Eh?
Who says Korey Smith had a bad game? And what's that got to do with Lockwood?
I rate Smith and Lockwood, but they both had poor games today.
Bloody awful distribution from both several times...
You really need specsavers!

Haha, she is a bit of a moose I reckon. He was on some programme called Real Footballers Wives years ago with his ex Lellani Dowding (page 3 girl)... Now she was fit.Worth an upboat every day of the week that.
-
He was at Crewe BP.All I can say is I remember Mark as a kid at Crewe, a very unassuming and polite lad.
Definitely came out of his shell later on though... I remember playing Chesterfield at BP and him annoying the whole of the Chaddy by dragging an injured Latics player of the pitch..... Think it was Paul Reid?
-
I don't know him Lags. Mark is same age as me but he grew up with his grandma rather than my Aunty (my dad's sister). He then moved to Mid Wales (think he was late teens). You'll Stan then....small world. Used to play with Mark (and Stan) for the The Fleece in Hyde and district.
-
My cousin (he's a bit of a tvvat), Mark Williams was signed from Newtown (League of Wales) by Shrewsbury......before moving to Chesterfield when they had that Epic FA Cup Semi Final at OT, against the multi millionaires of Middlesborough with Juninho, Ravanelli and brigade.
He then played for Northern Ireland and Watford / Wimbledon in the Prem before going onto marry the biggest porn star in the UK.....Linzi Dawn Mckenzie....!

It's funny. I think my motive for coming on this forum is quite the opposite. Win or lose, I come on here to get excited about Latics, catch the latest news and rumours and look forward to the next game. Some people seem to only come on here (or comment) when bad things happen (or what they perceive as bad things). Case in point.....Yesterday afternoon I updated my squad graphic for the first time in months and added all the latest faces. To date there has not been a single post or upvote.
I'm happy to engage in calm debate about the specific finer details of managerial decisions made on or off the pitch. But too few of the less positive fans on here seem happy to do that. Its too much of the over generalized, black and white, over emotional and most often of all a speculative brand of pessimism that I see.
Thats where I am at Mr Starbuck.

Indeed he did. Apparently he played a handful of games late in his career. My dad always talks about what a great player he was.
RIP

Thanks for the rundown. He'll be a great player if he gets fit.
Like I said in the other thread he's had 30 minutes of football in just under three months, he was bound to look a little unfit. He was unlucky not to sneak one in at the near post just before Grounds scored, he also had a cracking effort from near the centre circle go just over the bar. He did well holding the ball up and wasn't afraid to try and pass through the defenders to a runner.
I really hope he gets some game time, because that's what he needs. You could see the quality.
Whenever I have seen him, he looks like a decent player.
-
Fair enough. I felt he was always trying to win the ball down the middle with his back to goal rather than running onto a cross though.
I understand where you are coming from but you have to win plenty of those as well.
How did Stead play today? And how do you reckon he suit us?
-
Cross the ball onto his head and see what happens.
Paraphrasing because I can't remember exactly, but LJ was quoted saying that out of 11 crosses into the box when Rooney was in the middle he won six of them and scored a couple.
Those eleven crosses were over the period August to early January and most of them were delivered by Montano.
We either didn't play with wingers or the wingers didn't cross the ball into the middle.
I was fuming when five minutes into the Peterborough game Worrall did exactly what Rooney needed and put a fantastic cross into the box from about 30 yards down the wing. Shame they didn't play together...
But hey, what do I know?
I'm sure we just have different opinions and that's fine.
However I saw him lose out on so many headers it was unbelievable. I said it on here ages ago that I thought he was :censored: with his head and got jumped on by several who were saying "we shouldn't expect him to win headers because he was too small"???
Can't have it all ways.
-
Nothing against Rooney whatsoever but quick ??? He must have been wearing extremely heavy boots for latics. I'm staggered by this not the fact he is scoring.
Exactly what I always though "concrete boots".
I reckon there are a fair few non league players would look decent in Scotland to be honest.
Having said that, I have nothing against Rooney and wish the guy well. I'm sure he's a decent lad, but I didn't see the player that some on here saw.
-
Can't change a winning side surely?
-
We didn't play to his strengths
What were they? Heard this many times but didn't witness any if I'm honest.
-
I wouldn't say am a negative type but I will say how I see things. Now all those who are going on about those that go on....what's the difference?.
As for the Corney out people, doesn't Corney himself say out? He always say's when the right person comes along to take the club forward he'll sell. That tells me he feels he's not the person to take it forward. I also believe how the club/ground/land is now carved up it will be difficult for that right person to come in.
Great win today I very much doubt any Latics fan, moaner or not wants the club to lose games.
I wasn't on about you Lags.
I was making the point that when we lose, there are far more topics and threads than when we win. It pisses me right off if I'm honest.
-
Probably celebrating 3 points the same as everyone else.
Some only come on here to have a go though!
They are always quiet when we win, yet when we lose there are 5-10 threads about Corney out or Johnson out or somewhere along those lines.
The negative man wins every time he loses!
-
Fantastic result this.
Where are all the negative dickheads who were moaning last night?
-
Love this site me.
8 months ago - "get him out.... He's :censored:...."
Now - "can't believe we have let him go, we will end up non league"
-
A non goalscoring midfielder, he'll fit right in here...
Do you ever have anything positive to say?
You don't ever once offer anything other than moaning and whinging about everything do you?
-
taxi for dayton ? he is a poor mans joe colbeck,
Far from it.
You are either on the wind up or feckin clueless...
My guess is feckin clueless.
-
I saw people walk out of The Chaddy at 4-4!
No way?
Seriously? Now those leaving at half time can be forgiven (those of you you who deny you ever thought about it are insane or happy clappers of the highest order), however to leave at 4-4 when there was only ever going to be one winner is just mental.
-
Hahaha, you are obviously still feeling very silly for walking out and missing the best half we have played for a long time. No.....it's not everyone else's fault.... It's your own fault.Really? You did watch us put in another insipid shower of :censored:e performance only days after we threw Walsall another 3 points that they barely earned? Or did you not see that drivel? I didn't see Port Vale but I heard it was more of the same.
-
HahaThe wife's just gone upstairs for a soak in the bath. If Sir Gary wants to pop round i'll get her to shove up and make room for a big 'un...
-
How come you was watching his "groin area"?There was a spell late in the game when Worrall appeared to be suffering from pain in his groin area. He was grimacing for a few minutes, but he soldiered on and played his part in that amazing finale.
Hope he's not suffered a fitness set-back.
-
Anyone who can't appreciate how good Harkins was today can :censored: right off.
You know nowt about football if you don't realise how good he was.
Latics bad weather conditions matches ?

Rochdale away, when it was abandoned.
Got stuck in tea time traffic and it took an hour and a half from Stalybridge....and when we got there it looked like every seat was taken. Stood at the front and got absolutely drenched for the 5-10 mins that it lasted.
I would have happily died of hypothermia to stand in that vociferous atmosphere though...it was the loudest I have ever heard Latics fans.
