Yes he has but I don’t think he’s here for the long haul. I think the reason we went for Mellon was to try and get us up or in to the playoffs at least this season ….its not happening unfortunately and it’s looking like another complete rebuild.

IMO He’s not improved any of our players or the way that we play at all and I’m just not convinced that he is the man we should be relying on.

It would seem crass on the boards part if Mellon was only here to get us into the play off's this time around given the 3 year contract. Can't see that myself. Sure they hoped for play off's, who wouldn't?.

Because we have a manager who does the following.

Drops players inexplicably after a good game.

Picks players who aren’t in form because they are ‘leaders’

Massively over rotates and doesn’t let partnership’s build.

Is more concerned with not conceding than first rather than scoring the first goal.

Plays players needlessly out of position when he has others who can play the position naturally.

Wont play any youth players to bring some energy or zip.

The players need take some responsibility- no question. But ultimately you can’t sack 25 players. .

    It's the manager then.

From the kick off today we had possession it was passed backed to Hudson who promptly hoofed it up towards Garner to try and win (he didn't), that was a pre planned move and set the tone, Garner won nothing all day and neither did Norwood, it was pointless.

The first 30 proved the tactics employed today were utter garbage.  Mellon has to take responsibility for that full stop. I am still firmly a Mellon in guy still,  but today was down to him. Aided by these players.

They’re on the schedule link. Each match listed there. Nearer kick off the match will then have an arrow to click through to the stream.

Replays can be totally random in my experience in terms of when they’re put up to watch. Next morning, 3 days, a week. Could be anything!

Very good point that. Never realised they changed status nearer kick off.

    It really is unsustainable.

Reading today that Wrexham's owners lost £5m to get them promoted last season.

I always think back to the early years of the Premiership when Jack Walker bought the league for Blackburn.

Wonder what the equivalent money would have bought him now?

I support the Rothwells and am grateful for everything that they have done for us, but they are clearly no fools and we ought not to expect them to throw their wealth into a money pit indefinitely.

The likes of Brighton and Brentford do well in regards to the money pit. Sold many a player and found cheaper replacements to help out.

Southampton did it for years until their failure to replace players one season.  That's the risk with this policy.

  7. A good few factors contribute to what people spend, which everyone of us knows about. Necessity spending first. Then it's the amount of disposable income being the next biggest. A persons perceived wants/interests/leisure/time and the enjoyment gained from that activity being paid for.

Regarding ST's in particular then the level of disposable income available will be a big one. Matched with whether Latics and football in general being their go to interest/bag. Enjoyment/Entertainment is certainly up there as a main reason and that could purely be for the social side of it.

Then we have those with the disposable and the affiliation to the club who see it as helping out financially. I'd wager plenty of these have missed a good number of home games this season and the money wasted isn't a driver for them not renewing again next season. I've missed loads this season whether it be through work, family commitments or lethargy to the dross. I am certainly in this category these days.

The one thing and the biggest thing that increases sales is a winning, entertaining team. If the club shop is buzzing it means we are top of the league.

I hope for the Rothwell's sakes sales remain buoyant.

I have a big problem IF we do get there, which is a big if. We were originally going on holiday on the Saturday, but I realised in time and managed to change it to the Sunday. I cannot change now, and it’s all paid for. I wouldn’t even be able to watch it as I’d be in the air for the entire game.
After recent weeks I doubt i’ll need to worry, but what would others do in that situation?

Go on holiday. The result won't change.
