points dropped again. Played well but only 5 league wins from 19 in what is a terrible league. Time to turn it round but think the players have had enough time now. Move a few out, few loans in needed
-
Surprised hope came off when he works hard. Green all day a luxury player and should come off first for me
-
Wow how stupid on a yellow. No excuses no need to hold on. On half way as well.

Let's put things right though, the violence only flared after Oldham fans were attacked. Yes they shouldn't have been there, but to me the blame rests on the authorities. It was a total fuck up before, during and after.
If u think the authorities are the problem then u are not right in the head. Clearly some moronic individuals out there and there would have been trouble anyway -

Loved yesterday and enjoy all the to and fro between the fans but some seriously embarrassing behaviour yesterday.
Some of the usual suspects, old enough to be grandfathers, who seem to be looking for trouble every time I see them at it again. Must be a pretty sad existence.
was a bit much yesterday. Took the shine off the day for me. Balloons everywhere embarrassing themselves. Need to make it 11am ko in future- 1

It’s not his fault- because it’s not his position, and it’s exposing all his weakness. He isn’t quick enough, is poor on the half turn and his crossing isn’t good enough. But again, not his fault because what the position needs isn’t his game.
Feel for him.
I’m a little bit with u on this that he is out of position. But….he’s played a fair bit there now and positionally he’s still all over the place. Passing, terrible. Just not good enough for me. Not a chance he’ll get a game at centre back over hogan raglan and Hobson or mcgahey. Hopefully won’t get a game at right back after that as well. -

We MUST get a right back
good win hard fought but by god that was bad from Sutton. I think poss the worst right back performance I’ve ever seen at latics. Truly horrific. Needs replacing immediately -
A lot to work on, think we all know that. But as dire as we have been it’s 4 wins and 3 draws which can’t be sniffed at from where we were. Good platform for new manager now
-
Total disaster for the board. Whatever has happened, whether they have been lied to and treated badly, or got another job the hoard should have managed this better.
additionally the whole point of the recruitment manager was to try and get continuity in signings ect. Now we are going to get new manager, with new ideas and a total change of personnel. May be needed, may not but upheaval like this doesn’t happen to teams in seasons they get promoted

I've read all through this thread, and there's not one mention of something else that's another problem here - our own entitled supporters. Yeah, I've heard all the arguments about how the fans pay their money so they're entitled to moan/ we should be beating these part time pub teams cos we're a big club/ blah, blah, blah etc. But come on - booing one of your own players when he's coming on? For God's sake, what possible good can this do? Yeah, we're great fans when it's going well, but sometimes when things aren't going so well is when the players need encouragement the most, and that's when some of our lot quickly turn to personal abuse. It's clear that other teams know how quick we are to turn on the team, and understandably, they try to play on it. I'm not saying we shouldn't make our feelings known, but maybe there's a less abusive way of doing so.
I'm not saying a change in fans attitude will solve the deep rooted problems in our beloved team, but it just might help a bit.
Just think about it a little eh.
Don't forget, this is my opinion and I'm just as entitled to express it as anyone else. I'm not going to enter into a great debate so anyone else can feel free to try and belittle what I have written and have the last word.
(I'll don my tin helmet now and prepare myself for the torrent of abuse that may soon come my way.)
I think the fact these smaller clubs with less resource are turning up and look a lot better than us yet are paying a lot less is driving this. If we are paying top dollar for the league, which we are, then we need to be seeing value for that money.- 3

Lundstrum isn't match fit
Dickinson isn't match fit (weirdly)
Green can't put in more than a decent half, half hour normally.
That's 3/4 of our midfield that are in and out of the game, overrun for the last hour - it's no wonder Sheron went off he was probably fucked, defended quite well at times but the build up was painful, they looked like they had three more players than us, Reid an absolute passenger missed a sitter to make it 2.
We have a board who are dithering and dathering, whoever comes in needs players because this squad just isn't good enough, Raglan and Freeman cant make the 16 yet are on very good money for this level, midfield options from the bench are embarrassing really.
We've played 6 teams out of the bottom 8 and the last four games against teams 15th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd we've been comprehensively outplayed, it's embarrassing really.
yep I quite like Dickerson and green, when they have their 15 mins playing well. But they disappear for long spells and as u point out we then get over run.
when we go to 3 up top we have no width without Reid as one of the 3.

Garbage. Hobson was head and shoulders above everyone else and even spent 75 minutes covering for Sutton. Even Shelton was covering for him. Shudder the thought.
I read on here that there were cries for Sutton to play in midfield.
I wholeheartedly agree. As long as it isn't ours.
Whilst Sutton is a Square peg, his decision making is awful. He turned and passed the ball into our own penalty area in the first half on his weaker foot when it was crowded with opposition players.
He should have hit it into row z.
He believes his own hype and whilst Hobson and Hogan can actually play out of trouble, he just wins headers which make him look "good", but invariably gives the ball back.
Worst right back since Steve Edwards.
Edit: makes Connoire Brun look like Cafu.
have to agree. He’s not a right back and poss the best we have who is fit right now but he’s a liability. All over place defensively and passing is horrendous. Not the main prob though. Midfield as a unit are really poor. We can’t hold the ball and as a result get pinned in our own half by very poor sides. Front two hold up play also needs to be called into question

It’s a good job we score first under Tommo. Been marginally second best since about 15 mins in. Just can’t keep the ball at all
-
1-0 get in…. Great corner routine there and good start

Yes, I’m coming to the same conclusion, the squad is totally unbalanced and we can’t get a grip on matches. It is utterly dreadful to watch and equally pointless having a (supposedly) great attacking line up if you can’t give them the service.Norwood works hard but mostly in the wrong areas and his frustration is evident which probably doesn’t help anyone.
he’s got a good enough track record to suggest the service isn’t the best and it’s not him. He needs to do more but we don’t make it easy. All our crosses come from left full back and rarely from the wingers and chances of a through ball from mid are non existent. I feel when midfield is sorted and we do boss games he’ll score a lot more.- 1

Not great performance again. Hobson standout but mid and strike force need to do a lot more. Tommo set them up as well as anyone can, used subs well, but 2nd half 2nd best so no complaints. Looking a big ask to get current squad to where we all want or where they should be for what they paid. Hopefully win sat and then it will have been a good recovery from where we were a month ago
-
Great header from reid. Scoring all types of goals and looking a top player for the league. 13 from 15 points incoming i think
-
Can’t believe some people are saying Thompson not the man after last two. He’s done very well for me. They have barely had time to work on anything with back to back games. He’s got us 10 points from 4 and made sensible decisions. They all seem happy and have been set up well enough, no one is coming in and getting much more out of the team in same time frame. We clearly need a fair bit of work, as everyone can see midfield is short as is right back, but confident we will be up there with Thompson or someone else. However, lundstrom ward and freeman needed asap along with some serious time on training ground

Good subs here. Been impressed with his changes so far. It’s not hard we can all see who is having a stinker though

Quite…. but is the part timers who are carving us open.
We look like a league below.
frustrating when we have 2 defensive mids and they play through us. Fairly open game, will suit us as I think we have better firepower. Still fancy us to score again -
Sutton ffs! What’s he doing running out then
-
Good finish. Great to have a bit of pace up front. Has deserved a start since back end of last year
-
Looking forward to this. Club in good shape, 3 wins behind us but plenty to work on. Tough game and need to do better but should be winning again, any of our front 2 have a good day and we will do. 2-0 latics
