I will agree with you on Thomo when he spots that Shelton is not ready to play. Twice now when he replaced Gardner, we have looked poor again in the middle.  When Thomo drops Shelton, I will feel better about him carrying on managing us.

we just didn’t get a grip of game as the two in middle offer very little. Don’t do box to box, don’t drive forward with the ball, passing terrible. Then front two don’t hold it and we can’t get any good play together. If we can sort centre mid out we’ll improve massively

It beggars belief that Unsworth refused to change his style when absolutely everyone else knew it was so glaringly obvious what was needed!

Absolutely. Good the players are good pro’s and played to tactics but it’s clear DU and ebrell and their style was the problem. No one can sit here and say the players weren’t up to it or not playing for him, it was 100% his tactics and style that cost us. In hindsight we should have got shot after n county at new year when it was clear he had no clue. We’ve treaded water for 9 months but now our season starts. Chesterfield got 15 point start now ffs

It's nice to be able to say, at last, "I`ll trust the manager to pick the correct starting line-up - and trust him to make the right changes, at the right time, if things aren't going to plan."

That's partly what managers are paid to do.

totally agree. Unsy and ebrell were god awful and THE problem results didn’t come. A simple tactic with squad used if we are drawing or behind. That in itself will return a fair chunk of points in next few games

Would the likes of Clarke or the Cowleys drop down out the league? Managing in league 1 at pompey and Vale not so long ago to non league next gig? Leam Richardson was at Wigan in the championship after winning the league last job next job non league with Oldham bit of a drop off when they'll be league jobs up for grabs soon. We'll either end up with someone who manages at the level now or a newbie making his way in the game.

If u have a bit of vision we are a good option for back to back promotions and that would equate to stock rising super high for poss championship jobs so yeah I few would def back themselves to deliver and drop down

Just because he went on to do well, doesn’t airbrush his time with us.

It was AL’s first season and he backed him massively, we played well for four games in his caretaker period, and then got steadily worse- culminating in relegation.

He’ll want 28 new players, all from the championship and when he doesn’t get them will moan constantly. He’s the lower leagues Conte, very good if you give him huge backing- whines and never takes responsibility if you don’t.

    No thanks.

Agree on wellens. He was trying to get sacked at end playing ridic formations that got us relegated. Not for me

Previous success is no guarantee. ANYBODY after D.U will be an improvement but patience will be needed.Lets just see a settled team and  formation.Let the players play and let's start enjoying B.P. again.

Success WILL come with time. We've great owners who care so now we need players who care. We already have fans who care.

nothing is guaranteed but with a track record at least u know they have it in them. First timers are a total lottery hence better to go with someone who u know has shown they can do it

Would you resign and give up your Severance?

    No, neither would I.

This idea any manager owes a club something by resigning is utter nonsense. He signed a contract, the club need to just sack him and honour the severance.

I would if i was DU, ex England int highly rated taking a team second bottom of nat league with Oxford city et Al sitting higher. He should have enough finance wise to easily cope therefore his pride as a top sportsman should kick in. Imagine being him playing for England being outperformed by dorking coach who’s never played. Footy is a big ego world and that must hurt a lot to have to say someone who never played is better than u. Loads resign when it just isn’t working, no reason why u’d sit there taking pelters from fans all day, can’t be enjoyable.

    Just watched his presser.

The most honest interview he’s done, and I actually felt for him- he looked broken. Sad when it gets to this stage, just need to put him out oh his misery.

No way is he broken or he’d resign. He was just honest in that we were second best all over today. His career and that of ebrell and Oxford city have more points than they can muster. Embarrassing. They will ride it out until sacked and cost the club thousands. No way anyone should be feeling sorry for someone like that

Agree he was a little more honest on the display than usual. He should be resigning though, him and ebrell. Both embarrassing themselves with the career they had to be backed and have a side second bottom (taking Southend points deduction out) Of the nat league with pt teams performing better. Utterly dreadful management

  10. When u look back it’s just been bad all round. From the start shez got more out of what he left than Unsy. He said they were not fit or good enough which is true but his return was poorer than someone else. The recruitment tbf looks good but it’s clear his style of footy doesn’t work. He can’t make us solid, he hasn’t got us keeping the ball or trying to and his counter attack or attack coaching is poor as our goal Return under him is dreadful. All in all no real signs he’ll ever turn it or make a solid manager. We’ve given plenty of time now, results aside the performances are worse so literally nothing to cling onto that he’s worth a longer punt

    The football is shite.

Apathy has well and truly set in for me.

same here didn’t even watch. Can imagine as royle had a bad first year they are saying stick with him it will come. But there is nowt really to suggest it will. Even the run last year wasn’t great performance wise. Think we’ll be stuck with him for a fair while yet
