Big Mike and Lundstram the only ones who've turned up tonight..

Anyone losing faith in MM yet? This squad of players are a bunch of completely weak minded losers but I was hoping he could do something with them, probably an unfair expectation really

I might start to worry we won't finish in the top 5 if we don't win tonight.
I say I might I probably won't.
Premature extrapolation- 4

We simply should be winning the next 3 games, no excuses, just get it done.
Will this squad do what’s needed, doubt it

He does nothing- apart from score.
His goals to games ratio backs it up, if had played every game I’ve no doubt he would be in double figures.
actually, in fairness it’s better than I realised! -

He has played three times more than any other striker. . . I’m not saying he isn’t class. However it’s not fanciful to suggest that Reid or Dallas would have a similar amount of goals (or not far off) if they had played every game.
You’ve seen Reid play right? -
It looks like he has found the winds again and is currently rattling along at 3.0 knots (186 nm to go) he’ll probably finish on the 15th so his Valentines kiss may be delayed slightly
He is an absolute inspiration

I didn't see this.
Obviously awful news, but this is a season where we aren't short of strikers at least. Mellon should still be able to find an effectively combination with what we have.
We’ve literally just signed Dallas and Garner, two strikers at this level who should score plenty of goals, almost any other NL team would be delighted to have them up top.
Midfield is our problem area and is hopefully being fixed otherwise we’ll struggle to be consistent

That tells you everything about why we win 4 then have a blip . Micky Mellon has constantly harped on about consistency and the need to work towards being consitant. So far this season only Chesterfield have shown anything like being consistant , its a crap league this year no one else is anywhere near this year . And to be honest I dont think they are that good .The current top 10 below Chesterfield are all inconsistent but in with a chance of a play off spot . For me we still need another midfielder in the Matty Palmer mould .We need to be in the play offs end of season which I would fancy us to possibly win . This league next year will be an absolute dog fight between about 6 teams with no run away leaders like the last two years.
Good post. I have been very critical of the team and was really angry after going to a Ebbsfleet to watch a complete shambles of a “performance” but you are right, everyone is the same, Aldershot have probably been the one team that has come out of the pack and shown an unexpected level of performance but they are hardly to be feared.
MM just has to find a formula to squeeze into the playoffs and then who knows, we will be the favourites due to our size (weird that!!) and support. For my part I am going to have to accept the lack of quality and consistency and just focus on the league table and nicking that 7th spot…it’s going to be hard on both counts!

Dallas won’t last 45 mins currently. Will wait and see on Garner, still baffled by his signing.
well 45 mins is longer than Norwood now so it is what it is -

Norwood is our top scorer on 16 goals. I think it’s then Dickinson and Reid on 5 each, both of which don’t make the squad.
So we are going into a run of fixtures with Nathon Sheron as our top scorer on 4.
You’d think Dallas and Garner will have a view on this- 1

Guinness have been on to see if you’re interested in entering a competition or summat. Season written off prematurely for the eighth time record I believe.
Cool thanks, you’re right though, why do I bother. Perhaps the best answer is to stop going to matches given that it is rarely enjoyable anymore and pretty expensive. -

He did. He came on and played right wing back...
sort of, Green naturally positions himself further forward and defending is an afterthought whereas Sachdev looked more like a right back with space ahead of him -
Having slept on last nights debacle I’m still really deflated and frankly angry about the shambles that MM and our half arsed players served up again.
The frustrating thing is the next games are Boreham Wood and Maidenhead and we’ll be back in mid table when we play them….they will be up for it, strong and aggressive like Ebbsfleet but with little quality and I fear we will have no answer but to play 7 at the back and lump the ball up to Mikey Fondop (if Norwood hamstring has gone then he is effectively done for the season)
I’ve pretty much lost faith in MM that he can organise and motivate this set off players and I think this season is another write off and a shocking waste of the Rothwell money as once again we’ll be rebuilding the squad in the summer and paying off contracts.
It is a mystery as to what is going on behind the scenes in terms of player recruitment and strategy

Great post, and spot on.
I salute you Dan.
I’m not sure I want to watch us from my armchair never mind doing 400/500 mile round trips.
Agreed although he won’t see us playing in Maidstone -

I think it might have something to do with him scoring 16 goals for us this season, when nobody else has got more than 5...
He plays every feckin game, Fondop and the others get occasional starts and mostly late substitutions -
The Royles and our two recent full time managers are spending the Rothwell family fortune very, very quickly. It presumably took them decades of hard graft to build it up and these clowns are pissing it away in a matter of months.
Why would you buy a football team eh?
-
I love this idea that Norwood is carrying us and we will be lost without him! Seriously? He barely features in most games, sure if he gets a few chances he usually takes one of them plus he scores any penalties we get but most of the time he is fighting for scraps and Fondop does that just as well, probably better tbh.
No other team has Norwood and yet there are 7 teams above us in the table
What we need is a midfield that can dictate a game

I reckon our front two today would probably be on as much as that Ebbsfleet starting eleven. Like everything else the recruitment has been done without any real plan and the fact we had eight recognised centre forwards on the books this week is testament to that, we still have six as we speak.
It’s a shambles and tbh MM has probably added to the chaos -

Having been away from Latics for over 5 years, I was cautious in my views after the shocker of a performance last week. My first time seeing Latics again, I didn't know any players and had read some really positive stuff on here. So, I thought last week was a one-off aberration. I played at a reasonable level and watched Latics for a long, long time before emigrating. On the evidence of the last 2 games, this is the worst Latics side I have ever seen. Perhaps not surprising in itself because we are now non-league, of course, but I never imagined we could be of such a poor standard. What is surprising is the amount of money we've reportedly been throwing at players. Who on Earth is sanctioning these deals (?) because, on the face of it, you've bought one huge pile of smelly stuff.
I`ll leave it at that because I can't add much more.
Having watched us for decades I am struggling with the transition to genuine non league mid table. You are 100% correct though, this is the worst squad of supposed footballers we have ever had at BP and I’m afraid this is the level we are at for the foreseeable future- 1
-
That was truly horrific again, I really have no idea what the tactics were and what the aim of the club is at the moment.
Hudson - MOM and kept us in it second half as he often has to. Still annoys me with his incredibly slow goal kicks and time wasting, his body language typifies this squad but at least he does his job.
Sachdev - Looked nervous early on, is at least an actual right back rather than Sutton being there but still looks very average and doesn’t affect the game
Kitch - Looks depressed most of the time, started well but faded and him and McGahey were a shambles defensively
McGahey - Yes Harrison what the fuck are you doing here? Dreadful player, so limited in his ability it is untrue
Hobson - Reminds me of an old Sunday league player I played with, absolutely wins everything off the ground but when the ball is on the grass he is an absolute donkey and just hoofs it to the other team
Raglan - solid again but very quiet and really doesn’t seem to organise the rest of the defence and I don’t think he realises (nor Hobson) that we have a midfield
Lundstram - possibly the worst so called midfielder I have ever seen play for Latics, can’t tackle, can’t pass.
Sheron - oh wait, maybe there is one as bad, runs around a bit, points a lot, shouts for no obvious reason, achieves very little
Conlon - I stood next to his family in the first half (seemed lovely people) they were pretty perplexed as to why we didn’t seem to be using our midfield for anything other than having a regulation eleven players on the pitch! I fear this poor lad has just made a very bad career choice
Garner - apparently he used to be a very good player a long time ago. So that’s nice. I genuinely didn’t notice he was on the pitch
Norwood - He must be so pissed off playing for us, mind you, doesn’t look like he’ll have to worry about that for a while now.
MM - So what is the plan Micky? What style of football do you prefer? Do you have a pathological hatred of midfield? Are you actually any better or different from DU? Is Melonball just Rhinoball with James Norwood?
The Fans - 263 at feckin Ebbsfleet on a Saturday night, is it really worth it anymore?

This is awful, stood next to Tom Conlon’ family and I think they’re still waiting for him to touch the ball
Its embarrassing how we’ve set up just to defend and try and hit them on the break with long balls, it’s turgid, boring and will probably work in the second half but fuck me this team is hard to like
Special mention to McGahey. WTF is he doing here?!
-
The squad is still bloated and full of poor players like Lundstram, Hogan, Sheron, McGahey, Green etc and it will take until the start of next season to sort the shambles out that DU and The Royles sadly created BUT this division is shite so we could still pull off a miracle this season even with the weak minded dross we have in the team
-
Sitting in the car park looking at the league table, they are firmly in the relegation zone and we are playing 6 or 7 defenders, it’s shite and presumably we’ll have almost everyone behind the ball, surrender possession and hit them on the break
3-1 to Latics

Just looked at the league table, we’re feckin awful but really should still make the playoffs!! If we don’t MM and these muppets really do have some questions to answer
