Stafford Rangers away 7.30pm KO, Tuesday, 23 July per their website.
Right on my doorstep.
-
That is a really good listen, great memories, recommended.

How about a new manager lined up with FB sidelined to assistant? Rhodes making way to enable this?

Wonder where Byrne's mindset is now having see both Doyle and Bryan taking steps forward in their careers (I know they were loanees and Byrne is contracted). Surely if he wants to stay in the game his only option is to build bridges and (re)prove himself at Boundary Park. I love watching this lad play, Bunn must try and get the best from him, Byrne and Baxter purring in league 2 would be irresistible.

How's the match going anyone?
-
Hmm must be leaving us then.
-
What does that even mean?
-
Lee Croft, dietician.

Can't believe Maurice Whittle only got 3 goals that season, it seemed to me he scored loads of free kicks, the memory playing tricks. One of my favourite all time Latics line ups, so exciting as an eleven year old who'd just discovered Latics and the reason I'm a big fan of the tangerine kit.

I'd like to think that he is referring to the fact that players won't have the opportunity to choose to leave (rather than he might not be able to offload them). Hopefully clumsy rather than niaive but another example of an area where there's room for improvement...........I think he regularly gets misinterpreted which can paint him in a bad light unintentionally.

Can't imagine Ripley's stock has risen whilst at Burton and Bury, in fact it will have fallen, time for a fresh approach?
-
Well done a259, good predictions those, good luck.
-
Has it been rumoured that he's going to Wigan or are we jumping to conclusions?
-
I did, 9,088, very cunningly guessed at 25 below this to widen chance of getting more points!
-
Can't believe a crowd of only 6591 at Scunthorpe for a play off semi final! Particularly with Rotherham reportedly sold out their end.
Me and a259 were miles out.

Should have mine now Stevie.

I think it’s pretty unanimous with fans that Wellens hasn’t done enough to deserve another crack at it, so for an owner to persevere in the face of that is quite unusual
Not sure we can say its unanimous from a small percentage of OWTB voters but I take your point.

With the decision seemingly now made it looks like Wellens will stay. Time now to stop the criticism unless anything changes. He has his opportunity, perhaps it's really his second opportunity, to mould the team as he sees fit, he has the time and a budget I suspect that should make us competitive in league 2. He is a football man with history at the club, it's also his chance to make a name, failure will make it difficult to pursue a career in management in the top four divisions (Kelly, Dunn etc) so he will certainly be motivated. None of us are sure what went wrong this season but there are signs that Wellens can put together a side that can play winning and entertaining football, it will be interesting to see who he brings in. My hope is that he gets Byrne and Gardner playing more effectively together again, that looked incredibly promising for a while early on. A solid centre back and a Bryan type player in the holding role and more menace and hunger up front and who knows.

That’s what it’s all about lads, as long as those players put in the effort then we should get behind them regardless of any opinion good or bad about ownership.
