  1. This isn't a laughing matter, I think there are major benefits to the scheme. I am devising the sound/dispensing system now. Once I finish the initial drawings, I am going to email my idea to the clubs commercial department. I will be willing to email a copy of the drawings to anyone who wants to see them.
  2. You dont get paid playing for England, well only expenses. If Abbott got a hat trick against Leeds, you don't think he would deserve a bonus? Brill deserved his full wage last match did he? I'm fed up of small minded people on here.
  3. No, you misunderstand. Tthere would be no need for custard pies. The low amount of 50p's in the wheelbarrows would be the punishment. I hope that cleared it up. Thanks.
  4. Rugby fans are a different breed, you cant compare it. In and around Jo'berg the official recommendation is to stay in your hotel. Thats the official statement! The nightclubs have boxes for people to deposit their guns. Drunken English fans, highly strung South Africans, nightclubs, girls, guns........
  5. This is a superb idea which would in a stroke; Make the players try harder Improve performances Increase crowds Create a carnival atmosphere We would, however need a sound detection sytem, a money dispenser and 14 wheelbarrows in the centre circle after the game. At the end of the game the players line up at the Chaddy End. The announcer reads out (for example) ; "Todays Goalkeeper......DEAN BRILL! Show your appreciation" The crowd clap and cheer in accordance with the level of his performance. As the sound increases, so does the number of 50 pence peices dropping into his wheelbarrow. While this is going on, the player in question is walking towards the centre circle. When he gets there, he collects his wheelbarrow full of 50 pence pieces and walks down the tunnel. It is performance based pay. After a great victory, the atmosphere would be incredible and after a poor performance the players would get the wages they deserve. I have emailed the clubs financial department.
  6. Thanks garcon. I'm not a genius although a thank you for the compliment. Thats 2 forward thinking individuals with me so far.
  7. Also, the white South African population won't take kindly to drunken behaviour. I just see it as a boiling pot of trouble. Sounds like a good job razza! Did you manage to get down to the Cape and do the Great White Shark cage diving and did you get to many South African bry's (cant spell it but the BBQS! wow) ?
  8. Sandton is 1 small area, there will be well over a million fans travelling. I feel very sorry for the Japanese, South Korean and drunk English fans. I hope I'm wrong but there is gonna be carnage. Any country where; white customers are freely allowed to say "thanks K*****" to black employees in a supermarket (happened numerous times while I was there) where on Long St (the main party street in South Africa) black people get assaulted with pool cues simply for taking someone elses turn while people just watch and where the electricity has to be turned off at nights in the nations capital, and one of the top 20 most dangerous cities in the world cannot host a World Cup.
  9. Its a January night, do you; A - Pay £5 to watch rubbish at home? B - £20 to watch rubbish in the cold?
  10. I have emailed the clubs commercial department regarding the possibility of a pay per view channel for home games. I have mentioned the positive response on here and listed the positives. As Corney criticises the fans, I think its a very possible, if not probable idea.
  11. I got called a :censored: after about 3 posts. OK OK. Rudemedic obviously thinks its a good idea. What do you think of his post?
  12. PLEASE BOOK ACCOMODATION BEFORE YOU GO. Having spent time in South Africa, the rumours are true. It can be an incredibly dangerous place and there will be a very high number of muggings and robberies. They aren't setting up fan camping zones for this reason. Its also gonna be very cold. Going without accomodation will be a huge mistake.
  13. Thankyou rudemedic. I appreciate someone with lateral thinking and well thought out points. I should say that by watching on TV, I meant the goals and highlights currently shown. The electricity for lighting stands, paying stewards, cameras etc are the biggest expenditure surely? IN FACT, MAYBE THE CLUB COULD LAUNCH A PPV CHANNEL FOR HOME GAMES!!!! Revenue without opening the ground!
  14. Hang on. I got called a :censored: and its ME who started it?! I'm gonna contact a mod and get them to hand out some warnings. Its uncalled for.
  15. Please form a coherant argument about any point I have made. I want a discussion, not name calling. Thanks.
  16. Thanks Zorrro People insult me for no reason and I have to retaliate.
  17. footy68 You honestly posted a silly pow sign, and then sat and thought "I'll show him, I'll go back and put the insult in bold!!!!! That'll teach him!" I assume your 40 or 41. LOL at you.
  18. Latics_Fanatic I see you've ****tucked and have no comeback to my replies to your criticism. Next!
  19. 4,000 people booing and moaning in a 3 sided, 60% empty, windswept dump of a ground. GREAT ATMOSPHERE.
  20. Well ... - I wont be able to watch the team i've been supporting all my life (nearly enough) - WATCH ON TV. - 4,000 people do not moan its just the minority - MAJORITY - Away fans making noise - does this really give an advantage - WHAT DO YOU THINK?! OF COURSE IT DOES. - Your a :censored: & its not going to happen - need i say more? - PETTY INSULTS AGAIN.
  21. Please give me a negative. The only one I can think of anyone saying is "we would lose the atmosphere". What atmosphere?!?! 4,000 people booing and moaning in a 3 sided, 60% empty, windswept dump of a ground. GREAT ATMOSPHERE. The away fans constantly make more noise. Playing behind closed doors will remove this advantage.
