  1. Massive game tonight…will we get a Woking performance or a Fylde performance?

Absolutely crucial that we show the same determination we did on Saturday, dip a little and we will get stuffed and it’ll be back to square one.

Looks like we have only sold 150 or so which is shite but let’s see how many turn up on the day and more importantly if the team turns up 😀 (we took 267 midweek last year so surely this team and manager deserves at least the same if not more?!)

Wasn’t going to bother but enjoyed Saturday a lot so i’ll be there again tonight.

  2. Made a last minute decision to go and really pleased I did! We totally outplayed them and they just couldn’t get the ball off us. On another day it could have been 4 or 5 nil.

Everyone was solid, although I was a little disappointed in Ward and the substitution was spot on and Green made a real impact.

A couple of chances we missed near the end could have been goal of the season contenders…fantastic slick passing and clever flicks

Excellent travelling support but the atmosphere was dead tbh but very happy with the 3 points…need to follow up with a similar performance at Barnet

  3. New manager bounce for them? We got battered at Woking last year although we then face Barnet midweek again…the scene of probably our best performance and best win under DU

I suspect this team will get a point at Woking and lose at Barnet…although I’m Southern based I don’t think I’m going to bother with either sadly. Fed up of watching players pass the ball sideways and backwards and zero desire to win a game of football

  4. I’m a great believer in the individual character of players but there is also something else about how a group of players becomes a team..and often the manager is the key.

Take Pidge for example, Salford got rid of him because they felt they needed more quality to get them promoted from L2….so he comes to Latics, a struggling lower mid table team, he does well for us but we still get relegated…he goes to minnows and fellow L2 strugglers Stevenage….and promptly helps them to automatic promotion!

So was G.Neville wrong given Salford are still in L2 and Stevenage are promotion contenders in L1 now? Or, is the Stevenage manager simply able to organise and motivate a group of players and turn them into a winning team?

  5. It’s a massive shame but I think we are in a bit of a mess here, not catastrophic like it was under Blitz, BO and the Lemmies or with DU holding the reins but we have a completely unbalanced squad packed full of weak minded players..proper modern “snowflake generation” characters who are not going to battle their way out of this division.

The problem is many of them are on multi year deals and some no doubt on decent money….Frank has funded this and much of his money has been wasted or is tied up in medium term contracts.

It will take some time to unwind and shape a (hopefully smaller) squad that has the required ability, balance and determination to achieve something for this club.

It will be a miracle if Melon can do it this season

The manager has to take some blame, he started Nuttall and Dickenson from the start and I doubt there's any fan who's seen them would have done that.

The squad is packed full of weak minded, spineless players. The difference between poor, average and good in sport is significantly related to mindset.

This squad has no mental strength.

  7. I’ve slept on it and feel even more annoyed today!

This squad is garbage, it is full of exactly the wrong type of modern young player…think they’re good because they have a pro contract at a “big” club and are not willing to put in the work required to improve, and god forbid anyone criticises the poor little snowflakes

None of them are leaders on the pitch and I genuinely don’t think any of them really care, it’s just a job, they get paid in full regardless of their performance and they assume the manager will get fired way before they do.

If any of them played a pro sport that relied on individual performance and paid out based on achievement (Golf, Tennis etc) this lot would feckin starve.

This season is another write off and Mellon has a huge job on his hands.

It’s one game pal. I’m equally as disappointed. I’ve thought of nothing else but Latics since Saturday thinking we’re on to something here. Right now  I’m on my knees, gutted. But that’s football and as true supporters we should stick by them no matter what. Mickey will sort em and I’ll be there with renewed optimism Saturday.

It’s not 1 game though is it? It’s most of last season and most of this season

Anyway, it’s your time, your money. Free country and all that, I’ve just had enough

I still ask the question, did you think that last Saturday at Rochdale?

yes, this squad is packed with weak minded individuals but they have some ability and will win some games at this, the lowest level of professional football.

They are not remotely close to being good enough to challenge for promotion because they clearly lack the individual or collective desire to win and only perform to their ability occasionally (last Saturday I suppose but they still conceded 3 remember)

The feelings of a disappointing night.
I bet you weren't feeling that way last Saturday?

Of course there is a point, it's called football.
    See you Saturday.

nope, I’ve made other arrangements. This is not one night, this is the reality of this squad, they are spineless and not a chance I am going to waste any more money on them.

As for “Football” that requires a bit of passion and effort. Almost none of our players understand that.

  11. This entire squad needs to fuck off, they simply do not care about this club or their profession.

No desire, no application, no passion and no improvement. It is a disgrace that they get paid a decent wage and play football for a living when most of us have to work far harder doing something we don’t love.

I’ve finally been defeated by them and not going to bother going for a while, it’s sad but there is simply no point anymore.
