And Bayern Munich apparently...or is it 1860 Munich you dislike?
...just Manchester United.
-
Oldham Athletic has next to no control over the adverts that appear on its website. United will control theirs to the most minute detail. United will take full advantage of that. Why is anyone surprised/annoyed?
As I've described, Man United wont know where this ad has appeared. They've bought bulk inventory from a network that happens to represent the FL league clubs that share the web format. It's the FL that should block other football clubs from accessing this inventory. We could complain to our club who in turn could point it out.
I guess southern clubs in the lower leagues will see the likes of Arsenal & Spurs on their sites.

You don't like innocent people who died in a plane crash?
Not likening a football team is one thing but a few on here refer to them as that and its disgusting!
The tragedy of innocent loss of lives is not what I am attacking, only the brand Manchester United.
-
I dont like them but I would never mock the fact that 20 odd people died!
Sure, I understand. My intension is/was only to mock their club, and nothing more.
-
I think you should be sorry for using it.
Bit of a fake apology.
No no, I'm genuinely sorry to Stevie, Prozac and anyone else, including yourself, who find it offensive. However, I can't take it back and my dislike runs deep.
-
Absolutely no need whatsoever.
I'm sorry it offends you, I just don't like them.

No I haven't mate the original pic was on BB80s Facebook feed thought it was a wind up, went on the official site and the ad there was for Thomson, refreshed and up popped the Scum advert...
Thank god for that. To be fair to the club, it isn't their fault. All clubs that use the web format provided are at the mercy of the FL who sell the inventory to a network. Technically, all clubs should complain to ensure other football clubs are banned from appearing. We could point this out assuming it hasn't been spotted by our club or any other for that matter.
It's a bit harsh to say the club have sold their soul. We simply wouldn't have the web traffic to commercialise the ad inventory without it being sold as bulk among all the other FL clubs.
Does p1ss me off tho, fookin Munich cnuts!

I work in advertising and that ad format is known as an MPU. The ads that appear there are served by a network that use targeting techniques known as: contextual targeting; re targeting and real time bidding. In effect, the technology being used recognises the browsers IP address and serves the most appropriate advert. In summary Prozac, they think you are a good bet as a Man Utd fan, or worst still, you've been on their website recently!!!!! Please tell me it's not the latter! ;)

According to the official site, FACT 40 is:
When Latics made their long-awaited return to England's top flight after an absence of 68 years in 1991, Earl Barrett had the honour of scoring their first goal in a 2-1 opening-day defeat at Liverpool.
'Their', or 'our'?

....just so long as he doesn't run his contract down and leave in 2015! 20-25% of £0 isn't a lot last time I looked....!

88-89 Round 3 drew 1-1 at Goodison with a late stitch equaliser. Replay narrowly lost 2-0 after a late Cottee brace
....and it's for this game that I refuse to sing 'what a waste of money' to an opposition player. Cottee had not long since moved to Goodison for a hefty fee and had looked abject. The Chaddy End chirped and the little f*cker scored 2 quick goals!

Good decision for what sadly has become a nothing competition - given me some great nights over the years so sad to see teams playing weakened teams on what used to be a real showpiece competition.
For what seemed like an age, we drew Leeds or Everton season after season. I remember a belter in 1986 I think, 4-2 v Leeds. I think our scorers were Gary Williams; Glenn Keeley; Denis Irwin free kick; Tommy Wright from the narrowest of angles. Shez played for them & Bob Taylor scored 1. Great game, great competition!

...bit of a walk from Stevenage station to the lamex stadium, pub crawl?

"Meanwhile, the millionaire racehorse owner has confirmed he is looking to take over a football club, thought to be Oldham Athletic.
He declined to confirm the identify of the club but said it would continue to play in its current home, rather than ground-share at the Salford City Stadium, if his bid is successful."

An article on BBC quotes Koukash as saying;
"The particular club we're looking at the remedy for it is there," he added. "It was a huge club previously and it just needs that little bit of extra investment to take it to the next level.
"By bringing in the personnel that were previously associated with the club at its heyday and bringing people in who are genuine club supporters it will excite the fans."
A heyday we have had, in people like Royle & Ritchie, some fans would be excited, huge we have never been! 14,000 average gate in the premier league is not big enough for that descriptor! It must be someone else....!!!!

Rail seating, as the pro safe standing campaign is promoting, would do so much for the chaddy end in terms of appeal, capacity, atmosphere, comfort and support for the players.
Presently the seats are packed in tighter than any other part of the ground, and since 1991 when they were installed, we haven't for any smaller!
Back in the 80's I used to love standing on the Chaddy End, it was noisy, provided a good view regardless of the pillars, and created a real togetherness.
Like all all-seater stadia, we are too disparate around the ground, and when there are only 3,500 of us, that cannot be good for the encouragement of the team.

For crying out loud guys, c'mon, if we'd have exercised the 1 year extension, Burnley wouldn't have wanted him. We'd have then been lumbered with a devisive individual who risked upsetting the rest of the squad. No, in LJ I trust, Burnley have only taken a chance on him cos he's free!
-
Doubt the football league would approve that if he's a banned company director. Sounds unlikely therefore, and another Moore fiasco if it were to go ahead. No, don't see it happening, however much Gazal & Blitz would like it to.
-
He did he was a Cardiff fan but changed teams. I know he went to watch Cardiff before his teens but I doubt he watched them much after that due to being busy with other stuff (mainly work). Being Welsh Rugby was probably his main sport too.
One possible solution would be to allow people to add new teams after marriage or conceiving children. So he'd qualify after my brother was born which was around the time he started watching Latics
Ok, so here we have it;
a. you were born within 6 miles of BP
b. your parents were born within 6 miles of BP
c. You moved to live within 6 miles of BP before age 15.
d. Your children we're born within 6 miles of BP
This should still classify millions of worldwide Man United fans as criminals under UK law!
-
If you look at our history, we've had quite a number of crest's over time. The badge we had from the mid eighties until 2 seasons ago is the one that I grew up with, so naturally I'm most fond of that one, however I've no problem any longer with it having changed. We're still OAFC - something that Simon Corney should be thanked for - and that's enough for me. Keep the faith.
-
My Dad is still in trouble, he didn't move to within 6 miles of BP until he was 30.
Hmmm, this does provide a hiccup that requires attention. In order to find a solution, might I enquire about why your Dad hasn't selected a team from with 6 miles of his birthplace, 6 miles of either of his parent's birthplace, or 6 miles of any place of residence prior to the age of 15?
-
Man, you've thought about this. I'm saved under part B. Although only one parent; I guess I'm half Latic, half Hearts.
Technically, you could've chosen Hibs, but Latics is your choice. I concur!
-
God. I have to become a West Ham fan or a Reading fan.
You don't if....
a) you were born within 6 miles of BP
your parents were born within 6 miles of BP
c) You moved to live within 6 miles of BP before age 15.
It sounds like we have a watertight case to propose this forms part of a 2015 general election manifesto to me. Can anyone see any further required amendments, before we put it in place and imprison at least 100,000 Man United fans?
WTF?

Can't say I disagree with that.
