I suppose the fact that RW said that he’d stay as Assistant under Seedorf means that he might consider the same under somebody with the playing pedigree of Scholes. If I were in a position to offer Scholes the job I would be making Wellens assistant as a pre-condition.

Wellens is a massive Utd fan so I think he would be all for working with Scholes possibility they already know each other from their time at Utd and Wellens also played for Salford City for a short while

  2. So is Gerrard in the wrong for airing this ? doubt the club would be happy but he’s got every right, it’s piss poor again from the top not delivering on wages when they are due, it will be common knowledge to a lot of players. Who would want to come and play there football here when wages are payed late time after time, you can’t run a business like this no wonder we are where we are !

  3. Could depend on what there contract situation is at their parent clubs not sure how long they have left, Byrne is obviously surplus to requirements at Wigan but they won’t want to lose him for free, and could they change there mind and bring him back if he’s preforming week in week out, we may have a chance if his contract is up next year it would decrease his value somewhat, Doyle on the other hand maybe still in Preston’s plans if he starts banging the goals in, I think we have a greater chance with signing Byrne permanent.

  4. If they keep this form up though other clubs will be interested in January and they will probably pay more than us, if we manage to sign one of them permanently I would be over the moon both highly unlikely though even with investment, I’d say Byrne is worth at least £250,000 and Doyle slightly more the more he socres the less likely we are able to sign him unfortunately

  5. So we’ve got two very good players on our hands (on loan) what do we reckon they are worth in the market ? I doubt we will be able to keep both beyond January, even with Abdullas investment I think it will cost us a whack to sign them both permanently  so it may even come down to keeping one permanently and losing the other, so if you had the choice who we would we rather sign on a permanent ? For me Byrne younger and could fetch a large fee in the future if he keeps his level of performance up, Doyle is a brilliant striker for our level but I think the area we’ve lacked previously is a proper creative midfield player who can create for the strikers, so this is up for debate what we thinking ?

It feels right seeing TP on the touchline, somebody like Wellens is going to benefit massively from having him alongside him. But we all know where he would rather be, which is a shame because we do seem to thrive when TP is involved with the 1st team.

We always seem to do well when TP is helping out can't be just a coincidence shame he won't take it on full time he's happy just doing his youth role, I would be all for a Wellens and TP team, Wellens clearly knows his stuff and should be seriously considered I think majority of fans can get behind him !

  7. I'm really warming to giving Wellens a chance comes across really well in his last 2 pressers, obviously very knowledgeable about the game, seems to have a good relationship with the players knows the club and someone we the fans have a connection to, however I doubt the new investors would like him to take it so hopefully he sticks around after they take over.

The amount of these injuries that we have (non contact injuries, basically pulled muscles) is astonishing and totally unprofessional. Something is very wrong in the training and fitness regime.

Maybe Harbin working them to hard ? Was always known for his rigourus fitness training, gets teams very fit stamina wise but more chance of fatigue injuries ?

Banks put in a great 50/50. He's definitely taken note of the stick he's got

Banks was awful when he came on nearly cost us the game when he dribbled into his own box and got tackled then should of been a penalty when he pushed the player over, Placide saved his bacon with two wonder saves, he give the ball away a couple of times two made a couple of golf clearances that's it ?

  10. Banks and Bryan owe him a pint made some outstanding saves when it was 1-1 the Banks cock up when he Double saved saved with his legs then tipped over a Maddison curler that was destined for the top corner was unreal, then the Bryan back pass he was already aware of it to come out and clear, I counted at least 4 superb saves that kept us in the game, not only that but his distribution and commanding of his box from corners was excellent ! Maybe Shez reluctancy to play him was his downfall ?

    Shez in.  Interesting.

So if it was a stark choice between Shez in or Investment with Shez out, which would you choose?

I suspect we will get both. But it's an interesting question for some here to answer.

Shez in the investment isent going to be massive it's not like these guys are multi billionaires they will be putting a few extra quid in from there company JL2 which will enable us to bring in there clients to the development squad for free and we will getting the best ones to sign for the first team

  12. Defence is a massive worry, to let a 2 goal lead slip in 2 minutes is criminal, good job Doyle scored with a great header otherwise it would of felt like another defeat, i just hope we can keep hold of Doyle, Byrne and Bryan beyond January what a difference they have made quality players for this level, I'm sure there will be other clubs interested if they keep this up. We never do it the easy way do we ! Onto Saturday
