  1. Fane seems to be one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment obviously Richie rates him and the job he does for the team, a very important role that he does very well, if the lad could pass he wouldent be playing at this level, but that is something he can definitely improve over time, his running with ball has got better he can now carry the ball up the pitch which he couldent do before he did create a very good chance yesterday with his direct running and a pass across the box but no one anticipated it, so a good prospect in my eyes, also a very likeable character in the club and amongst the fans puts 110% in every game, he is still young and will only get better !

I thought Hunt was poor today. Gave the ball away several times when put under pressure and beaten to the ball too easily.

Hunt did ok considering he had to mark Calvin Andrew all game who is a handful due to his size, kept him quite so did his job really

Grayson's stock will be higher than having to stoop to take the Bury job, surely?

From the outside it looks like Sunderland are the issue, rather than Grayson..

Bury isent a bad proposition to step into whoever goes there will have a decent squad to inherit, a ambitious chairman and the Carrington facility’s to work at

  4. Today proves how big a player Placide is for us he provides the base for our team, Ruddy parried 2 that lead to 2 goals, I think Johnny would of caught the cross for their 3rd he has miles better awareness and handling and distribution then Ruddy, he put his foot through everything, I think Ruddy makes a good save initially  for their first unlucky with it falling right in the path of their striker, we started very poorly today, difficult conditions was always going to be tough  after the effort we put in Tuesday and Scunthorpe having the weeks rest.

I thought Scunthorpe were a decent side closed us down constantly and when they won the ball they could find men with quick passing and were good on the counter. Omrani was poor today every pass was to an opponent and was rightly subbed, Queensy came on and gave us a lift we started to get back into the game with Byrne getting on the ball and picking his passes. Shows the spirit we have to fight back from 2 down but on another day Doyle bags at least 2 he had a bad day today, so unlucky the way the ball ricocheted into their wingers pass for the winner, Dummigan had a good game again, I thought Hunt was our MOM dident put a foot wrong all game, hopefully Johnny is back for the next league game he is a huge player for us !

Okay, it's negative but it's not unrealistic either.

I'm sure he is enjoying his football here, but if a Blackburn come in for him in January and it's down to who can offer the most in wages, who do you think he'd join?

He's on 8k a week apparently. Can we afford to get close to anything like that?

It's okay enjoying where you work, and money isn't always the deciding factor, but in a lot of cases it is, along with relocating etc.

Doubt it our current highest paid player is Ryan Flynn and he’s on £2,800 a week

That's strange because he certainly put in the effort during matches, it was the goalscoring aspect that let him down.

You actually hear trainers say about top horses they only come alive on race days, so maybe he needs careful handling with a new man at the reigns.

RW has seen something in him I think which will hopefully help him become an even better player.

Yes I also think Tony Philiskirk can improve his game as do similar to what he did to Matt Smith

It was a great finish!! He showed strength to hold off the last man and the finish was superb, very well struck.

I have said it before and i will say it again, there is a good player in Hollaway.

I seen something on the Wycombe forum a while back saying it’s known that Holloway doesent enjoy being a pro footballer due to the hard work you have to put in strange I know, he obviously has talent and Wellens alluded to him being lazy in training in his post match interview last night and said he can go far in the game if he puts the effort in

  8. Amazing we looked very leggy and tired tonight, Gardner and Byrne dident have there best games for us but still contributed to a great goal, one touch passing between them both, Davies and Doyle with a great finish, we started the second half poorly and Bury took advantage, I could see them scoring again when they had a spell for about 10-15 minutes obviously their goal gave them a lift be we managed to weather the storm, Kean Bryan excellent, Also Dummigan has a great game again, raced back to make a couple of last ditch blocks when we were in trouble down the left against Greg Leigh Burys best player. I was hoping we could hold on for the draw, but Placide is a hero, makes a great save from Beckford and most keepers would hold onto that and take the point but his distribution and vision is outstanding, picks out Holloway who had the strength to outmuscle there CB and a great finish, buzzing for Holloway, the scenes at the end were fantastic, what a great squad and team spirit we have, when you think we have players like Mcglaughin and Duffus, Tope and the Gymafi all to come back we are looking very strong going forward !

  9. I think Omrani should of been on earlier and also Gerrard for Doyle to tighten things up but lots of positives to take again Wellens still learning, that first goal was sublime a move starting with Placide, love the way we are playing at the moment need to beat Bury on Tuesday should be a good atmosphere, MK very tough place to go again we never ever win there !

  10. Just seen on transfermarket.com Doyle is contracted to Preston till 2019 Byrne 2020 to Wigan it has Doyle currently valued at £600K and Byrne at £900K and that’s without wages, even if the takeover does get completed I doubt very much Abdullah will have £1.5M to splash out straight away on these 2

Don't want to go OTT but again last night he looked a class above. He's fast (ish), can finish, puts a shift in but thing i've noticed more than anything these last few weeks is his hold up play. Something we haven't had for years. The amount of balls that go up to him, that he holds and will either get a throw in and lay the ball off is quite incredible. Half of it comes down to how good his touch is.

Starting to feel he's one of the best strikers we've ever had in this league. Porter, Beckett and Hughes are obviously all up there. If we can keep hold of him and he bags 20, he'll join and surpass them.

Really starting to think he's our best striker in 20 years though ....

Shame he’s not “ ours” though

The fact Paul Terry was in the directors box indicated to me Wellens has got the job.

The combination was suggested last week.

Peter Shirtliff and Ian Baraclough also in the directors box taking notes just helping out or being brought back as part of the setup ?

  13. Outstanding today we battered them for all the second half, they had a few balls in but we dealt with everything, Placide is just a magnet for collecting the ball, Byrne was unreal but special mention for Fane who had his best game for us, we know he can’t pass but thats not his job won every tackle and header, then Byrne comes and collects it off him. Gardener what a tank he has on him aswell very good player and gives 110% every game.

Rovers are are a decent side with some good players but we dident give them a minutes rest second half got in there faces and they became sloppy and started to panic with the ball, our defence was solid Clarke back to his best today and Dummigan also had very good game which is good to see. We will be very lucky to keep hold of Byrne it looks as if he his a cut above this level of football so let’s enjoy him while we’ve got him hopefully Gardender can step up and take his role when he goes come January.

Wellens has to get the job ! Every single player fighting for the shirt and some of the best football I’ve seen Latics play in a long time, if he doesn’t then it will be very harsh on him, surely Abdullah can see the quality in him ? Onto Bradford I’d be happy with a point there but they lost to Bury today so no reason why we can’t go there and win again if we keep playing like this. Up The Blues !

  14. I can see what’s going on here Corney is clever, he knows Scholes has never wanted the job, bad press about the wages not being paid last week then meets with Scholes for “advice” lights fuel to the mangers position fire knowing full well he would get world wide exposure job done ??
