  1. Placide, at fault for winning goal I think, not much to do.

Bryan, steady again but distribution uncharacteristically poor at times.

Edmundson, really good, reminds me of Phil Jones

Hamer, looks ok, sensible sub though as Dummigan more of a threat.

Wilson, just ok, slowed down a bit this season in my opinion as age catches up.

Pringle, like this lad a lot.

Byrne, clearly as talented as anyone on the pitch, got better and more influential as the game went on.

Gardner, has his critics but nothing wrong tonight, these three should be a very strong midfield unit at this level.

    Maouche, nowhere near ready yet.

Davies, ineffective most of the game, better towards the end.

Holloway, battled well, won a lot of flick ons that led to nothing. Got his goal but just ok, should have scored with a header late on.

McLaughlin, much needed pace worried Shrewsbury, good cameo and good to have him back and available.

decent game with both sides wanting to progress. They had a little more guile early on and pace overall but there isn't really much between the two teams. They have the knack of winning this season, we don't. Sat near Wellens, looked really frustrated at the final whistle, must be desparate for a win (and a goalscorer).

  2. If that is actually Ollie commenting then that is a very sensible and reasoned response suggesting that he doesn't care about those keyboard 'Warriors' happy to abuse anonymously. Good luck to you Ollie whether turning out for us or for Tranmere, there are some uneducated idiots about that follow football.

  3. I am going with my son to the Shrewsbury match and we are thinking of sitting with the home fans to avoid being in a confined space with the drum! Yes it's that irritating.

Does that mean Shrewsbury will get our money rather than Latics? Not sure how it works these days.

  4. I think we should forget about this 'long journey' stuff, it's what footballers have to do and we are not too badly situated geographically are we, imagine if we played in Europe how would we cope.

I think that performance above any will convince the new owners that, if financially possible, we should secure the services of the loanees.

  5. I think some are now expecting too of much from Byrne, our whole game revolves around him, he shows for the ball, hardly misses a pass and has excellent control, he even nearly got the winner going just wide of the post. If we lose him in January then without a similar quality replacement hope of a top 6 place will disappear and we'll do well to get to mid table - yes, I think he's that important to us. Great football to watch just now with everyone buying into the short quick passing and plenty of movement. Wimbledon reminded me a bit of how we've played in the past, woeful and no ambition.
