Bit misleading re Maidstone
Yeah. What, one or two divisions below us in 1991?
Plus if we're going with where clubs were 26 years ago it's not much of an argument.

I have no problem with youth players coming through if there good enough, but I remember the mcnivens and tipson plus many many more that weren’t god enough. It’s too early to say the current crop will make it.
Agreed. The youth players actually have to be good enough. Although I always thought Scott McNiven got a bit of a raw deal, he was solid and unspectacular but better than other full backs with bigger reputations (hello, Michael Clegg!). Played a hell of a lot of games but suffered from lack of competition.
-
Reckon he's been offered reduced terms or a rolling deal, just in case he can stay fit and recover some of that early promise. I doubt he'll sign though.
Edit: on the subject of McLaughlin.
-
McLaughlin is out of contract so we won't get a penny for him. Kyeremeh barely played so nobody will offer money for an unknown with a season of injuries.
I'd let Maouche and Gerrard go too, but that depends on someone wanting them and their undoubtedly non-trivial wages. I'd also let Davies, Amadi-Holloway and maybe even Clarke and Placide go, but again it's all academic unless somebody wants them. Paying up contracts wouldn't be cheap.
I'm exciting a few youth players to sign pro deals too. Maybe they'll go out on loan, maybe they'll get more of a chance with us in League Two.

Some music I've listened to and enjoyed this year. Haven't watched videos all the way through so no idea if any are NSFW.
In no particular order.
Ghostpoet - Many Moods at Midnight
Monster Rally - Giant Leaves
Pye Corner Audio - Resist
Serpent Power - Colour Out of Space
Micah P Hinson - I Sleep Tonight
Suuns - Watch You, Watch Me
Roll The Dice - Buried (Pär Grindvik Edit)
HOLY - All These Worlds Are Yours
Efrim Manuel Menuck - Pissing Stars
Rafael Anton Irisarri - Oh Paris, We Are Fucked
Odd Couple - Westend
Milk Disco - Welcome to the Milk Disco
Father John Misty - Mr Tillman
Orielles - Sunflower Seeds
Momus - Marquis of Sadness (an old one, this)
TVAM - Psychic Data
I especially like the Micah P Hinson and HOLY tracks. The Father John Misty song is growing on me.
Also enjoyed the recent MGMT (One Thing Left To Try) and Beach House (Dive, Lemon Glow).

Paul Green signs one year deal at Crewe.
Gary Harkins moves to Queen of the South.
-
Yes. Decent spine to the team for next year shaping up. Just need to get them to perform.
-
First post edited to reflect Stott contract extension (to end 2019/2020 plus further year's option).
-
If I counted correctly, this season Sky showed 16 League One and 5 League Two games (plus the play-offs). Coventry appeared once. Barnet got the most games (two). So it's not going to be a moneyspinner, really.
(Are there any other broadcasters showing EFL games? I didn't think so.)
-
Has there been any announcement on which - if any - youth players have been offered or signed pro deals for next season?
It normally happens around the middle or end of April. I appreciate first team worries and an uncertain future may have delayed decisions, but if we're making decisions on first team players' futures surely the youth ins and outs will also have been decided by now?
Other than Hamer signing a pro deal I've seen no news.

Ex-players shown the door so far:

Don't want to run the risk of him claiming unfair dismissal if they hadn't renewed his contract whilst he was suspended? Given he had played in 90% of our games this season.
I'd be surprised if anyone successfully argued that not taking up a contract option was evidence of unfair dismissal.

No real shock there except the contract offer to Ryan McLaughlin which Is a surprise to me!
Contract offered doesn't mean accepted. Wouldn't surprise me if it was peanuts or a pay-as-you-play deal. Reckon some of those offered terms will not stay.

34. Tom Hamer (2019?)
Pretty sure he's on a two year deal, so 2020.
-
Haha, glorious.
-
I would expect if there's any truth in it that he'd be a backup, possibly to replace de la Paz (who I think only has a one year deal).
Skimming a few match reports he's apparently had a very good season for FCUM, albeit capable of the odd howler. Still only 24 though.

McEleney has taken the number 16 shirt from Menig (it's on the official website).
He's listed by the club as a striker but everything I've read says he's an attacking midfielder.
Other first team shirt numbers:
31 Harry Robinson (midfield)
41 Ryan Scholes-Beard (midfield)
49 Ned Dry (forward)
50 Chinedu Uche (midfield)
All of the above are youth team players.

It's exactly what's happening. Unless like on August 31st, Wellens can do what Shez did and beg for a play or two of his own.
And having caught up on this topic....the fact we are offering out Ryan Mac on a free "to free up wages" is extremely fucking alarming. I know AL isn't promising to splash the cash but freeing up the wages of Ryan Mac who can't be on a massive wedge (and is capable if he can stay fit)...this is the sort of stunt Corney would be pulling. But I've got to trust that Simon Corney...he did say he would only sell to someone who could take us further. Just not sure which "further" he is relating to......
8hrs to go...
Not sure that McLaughlin will be on that small a wage. And is he out of contract in the summer? I'm absolutely not comfortable with losing him, but if he's going anyway, is consuming a fair chunk of wages, and isn't setting the world alight in the remainder of his time here, I wouldn't be panicking.
Although there's a few "ifs" that make me very uneasy... -
Sky sources understand Bradford have agreed a fee with Chesterfield to sign striker Kristian Dennis.
And Chesterfield are in talks to sign Shrewsbury attacker Louis Dodds.
From Sky.

Who else is on loan? Mind blank!
Benyu.
Plus technically Menig, although I assume he won't bother the squad even if we can't end the loan.
Can only have five loanees in a matchday squad, I think.

It’s missing the point singe. I’m not saying he has to play them or he’s fired. Your right, he would of gone by now. I’m talking about a hefty chunk of the squad never playing, and aren’t gonna play. Why? Because the manger doesn’t fancy them. Simple. That can’t be good for them, the manager or the club.
How is stockpiling footballers who aren’t good enough, a positive thing?
I don’t disagree with the general point you’re making, but couldn’t you argue we’d already tried stockpiling other players he didn’t fancy – Banks, Flynn, Osei, etc?
