:censored: me we have the most negative fans in the country. Get a grip man, we have a young manager with a new team and our only real problem this season has been scoring goals
This.
-
Their bench went absolutely banana's in front of us main standers at 0-3, but they didn't like it when we all ran down to them at 5-4 and Kevin Russell (their bald headed assistant was telling me to :censored: off). They don't like it up em.
Ended up having a big man hug with some bloke at the end (think it was pukka).
Bizarre how football gets us.
-
What odds? I thought about it and so wished I would have done it.I think that the the best £2.50 I have ever placed on a bet, at 0-3 thank you Latics!!
-
OopsAwaits the backlash but today's only ending badly. I'll look like a dick if I'm proved wrong but it's a waste of a Saturday. Come on Tics anyway
-
Do you think we can get a refund on the above?
He will do us.
I did mean the one holding the banjo.
-
talk in Scotland is that he was on £2500pw here and he's agreed something similar up there.
That amounts to £15k per goal (based on league matches).
Anyone still happy with what he did here?
-
Yes but that's not what you said before you edited your post and his cup record makes his total record look better. FWIW Philliskirk has 2 league goals in 18 league appearances.
I was talking of league matches.
Its the league that counts IMO!
Besides, all of these "good luck Adam, he is a nice lad and was just unlucky" posts don't wash with me.
He was on a big wage and promised to do so much......yet he was less than :censored:e!
-
Happy with this!

Points out that Rooney has scored 7 or 8 in 33 appearances (the club say 8, soccerbase says 7), and wonders if the league scoring rate of other players should be questioned too?
FWIW I think there is a good forward in Rooney, and he could well turn out to be a good "buy" for Aberdeen, but he was obviously on a good wage and wasn't really value for money, considering he is probably our 4th choice striker, and 2nd and 3rd choice strikers might not be earning 50% of his wages. I can see us getting a new striker in as his replacement and can see us not having to pay that new striker what we were paying Rooney.
You can point out what you like, but he has still scored 4 league goals in 24 appearances.
-
Im gonna plump for whoever the new striker is. I cant wait until he signs, scores 1 penalty in 4 games and gets booed out of the club.
You make it sound like he has only had 4 matches to impress.
He scored 4 league goals in 24 appearances and was lucky to get that many.

What about the cup money from last season and this ? so far more players have gone out than come in and no transfer fees paid.
That's my worry BP
-
If you look at the number of players bought, then for me SC has backed each of his manager.
LJ is a long way off going yet, but if this continues as long as it did with PD then there will be no choice(I am hopeful it won't as LJ changes things whereas PD never did) but if it stays the same that will be 2 rookies it did not work with so a proven guy would be the next choice.
We have to sell to survive, but hopefully the new stand should give us that bit extra we need.
It's nowt to do with the amount of players brought in IMO singe. More to do with how much we can pay them........ If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
-
Brentford?
Apparently their budget is 10 times bigger than ours.
-
Anybody taking a job as manager of Latics knows the score.
Johnson took the job knowing the budget. Even suggesting it was bigger than he needed to be competitive.
Doubling the budget with "investment" is no guarantee of success.
Can't disagree with that.
I just reckon whoever is in charge will be on a hiding to nothing without any investment.
-
This is my biggest worry.
Where would we be if we hadn't had money spinning FA Cup ties for the 3rd season running? No investment = disaster.
-
Is anyone still willing to give him a chance??? I gave up on him a long time ago but who, just who will pay money for him?
Jesus, I have been one of his biggest critics but he didn't even play yesterday.
-
Awful miss for Rooney.
Awful penalty as well... it ain't working out with us and him is it?
-
Might be wide of the mark, but I heard its Roger Wylde
-
He certainly doesn't look naturally gifted and had to graft his bollocks off.
I would settle for 11 grafting their bollocks off every game though.
-
Wow........no really, wow.Really? I thought there were flashes but he was anonymous in the second half.
Certainly not consistently in the game over the 70 or so minutes he played.
He's still settling in, so I won't right him off, especially when he went up to JCH after he skied one in the first half, perhaps a captain figure in disguise?
My guess is you don't go very often? He took a standing ovation from 99% of the ground today. My guess is you were one of the 1%?
Not the most gifted player, but he ran his bollocks off and when he could do no more, was honest enough to admit he needed subbing.
-
Kieran, you said stands mate...you musnt sit in the main stand upper? he took one bad free kick the other week and a lad behind said "get him off, he's :censored:s, always will be" so my points not over exaggerated at all
Not one bloke in the main stand upper. It was very much exaggerated.
-
Let's not over exaggerate it shall we? "Those slagging him off from the stands" is wide of the mark.he'll start proving those who slag him off from the stands constantly wrong - he's been improving week on week, today's game is testament to that
A few have questioned his ability on here. No complaints from me today, I thought he played tremendous.
-
I have criticised Mellor on many occasions, however he was immense today.
Unlucky not to get MOM I thought.
-
I wonder if Sidney Harbour's any hopes for a return?
I wonder who will Bridge the gap?
