  1. Saw Eardley play for Blackpool against MK Dons on Tuesday. Had a crap game, gave the ball away which led to the Dons scoring and got skinned by Lewis Guy god knows how many times. All in all, can't say I was too impressed :P I wanted Blackpool to win because he was playing as well!

  2. I remember a couple of seasons ago when, early on in the season, we found ourselves bottom of the league even though Dirty Leeds had had 15 points deducted. And John Sheridan managed to turn that around into a respectable 8th place finish, with us even challenging for the play offs.

Now, my point is that the situation we're in now isn't as bad and I have a lot of faith that Penney will turn things around :) and for gods sake it's the beginning of September! The season has barely begun so you can't call for the manager's head just yet ;)

  3. I stopped trying to keep up with the classification of bands years back, when Emo was short "emotional hardcore", so some of these might not count...

I really loved Satyricons' Now Diabolical album, but haven't heard the new one yet, Age of Nero. Is it any good?

Also like Black Dahlia Murder, Job for a Cowboy, Pig Destroyer and you can't beat a bit of Napalm Death.

Don't like the stuff that uses lots of keyboards etc (unless it's full on Ministry / KMFDM / Front 242 etc).

Saw Children of Bodom live for the first time this week (supporting Slipknot / Machine Head - and Jesus did I feel old at that gig!) and they were far better live than recorded.

Can you recommend anything a bit more recent I should check out?

Oh I saw Napalm Death a couple of years back. Although I like the music, I can safely say it was the worst gig I've been to. I don't mind them talkin to the audience or whatever but to stand on stage and tell everyone how much you have politicians and organized religion is bloody annoying!

But yeah, you're not the only black metal fans on here :) can't beat the old stuff though like Emperor, Mayhem and Darkthrone

  4. Byfield was quality today, very impressive debut. Showed skill and never really stopped running. To be honest, I thought we were unlucky not to get one or two goals. Hughes had 2 goals ruled out for offside one of which seemed a dodgy decision to me and he managed to get a shot in a bit later after beating his man, only to hit the crossbar.

His first booking was pathetic though, smacked the ball out which was totally unnecessary and late on in the game, my dad was desperate for him to get subbed before he got sent off. Have to say he was unlucky with the second because it looked like he slipped and caught that Cobblers player rather than fouling him. Didn't really help himself by refusing the leave the pitch though.

Lids was rather frustrating today, proved that we're just crying out for someone with pace on the right.

Thought Maher and Allott were pretty good today, both got forward with Allott managing to get a few shots in.

Jones was disappointing as defending but quality going forward. Even Constantine with his lack of pace managed to cause a couple of problems, but nothing serious.

If I were Shez, I'd definately go with Stam and Hazell as our centre back partnership vs Cheltenham. Both won practically everything in the air, it was real no nonsense defending from them both and I honestly think Stam did enough today to keep Gregan out for the next couple of games.

  5. I never saw the point in leaving because we are getting beaten. If you do that then it’s 100% certain that you will go away pissed off, when if you stay there’s always a chance that you get to see at least a consolation goal that makes you walk away a lot happier.

That really irritates me as well cos how must the players feel? If they're losing they need the fans to get behind them not bugger off.
