  1. OK LookersCarl. BeckfordsRightFoot has decided to grace you with a reply to your post as he feels you thought out your reply sufficiently to warrant it. His replies are in bold. 1) Not entirely. He is still stuck with some players from the last regime such as Whittaker, Allesandra, OGrady, Lee, Hazell, all of whom will be on decent money. None of these players (Hazel apart) were first choice last season and (Hazel apart again) haven't played this season. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED. 2) Disagree, think on the whole his signings have been ok given the budget we have Brill - Not going to say poor signing, but had we have kept fleming and had two keepers fighting for the no1 spot, I think this would have done Brill the world of good. Poor signing. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Jacobson - Jury still out but looked good in pre season. Average division 3 player. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Gregan - Still not decided. Be honest. He's past it and you know it. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Purdie - Not in a position to comment as of yet. See Jacobson. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Gibert - Brought in on a short term deal as cover for Jacobson, doubt very much he will still be here once jacobson is fit. Poor loan player, same as last season. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED :censored: - Brought in as cover but good signing. Really? Honestly? VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTEDWorthington - Very good signing. Natural leader on the pitch, not shy of a tackle, ball winner, puts in a shift. He's just like John Gannon. Before you laugh, remember, Gannon played at a much higher level. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Furman - Again very good signing. High work rate, box to box midfielder. Oh yeah, thats why Latics got him. Bigger clubs were obviously flocking around him. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Abbott - Class signing, will score goals and given the right partner, provide plenty of assists with his hold up play. Oh yeah, thats why Latics got him. Bigger clubs were obviously flocking around him. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTEDByfield - Again I think he was only signed as striker cover, dont think he will be here too much longer. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED Parker - Granted had a bad game on saturday but I dont think RW is his best position. No explanation needed. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED 3) Disagree again, we have a plan B this season, the team as a whole work a hell of alot harder than last season. Work harder, still play with no style. Your skirting the issue. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED 4) Considering the amount of southern teams in this division and the drop in season ticket sales, this was inevitable. You know as well as I do, people will pay to watch an attractive team. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED 5) Thats football, you win some you lose some. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED 6) Dont think its fair to single out Penney here, but since 2000 we have had the following managers. Ritchie Wadsworth Dowie Talbot Moore Shez Royle Penney Name me a manager amongst them who did not from time to time make the wrong decision regarding a player. Was the great Joe Royles treatment of Neil Redfearn not a bit harsh? You haven't argued BeckfordsRightFoots point. You agreed with it. VALID ARGUMENT CLAIM = REJECTED
  2. Singe Please, BeckfordsRightFoot is waiting to hear which point he has ever made which isn't 100% accurate.
  3. Not everyone is as willing to pay a fortune to watch poor 3rd Division football and blindly sing songs of support Singe. BeckfordsRightFoot appreciate's this is a thinly veiled attack on the people who make threads voicing serious concerns regarding a certain relegation battle ahead, but you have to calm down. Dont worry your little head about what other people think, if it makes you happy to keep going watching Latics draw with Swindon and Stockport, you just keep going son.
  4. BeckfordsRightFoot (And yes, he is talking about himself in the 3rd person now, he has earned this due to the accuracy of his predictions before the start of the season) doesn't rant. He makes well thought out, coherant statements that are 100% accurate. There has yet to be a single legitimate argument to any point he has EVER made. He is also a fantastic songwriter, a footballing scholar and has the predictive powers of Nostradamus. And once again, he challenges people to dispute even a single one of his points.
  5. 1. It's his team 2. The signings are,on the whole, poor. 3. The style of play is generally accepted to be poor. 4. The crowds are dropping already. 5. We are out of a cup competition already. 6. Questionable player judgement. Brill over Fleming? BeckfordsRightFoot challenges "loyal Latics fans" to disagree with any of his points.
  6. Hmmm. It is widely considered as a major factor in the Nazi's downfall. It wasn't very fast. In the South Pole, until his death, Captain Scott walked over 1000 miles in 90 days pulling 280lbs behind him in -40 degrees as a comparison. Coincidentally, Hitlers quote about the Russian campaign "We shall kick in the door and the whole rotting structure will collapse" is a good metaphor for Latics upcoming season.
  7. 1. A cruise liner 2. A dwarf 3. One of those moving rocks in Death Valley 4. The Nazi invasion of Russia I choose option 4.
  8. To the Tune of "Superstitious" by Stevie Wonder Doomed to low mid table Writings on the wall That new keeper Dean Brill He cant catch a ball To the tune of "Penny Arcade" by Roy Orbison Roll up and pay Alan Hardy would say Come and laugh and the signings Penney has made Just stand and yell and give the boys hell As we watch any slight play off hopes fade As the Latics play Till the start of May They'll get worse, worse and worse Worse all the time I wouldnt pay them a dime
  9. Tune the tune of Pinks "Just Like A Pill" Yeah, we got Dean Brill Instead of making us better We'll never see "nil" we'll never see "nil" To the tune of "Bread Of Heaven" Keigan Parker Keigan Parker He flatters to deceive He flatters to deceive To the tune of Adam Ant "Prince Charming" Sean Gregan, Sean Gregan Someone with pace is something to be scared off To the tune of ABC's "Shoot That Poison Arrow" That boy on loan :censored: shouldn't start To the tune of Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls" Wor - thing - ton Cant pass, only fouls!
  10. Oh, and as much as I hate to admit it, Man Utd ARE the "biggest club in the world" by a long way. I've been all over the world from Ethiopia to the Philippines and I've never seen a Barcelona shirt. I have however seen 1000's of Man Utd shirts. All the kids in African slums want to talk about is Rooney or Giggs. I played ISS Pro on a playstation 1 in a shack in Lalibella in Ethiopia and both teams were set as Man Utd. They have the most fans, take in the most money and are the most widely known football club on the planet.
  11. I'd just like to ask what depths Latics have sunk to when the fans are pleased Burnley have won? I couldnt care less if its Man Utd they beat. We dont get on with Burnley. You'll all be singing "chim chiminy........" at weekend. Hypocrites. Unless of course you dont know what the words mean.
  12. FC United - Ambitious non league team building their own 7000 stadium in Nnewton Heath where their club originated. Oldham Athletic - 3rd Division team downsizing their stadium and moving away from where the club originated.
  13. Might be a shock to people considering my views on here, but if you people have been offensive enough to the club you loves management to cause them to in effect rebuild the stadium, you shuld be ashamed! lol
  14. The only fight in the UFC for Fedor is Lesnar. They wanted him to sign a 6 fight deal. Now he's signed for Strikeforce, the next 3 fights will be chosen from a list WAY better than the UFC's; Alistair Overeem Josh Barnett Brett Rogers Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva - Very nice guy and HUGE Roger Gracie - I got destroyed by him in sparring while he tied his hands in his belt. lol Jeff Monson Oh, and Javier Vasquez isn't a new fighter, he's been around for years. He has a good takedown instructional DVD.
  15. My next door neighbour went to pick up his season tickets yesterday and stuck his head inside the ground where that computer centre thing is near the driving school. They're rebuilding the dugouts across the pitch. Maybe because Penney wants to be at pitch level? Makes sense to me, easier to get instructions across.
  16. dfOAFC Nice photo! Gatti was my hero, recent events are very sad. I have a signed photo of him in his title winning fight with Tracey Harris Patterson from before he got popular from the Ward fights. My top 5 Gatti fights; 1. Gatti v Gabby Ruelas - Best fight I've ever seen. 2. Gatti v Wilson Rodrigues - "Gatti's gotta do something spectacular guys". 3. Gatti v Mickey Ward 1 - Brutal but Gatti was already on the slide. 4. Gatti v Ivan Robinson 1 - Fantastic. 5. Gatti v Angel Manfredy - At the time a very important fight and a war.
  17. Is it because in this new era where even poor 3rd Division footballers are classed as "stars", nobody wants to do the dirty work? It seems that nowadays a full back is classed as a good player if he gets forward (eg Micah Richards - ABYSMAL defender) . A centre half is good if he scores the odd goal from a set piece (Joleon Lescott - TERRIBLE defender). This has filtered down the leagues and every young full back coming through nowadays cant defend! What changed since the mid to late 80's/ early 90's when even Latics had solid young defenders like Andy Linighan, Mike Flynn, and Andy Barlow emerge?
