selections been a fucking raffle and he's employed tactics straight off Clayton playing fields, what's lazy is his inability to set a team up and keep sending them out to do the same mind numbing thing game after game. It's not difficult to see why he cant motivate given the way he's behaving lately, I'd probably down tools as well if I had to listen to that tripe day in day out.

Harps on about his impossible job but then crawls up everyone's arse, if you're gonna bleat like a bairn then at least tell us what your trying to say because it looks to me like he wants to blame every fucker but himself, he's almost making his position untenable with the stance he's taken the last couple of weeks and there has been absolutely nothing to be gained from the way he's going on if he's not looking to move on, all he's doing is making an impossible job even more difficult.

Of course there's shit going on but I have less faith than ever that he's the man to sort it out, for a start whose gonna play for him after the shit he's talked and I'm not spending a fucking penny whilst Captain fucking doom is in town.

So hard to back him speaking like that. Such a negative outlook when things aren’t really that bad. Squad of people played higher up good board fans. Garner and Norwood right up there with best pedigree in league for strikers. He brought Dallas in a guy who ripped the league up and he got 0-11 for us. Didn’t bag once. Are we so poor we can’t get a good striker for the league on loan to do anything. , is perhaps his motivation and leadership more the issue? I’m thinking the latter here

He has to hold his hands up with certain decisions he's made, but the rot runs much, much deeper than him. This is the point I suppose I'm really getting at.

As it turned out in the end, whichever formations, gameplans and team selections he tried, the players by and large were incapable of executing any one of them.

The players have been woeful. U have to question if we have people happy to collect cash for easy ride in nat league knowing this is a tidy number and best they can get to see out their careers. Makes the argument for hungry younger players grow

There was a point when the Wealdstone defence had the ball and no-one went towards them to intercept, so they just stood still with the ball.

Eventually I think it was Gardner who jogged forward to get the game going again.

If ever a passage of play summed the season it was that for me.

Agree. watch Fondops second. Barely anyone celebrates with him. No enthusiasm at all from many

The main objective for this years business plan was a minimum a play off position.

Someone needs to fall on their sword but I wonder who will fall first.

It’s an a resounding  corporate management failure at the highest level and their are serious questions that need asking.

Agree. Hard not for that to be someone on the board. They stuck with Unsy, they gave interim manager 6 games and managed to piss off redfearn. They appointed Mellon, they sanctioned the contracts for players who look short of what is needed past this season. I’d want to see at least one go for failing top 7

Of all that shit today you pick out the guy who was in the pitch for ten minutes?

not about today though is it. That’s just a prime example of what we’ve seen. Outplayed most weeks, inability to pass, rinse repeat no improvement over and over. Sutton right back when he’s been woefull another. Can’t say he’s got any better as season gone on can u really

They played in Brazils colours and we looked in awe if their slick excellent passing.

Their number 2 played like Socrates with his calmness and immaculate distribution.

Our players can't even pass a ball 5 yards to a colleague.

Add a lack of desire to that and its a downhill slope.

It’s every week. I mean how can sheron be pro centre mid with composure and passing like that. He can’t have hoofed it at other clubs surely. How can MM constantly accept that. Sheron misses his intended target by 15/20 yards some times. There’s others as well. What are they doing on the training ground, as we’ve seen literally no progress

  8. Can’t see him resigning, it’s a big job, good backing with chance to win back to back promotions, plus he hasn’t had a summer to clear and shape the team. He won’t get a better opportunity than this I don’t think.

I’m close to 50/50 with him now and was firmly stick with him whatever in feb. Great track record but last 14 games have shown that when things are difficult he looks lost. He hasn’t shown much that he can improve people, tactically not been great recently, not risked any youth, signings haven’t worked. there’s not too much to hang onto and now his backing is waning and crowd are on him he’s in for a tough ride

It’s about value for money. He may be our best player but if binning him frees up budget and (it’s a big if) it’s spent wisely then we can have a better team overall. The case is made by reference to his salary.

Norwood frustrated, attitude clearly not happy must kill moral. If we can’t surround him with the quality that keeps him happy we are better without.

    Dissect what what you want.

He’s won game in 14 - and any manager at any football is under massive pressure with that return.

yep exactly and the frightening thing is the majority are signed up next year to play for him again. Either he moves a load out or we are in for same next year

Takes mellons historic track record away from it and he would be getting the same treatment as unsworth from fans. I think we look as bad as we did under unsworth. I see zero difference

agree but u hit nail on head as he’s shown he can sort it where unsworth had nothing behind him.

I’ve been disappointed he’s not worked out that the lack of balance and width has been an issue and the lack of forward ideas as a result cause naff footy. Thought he would have addressed it tactically but he hasn’t and I’m disappointed as I thought he’d be tactically on it and now m not sure. His records elsewhere is good so let’s give him time to sort it

He did,but he's not been the worst player by far, Hope, Dallas and Norwood look like they aren't interested.

agree and this is the worst thing in footy, we stayed up in league 1 with a horrendous team that literally ran through walls for shez. The relegation season was when we had people on big money who couldn’t be arsed. I sense the same here, all good to have people like that to sprinkle the finishing touches but when u need them to dig in they aren’t worth having around. Been disappointed in norwoods attitude from what I can tell watching him

Sorry but he's had near on six month, signed six players, exiled at least half a dozen and we are undoubtedly worse. Why would you waste another season we are rudderless and he keeps picking the same incompetents.

counterproductive changing it all again. Pretty certain the first season for a manger rarely ends in promotion. Much better percentages when people are 2-3 years in to a project. I expect better quality football for sure but even though he’s had six months and I’d only give him 5-6/10 now I think if I was in charge I’d still be sticking with him and only because he’s shown over and over he can do it
