Not sure why people are saying we’re 352,clearly 442 with Kitch ahead of Hogan down the left side.Hammond on the right ahead of Sutton.Think Green will come on 2nd half, give us an outlet, games there for the taking.

That was me miss reading the start, you’re right it’s a kind of 4-4-2 with a hogan as a midfielder, like I said, the “goal” on Saturday has gone to his head 🤣

  2. The set up is the problem again, we looked great at 4-4-2 so why feckin change it back to this crap? Hammond and Conlon are mostly bypassed or feeding off scraps. I don’t get it but obviously MM is the expert so he must be right. It’s just very, very hard to watch again and we are making York look like the play off candidates not us.

  3. Very good performance that, 4-4-f****-2! Proper midfielder in Conlon and Sheron and Hammond were solid and Green was excellent.

Garner and Mikey up top were a constant problem for their defence and ours was mostly untroubled apart from the scrambled goal in injury time.

Probably the best I’ve seen us this season although Maidenhead were pretty ordinary

Is it an open terrace or covered?

It’s in the corner, a small part behind the goal is covered but rest is open plus a section of the covered seats also available, decent snack bar on the terrace. I actually quite liked it, way better than Dorking in terms of view

  5. Big game this now, absolutely winnable and will really cement our playoff spot.

Hopefully we’ll take a decent following and need to put our frustrations aside and get behind the team

If anyone is undecided, it’s actually a good away day, ground is ramshackle but is the oldest continuously used ground in the country…they’ve been around since 1871! 14 years longer than us tbf! It’s right in the town centre so just park in one of the multi stories and find a pub 5 mins from the ground

  6. Blimey, I was right, there was something going on……

Some of you may have noticed that Frank is sitting off course. His family had a very emotional morning trying to make contact with him, but his son has just been in contact to let us know that Frank is fine and was asleep!🧡 He is correcting his course ready to arrive later on.

You can't blame the supporters for that home form, we probably have the loudest and most passionate fans in this League home and away and if I were a player I'd be all over that. Fans will get frustrated because we have players who just aren't brave enough, each week there's half a dozen who don't leave it all out there and that's unforgivable from a fans perspective, it's cup final week every home game but some of our players still think they can cruise through the game and that's why many of them are limited, it's the mentality of the group at the minute that's stopping us from becoming the team we all want.

on reflection, I’m not torn, this 💯

I keep banging on about it but I think a major reason as to why they can't play attractive football on the floor is because they just genuinely shit themselves when some oaf in the main stand starts barking at them.

You could see it last night with a few of them, and it has been the same throughout maybe the last 4 seasons. It sounds pathetic but they're just not mentally strong enough.

Combine that with a hungry, pressing pub side and we just get dominated. There isn't a quick solution to this. We've been beaten and kicked around for so long that the fan mindset in and around the ground will be radically different to nearly every side in the surrounding divisions. The only other one I can think of is Bradford.

I’m a little torn on this, just listened to Big Mike’ interview and he talks passionately about the crowd singing his name and even individual shouts of encouragement that really spur him on. Every game I go to our fans always start with passionate support and surely that should, according to Mike’ logic, inspire them to start the game on the front foot etc but in practice we roar the team onto the pitch, at kick off and the start of the game and then……..the players mostly start the game as though they have zero desire. I honestly don’t get it and I don’t remember it being like this in years gone by.

  9. Just listened to MMs post match interview and managed to jot most of it down in case you missed it:

”…we’re shite, not good enough to play entertaining or attacking football, going back to 8 at the back and grind out results because that’s all we can do. Everyone I’ve signed has a pulled hamstring or is a bit shite so it is what it is. Did I mention how shite we are at football? Anyway, we love Frank. See you at Maidenhead, wherever that is, it’ll be shite but we’ll battle all the way, or at least part of it, maybe. Christ I’m fed up, why are we so shite…….”

Totally relieved to get a home win under the belt and back into the zone. As GBP intimated, there is no patience in modern football and I am just as guilty as the next person. Forty odd years ago, I would have been cock-a-hoop with the win and not give a shit about the performance.

it’s the information available, I’m on a train home from work and 40 years ago I might have found out the score on the radio tonight or if not, tomorrow’s newspaper! I would have only seen the 2-1 and have been delighted, now we’re following every kick, every mistake, every comment and moan (me included)

The world has gone mad .
