You can hear from Royle every month if you are happy to pay for the privilege.

I’m aware of that but as over 99% of fans aren’t members of the foundation I would suggest a general statement or video through the club media would be more appropriate.

I'm actually optimistic about next season, with about 8 players  (including loanees) brought in who are young and determined there's no reason they can't do much better than the half hearted failures who will leave.

This providing the manager let's them off the leash to attack rather than defend.

Providing he brings in the right quality mind!

What I would say is that it might well have been a good idea to have played the same eleven in more than 2 consecutive games.

Surely a little continuity could have brought about an improvement in our general play?

The continual swapping and changing of players and their positions on an almost game by game basis was bloody ridiculous!

  3. After Mellon’s comments post game on Saturday, bearing in mind what he said, surely there has to be a statement of some sort from the board.

We haven’t heard a whisper from DR at all and it’s about time he put fans in the picture and outlined the club’s direction/plan going forward!

A positive spin regarding next season has to be forthcoming as Mellon’s comments will no doubt have had an extremely negative effect on future season ticket sales and renewals.

Supporters around me on Saturday were generally about 50/50 on the possibility of renewing. If that’s the general feeling then a drop of even 25% would be pretty catastrophic and hinder our chances massively!

Dallas got better with each game and joined us at a bad time really when the rest were jacking it in.

We need to do exactly the same thing really and in key positions so it will be interesting to see how this seasons transfer business goes, we should of been going in for the likes of Colclough as I think wingers at this level can win you games but we had this obsession with harvesting strikers. We played Fondop and Reid throughout pre season and it looked quite promising but we've seen little of it as we've also used Nuttall, Willoughby, Norwood, Dallas, Garner, Stones which is frightening really given we signed six of them permanently for God knows how much money.

    Probably half our budget!!

Yep, our fans also need to look at themselves. The feel around the club is all wrong.

Yes indeed they do, but, like all football clubs, there is and always will be, a knob element within the fanbase.
For whatever reason, the unexpected absolute shit show on the field since the Rothwell’s takeover has unfortunately fuelled the ill feeling on the terraces.

The fact that the takeover promised so much, yet where it matters most, on the field, has delivered so little has been very hard to take for some.

My interpretation is that I wanted the manager to confirm what my assumptions have been on why we struggle to perform consistently. I thought MM did that to an extent and his message, to the board was that colossal damage has already been done in recruitment, before he ever got there.

I would hope the message to the board will have been delivered months ago. If he’s waited until Saturday to tell them I don’t think he’ll be here too much longer!

We all know the score regarding the inadequacies of this bloated squad, we didn’t need him to spell it out in quite so much detail.

I just don’t think he should have been quite so damning and overly negative towards his task going forward.

The club are trying to sell season tickets and this will definitely have a detrimental effect on sales……do you not agree?

What could he have said under the circumstances?

MM inherited a massively imbalanced squad, much worse than he understood when he took on the roll. It needs a lot of work doing to it. He’s going to have to be cute in the market and wheel and deal to get a team that resembles one that fans want to see.

We know all this, I already said he’s being honest.

I should imagine a fair chunk of ST holders are still mulling over renewing.

That interview will have a massive bearing on the outcome.

He could have been a little more positive in outlining his plans for next season given the timing.

He’s as good as written it off FFS!!……I really can’t imagine the board being too happy either!

  8. That interview, whilst being honest, was just about as depressing as it could possibly get!

To say all those things, true or not, during a Season Ticket sale was beyond belief. There wasn’t a single shred of positivity in anything he said….If I was a board member I’d be absolutely furious!

We all know the situation he inherited and the problems he’s faced but all the ready made excuses are coming to the fore.

I hope he turns it around and I will hold my hands up if does, but I have seen nothing at all so far to suggest that he will.

If he fails I think he will blame it on everything but himself!

Probably not BP but if you wanted a change of manager, an absolute proven leader with the heart of a lion, you'd be as well gambling on someone like Peter Clarke. Chris Lucketti said of him "I know all about him, he's a real man, he's a leader"

Wouldn't be a player/manager at his age I know but what a leader.

Motivation would not be a problem and even with no managerial experience I’m sure he would get more out of this squad!

Seriously wondering if one of the options is to sell or swap the likes of Hobson, Norwood,  Conlon (among the top earners), on top of trying to shift  so some of the contracted acted also-rans.

By the sounds of it, the 18 under contract already take up the vast majority of next season's budget so some drastic/creative effort is required to dig us out of this self- inflicted mess.

I was Told today that Norwood & Conlon won’t be here next season.

Thought the interview was shocking. He said some truths tbf but jesus christ hes not giving us much to shout about for the 24/25 season

    He’s only being honest!😂

If I was on the board I’d be bloody fuming. The season ticket early bird deadline ends next week and that mind numbingly depressing interview will not help sell them.

He’s almost wrote next season off already…unbelievable!!😳
