  1. I've genuinely not seen any of that. I still think last week was :censored: but that doesn't make me negative.

I'm wasn't aiming my comments at anyone on here tbf. By and large the opinions, positive or negative, are pretty reasonable on here. But I left the game angrier about the supposed 'supporters' I was surrounded by than the actual performance. I understand the frustration, we've been in this division a long time now and I think we're all bloody sick of it, but some of the stuff I heard last Saturday went way past being a bit frustrated.

  2. Lots of people keep pre-empting a backlash. No-one on here's had a pop but it seems as though some are really looking forward to the prospect of it.

Some people aren't able to distinguish alternative opinions and informed criticism from negativity and a lack of patience.

You mustn't have been at the game last week then. 'Informed' is about the last word I'd use to describe some of the abuse I heard spouted. I'm not pre-empting anything.

Only a tiny minority of Latics fans visit this site. I'm talking more about what I've heard at matches and read on social media. I'm not looking forward to it at all, quite the opposite. I'm sick of it.

  3. Isn't a team just a collection of individuals playing as a side and so how can you be the better team if two individuals in it are making mistakes which lose the game

I think you know the answer to that, and are just being deliberately obtuse in an attempt to get a reaction.

I've figured out your game pseudonym.

  4. Dreading our boo-boys reaction if we go 0-1 down next week .

I can hear them sharpening their knives already. I really don't understand how difficult it is for people to realise that with a young manager, and a young and almost completely new squad, we're going to need to be patient for a while in order to let them gel. I've said it a few times and a fair few people have responded with "Oh we've been patient for 15 years" or other similar nonsense. :petesake:

  5. You missed a couple of cracking home games last season then

As noted above, there were plenty advocating £24 for the new stand at BP a couple of weeks ago.

I paid it on those occasions, albeit begrudgingly (football fan in being hypocrite shocker). But seriously, anyone who thinks £24 to watch 3rd tier football is reasonable is a bit of a moron in my opinion.

  6. We had a thread recently where many thought we should charge more

    #twentyisplenty

Really? Wow. I don't blame the club for charging what they do, what with our attendances (although the price is partly to blame) and in order to compete generally, but I still feel like I'm being robbed every time I pay it. Anything above £20 and I'd stop attending games, it's as simple as that.

  7. The whole league is too expensive not just P'boro. But if you could afford to go when its £20, then you can if its £25... The whole day with travel, food, drink etc would be £60-80, so the extra fiver wouldnt make a difference if you can afford that anyway.

This kind of attitude is the reason clubs in this country can continually get away with taking the piss with their prices. What if next season Latics home games went up to £25, would that be OK because it's 'only a fiver more'? Then clubs start charging us £30 for away games, but hey, it's only an extra fiver. And so on and so on...

  8. Tickets bought, cannot wait!... It was 25 quid at Swindon last year and no-one said anything, agree that its too expensive but massive over reaction

It isn't a massive over-reaction at all. £25-28 for league one football is disgusting. The more people bend over and pay it, the worse things are going to get.

  9.

Don't worry, there isn't going to be a revolution to upset your status quo, although some other clubs don't have the same "defence mechanisms" raised when the topic crops up - which could open another line of debate entirely.

I regularly see skull and crossbones and St.Pauli flags at football matches. Not one :censored: is given.

It's a bit insensitive to victims of piracy though, isn't it? We're supposed to be a family club ffs
