  1. Oooooh idea time.

K bear with me on this one. I have a Reebok poster of Shevchenko in my room and the whole point of it is that Shevchenko is/was a brilliant striker, he wears Reebok, therefore you should buy Reebok to be like him.

And I was thinking, well, what is it about Oldham that'd make us worth watching? There's loads of stuff but the first thing that popped into my head was Neal Eardley. He's a Welsh international and he scores absolute screamers. So I was thinking about some sort of dramatic image of Neal Eardley scoring a screamer with a tagline of summat like "Neal Eardley - Welsh Wonder". You could have them for loads of players and plaster them around Oldham like having "Mark Allott - Returning Hero" so it kinda spells out this is Oldham Athletic and this is what you're gonna get in the upcoming season, therefore, you should come watch us.

    Catch my drift?

  2. When John Sheridan took over as manager, did we do anything major to promote it? I mean when Sven took over at City, they had like a million signs everywhere saying "Ol' Blue Eyes is Back" and I must say it got me quite interested.

Going off the more advertising idea, I think it'd be cool to see some sort of tag line for the upcoming season that'd sound as intriguing and make a non-fan think 'I wanna be a part of that'

  3. It’s all a bit vague to me as well, but at times Wolfy seemed to be playing wide left similarly to how he did that home game where he only played first half. Which I am also a bit vague about

Just to clear that up, Wolfy says he went off cos he'd picked up a knock in training and playing had aggravated it

  4. Yeah I agree it probably will end up being good for us

    BUT

I must say that it is absolutely ridiculous that Shinawatra is even considering sacking Sven. He's the best thing thats happened to their club for god knows how long and it just beggars beleif that he's being sacked after one season! City actually grew on me since Sven became manager so it's really bugged me this has

  5. Man Utd or Man City - I liked Sven as England manager and want to see him do well at club level

Liverpool or Everton - if I supported any Prem team it'd be Everton

Arsenal or Tottenham - wouldn't chose Arsenal over anyone until they start fielding English players

Southampton or Portsmouth - have a soft spot for Pompey

Newcastle or Sunderland - Newcastle think they are bigger than they are (agreed)

Rangers or Celtic - no idea why

Real Madrid or Barcelona - tough one, think I'll say Barca cos they have Messi

Ajax vs Feyenord - I think the name sounds better than Ajax

AC Milan or Juventus - they have Kaka and Maldini

Bristol Rovers or Bristol City - cos they aren't in our league

Boca or River Plate - dunno, don't know anything about either of them

Dortumund or Schalke - they have a player called Florian Kringe and I thought it was a cool name

  6. Few interesting points made in the interview:

He wants to keep Lids, Crossley and Macca

He is shouldering the some of the blame for this season

Wants to bring in 4 or 5 players

    He's already making enquiries

There's a couple of Polish players we're looking at

Still a slight chance of making the play offs

So all in all, I thought it was quite a positive interview ^_^

  7. i dont think we're ever going to get promoted relying on players like smalley or lids, theyre both nowhere near as good as taylor IMO. shez needs to pay whatever it takes to get a quality left sided midfielder, and stick taylor on the right.

id get rid of wolfy, kalala and thompson too.

Don't agree. I think on his day, Smalley can be absolute quality. Saturday was a good example of that, making that brilliant run down the right and setting up Taylor. If he gets more consistency and of course more confidence, then he'll be brilliant for us

  8. Am trying to bully me sister into buying my seat as a late birthday present :D

That reminds me, ages ago, somebody on here came up with an idea that when the stand gets demolished, they put some sort of boarding up around it so the fans can do some artwork. Anybody reckon that'll actually happen? Cos I think its a really nice thing to do
