Mentioned in passing on another thread and got a bit of interest so thought worth isolating.

Logically would probably need to be on a Friday before a home game and in the Oldham area.

If you are interested pop your name on here with your handicap (largely because that helps to identify a suitable venue rather than because it would be over serious).

I'd be in and I'm off 8.6 (but expecting to go up next week..!)

    8.6!!! You’ve obviously too much spare time..😂

Agreed Lundstrum strength is taking the ball to feet and turning a tight maker and getting on the front foot. However you need me more than one string to your bow to be a good midfielder.

His tracking back upon breakdown of play leaves lots to be desired.

We never seem to advance up the pitch when he receives the ball it invariably ends up back to where it came from or even further back.

That may have been, in part, due to the lack of movement from a generally non existent midfield but he’s really not shown anywhere near enough.

In his defence he did look to be gaining a little confidence towards the back end of the season and there could yet be a decent player in there, however, come August, he will need to hit the ground running as there will be no room for under achievers next season!

The big question is,  will Frank fund it to that point without the oldham folk backing him?

If fans aren’t turning up in sufficient numbers then there isn’t much point, however I don’t think we’re at that stage just yet.

If Frank backs MM, (and I think he will) to get the players in who he wants then with no FFP rules in the National League we have a chance to build a side capable of taking us up two divisions in quick succession.

We can’t afford any more mistakes with recruitment and next season is probably going to be a massive indicator as to the direction we’re heading over the next few years.

Another season like the last two and things might change somewhat.

It’s all on MM and I just hope he’s the right choice!

Call me negative but I don’t see a way back for the club.

the Rothwells don’t have the cash to get us out of this league with any level of certainty. Lots of things will need to come together for it to happen and I expect to be here in 4 years time. May be shorter if the stars align, but that’s a long shot.

from there we won’t establish ourselves as anything better than lower half l2 and will probably drop down again.

I think this is our level now and anything above that will be fleeting appearance when we are punching above our weight briefly.

in short, top half NL is our baseline.

Christ!!!! I’ve heard some doom & gloom on here but that IMO is total bollocks!!!

He gave an interview with the supporters Trust just over a week ago...

Yes he did, but that was only available to trust members where just about everything was covered apart from what fans consider to be most important…the football!

People need something to moan about here

People also need something to be enthused about….the comments from MM have hardly helped the cause and have probably dampened the prospects of a promotion campaign for many.

I’ve already bought mine but there will be a fair few who are still undecided.

A few positive comments from our CEO wouldn’t have gone amiss whilst we are trying to sell season tickets don’t you think?

Bradford have sold 13000 and they're still shit.

Our average attendance for last season was almost 7k including 4.5k ST holders and tbh, for what was on offer, that is phenomenal.

We’ve been starved of any sort of success for so long that with a proper season and promotion at the end of it I have no doubt that figure would be up around 9k or even more!

To be fair Bradford have over twice the population of Oldham and at £349 after their early bird offer they are actually £46 cheaper than ours for the division above.

I'll predict now Alfie Atherton will start next season after impressing in pre season friendlies - unless he's sold on.

If he’s ready mentally then I agree….I’ve only seen him once but he looks far better than Walker and much stronger than Green!

If he can handle the step up to the men’s game he could well be a very good player for us!

  9. Has there been any info as to the ST sales sold so far?….I certainly haven’t seen anything.

Last year there were progress reports on an almost weekly basis on Twitter (X).

Unfortunately with the standard of football on offer over the last couple of seasons I can’t imagine we’ll hit the figure we attained last year which I believe was over 4500.

With MM’s infamous doom & gloom comments after the final game I honestly thought Darren Royle would have issued some sort of rallying call to reassure supporters and to outline our objectives for next seasons campaign.

Has anybody any idea of sales so far?

It seems unless the club listen to you, it will never be good enough!

You have to admit, the 1st team coach should show an interest in the youth players coming through and there’s really no substitute for seeing them in the flesh so to speak.

I’ve heard loads of reports from BP1960 throughout the season but Saturday was the 1st time I’d seen them for myself and I have to admit to being impressed by 3 or 4 of them.

The No2, No4, No6, and No9, could have played some part in the last game or been on the bench. They are far more skilful confident & mobile than some of our regulars.

It’s a big step up admittedly, but it would surely have been a worthwhile exercise and a reward for having a good season.

3-0 to Latics, some great passing football played.

Yes they play a lot differently to the 1st team. No team sheet so hadn’t a clue who was who but for me, 3,4,6,& 9 were the standouts. I believe the No.4 is currently being chased by Accrington.

    Was Atherton No.7 BP?
