Had to smile when I read on the Port Vale message board after we beat Bolton, 'only two certainties in life, death and Oldham Athletic will never be relegated to league two'
-
Is this the longest post ever!,
-
Agree about the drum, will certainly stop some from going. It's had its time, get rid.
-
You've go to admire Green's work rate for the first goal, fantastic effort from him now he's got back a bit of form. Is he with us next season?
-
Gerrard didn't cover himself in glory for their second. Clearly good for us but he needs to shift that weight, heavy legged at the end and and it cost us.
-
Yes, that tackle was that bad, furious with Croft, unprofessional and to do that so early in the game too.
Holloway immense today and they look a good pairing up front.
We were probably shading it after 15 and while it took a period for us to get a grip after the sending off we were then at least as good as they were for the rest of the half.
We looked more dangerous than they did in the second half with 10 but then Wilson had to go, two yellows were the right call.
A penalty changes things, right decision, but again we looked like we might get something from it. Killer blow at the end but it was a superb strike.

Not raining now in Stafford so looking ok for tomorrow
-
I can see 11 points comfortably for us through to end of March, leaving us 4/5 points still to get in April.
Looking at the fixtures in April it will a bumpy ride if we still need to get 8 or more.

As good as mclaughlins goal was for me he was about to feed ngoo until he went to ground.
I agree, I think he was flicking it to Ngoo who fell, the ball broke and he took his chance.

Sorry state though that now even Champioship clubs regularly put out depleted teams for the FA Cup, takes the gloss off the giant killings for me. Well done Linciln for taking full advantage.
-
Might be a bit harsh this but I can't help thinking that in the desparate situation we are in Banks should have attacked that second ball that Ladapo headed in rather than back off. Against what most think I see him as a decent footballer but would question desire there. Harsh?
-
Once he's match fit he'll do well for us again, only on for a short period but set one up on a plate for McKay with a subtle header. Mackay unfortunately just doesn't seem to fit with us and despite his effort is probably one for the subs bench, he should have buried that chance.
-
Made mine up then years later find out we had a famous player with that name, what are the chances?...........
-
One thing stood out to me, and I'm sure BP will agree, every time Lincoln got the ball their instinct was to go forward, Ipswich, like many teams today went sideways or backwards in order to keep possession. You can only do that if you are good at it, Ipswich, like us, are not.
-
That score board at Walsall was really good as was their sound system.
-
No, Dunne was solid last night and should stay there for now, haven't seen anybody better at nonchalantly time wasting, not a good thing but made me smile.Looks like their goal once again stems from our left full back... Dunne again.
Throw wilson/law/dummigan in there
-
Hope the drum's not coming.

Game on tonight everyone, I'm going as its local for me.
Anyone joining me or will this just drive the old 'boycott the competition' debate again?
-
I always wonder about a players psyche, you tell them that if you help us to win games in the cup we can generate some cash to get in players to replace you! How is that thought going to inspire them. Perhaps explains why we lost at Lincoln.
-
They'll fancy this, at home big gate, nothing to lose but will they freeze in front of the cameras?
If we carry on the form of the last two games in particular and the defence remains as solid as it has been for most of the season we shouldn't lose this one. Cup shock or a safe entry into the money spinning half of the cup?
-
R
Only saying what I think.
AGAIN we evidently dominate the first half and should have 2 or 3 goals to our name and then comes the second half.
Yes we score- a deflection they all count anyway no complaints about that,
Disallowed goal and then they score and then we just seem to accept.. yeah a point will do. We then concede another!
Thank christ Carl stepped up but 3 points could have taken us out of the relegation zone. it just seems Robbo is happy to play for draws and hope in one of the games we might scrape a win. I want to watch a team who WANTS to win, not hold out for a point. 2 Points dropped
This is just a stupid and misleading post from someone who clearly wasn't there.
That was a very good performance with some excellent crisp passing and with a bit of luck could and maybe should have been a comfortable win. Robinson set up to win the game without a doubt. This was evidenced by the sight of four Latics players in the box trying to win the game in the last few minutes. For a team playing away there was not much to criticise about our approach.
Ripley not much to do and a superb save in the lead up to their goal
Back four, Law very solid, Clarke immense, Burgess didn't lose much,
Midfield, Banks and Flynn excellent, McLaughlin lively, Fane a nuisance but want to see more passes forward.
Strikers, both worked very hard but a little lightweight.
Looks like a good team spirit to me and nobody should fault their work rate. If they could perform like that at home not too many would complain (though the usual suspects would find a way).
Impressive tonight, this confirmed by the Vale fans I was sat with.

Honest interview. Glad he called out those he did. Would love to see them stutter and mumble when presented with facts that made them look as stupid as most know they are.
Obviously his comments have already been massively taken out of context and twisted beyond belief. Those will now become facts for people to band around on here.
If you can't watch it he basically said
-yes we owe Rochdale money, happens all time between league 1 clubs and normally kept under wraps but the bills always get paid.
- rightly called out the ***** on here who constantly slag him off and post absolute BS to go and meet with him and said the books are open for anyone to look at
- the figures mentioned here by those ITK are horse :censored: and that if someone comes to buy the club that will do right by the club then the price will not be an issue
- been China twice recently. Most investors want prem or championship clubs which makes sense so they are trying to convince these people that with the right investment we could be taken there
- gerrard is injured. Corney wants him when fit. Wanted him at beginning. Robbo doesn't want any of the free agents currently out there but as and when he does want players, as he has done in the past, he will give the manager the funds
-300k owed to HMRC and wages due this week so they will be paid as they always end up being.
-99% of fans are brilliant but disappointed with those who verbally abuse manager and players at games.
-O'Driscoll isn't here 7 days a week but is available whenever manager needs him and they sit and go through each game afterwards and he also comes in and helps with the players
If I've missed anything off apologies.
If I haven't twisted his words enough for you tough :censored:
Excellent summary, some people on here will pick holes in anything Corney does. He probably shouldn't listen too carefully to a small number of posters who would find fault in a promotion year.

Yep, good signing, he'll have a more consistent season with us this time.
