  1. I think it's fairly obvious that people are in different circumstances, financially, professionally etc regardless of age so there's no point saying "well my Barry is 23 and..." or whatever. The club should do what it can to give all fans the best deal possible and we should want to ensure that the club is also getting the best deal it can, it's never gonna be perfect but it's good to talk and float ideas. Anyway, my Barry....
  2. Yeah, I know what you mean, as soon as I turned 16 I stopped using the bus cos the fare went up. Such injustices in the world!
  3. The cheaper the better! I think more should be done to encourage younger adults and students etc for sure, you'd only apply to one category so It should be simple enough!
  4. I watched the Everton game on TV here in Ireland and I have to say that I was so proud of everyone at BP. The graft and guile of all the players, who looked fitter over 90 mins than their PL opponents, the management team who made the right decisions at the right times and most of all the fans, who never stopped believing and backing the team. It was awesome, you were awesome and it looked mint on telly!
  5. I'm glad the responsibility for this decision isnt mine. Tough, tough call. I hope you make the right choice SC, but I don't envy you!
  6. We're in the :censored: at the moment and if we appointed either one would they get the sack if we went down? No, surely that would be stupid. Employ someone who, over the coming years, can bring in better players, lift the profile of the club and has passion in their heart for the club. I think I may have just talked myself into Scholes. For now. Or Dowie.
  7. Let's look at at this way...we've had the worst manager we will ever have in Penney! So let's just get behind the new guy, whoever he is and the players, be positive and everything will be uphill from here! Brilliant!
  8. Spot on Alec, you have got to show faith in the man you appoint and we HAVE to get it right this time. If we go down then we go down because of the results all season, its not the new mans fault we're the drop zone now. The club HAS to appoint someone they believe is right long term regardless of the outcome this season, Lord knows we need stability more than anything. A short term contract says "I don't want to pay you off when you fail". Not a great start.
  9. Cancer? What the :censored: are you on, what has that got to do with anything? I can say what I like, I don't gave two :censored:s what you I anyone else thinks, I have my opinion and my opinion is that there are arseholes on here who love to slate everyone and everything, any chance they can. You only back that up by jumping down my throat and telling me to :censored: off. Brilliant! You are the true champion of free speech indeed! Just cos we support the same club doesn't make us all friends and we don't have to like each other but I never once targeted an individual in my post, I have however been target by the likes of you. The irony. You :censored:.
  10. I don't think any of us have come out of this with any credibility really. You're all welcome over to Dublin anytime to get well and truly ARSEHOLED! As in drunk before you get the wrong idea Luckers ; )
  11. About time someone contributed some real sense. Fair play Stevie.
  12. Yes! But why on earth would any of you want to take it personally as if I was insulting you?! I don't get that to be honest, I wasn't after picking a fight with anyone in particular my brothers
  13. I said that maybe you're an arsehole. I don't know you, you might be alright. Probably not though. You're contribution to my post was "I'm glad you live in Dublin". Brilliant. No, nothing else, thank you x
  14. As is any arsehole worth his salt my friend. There's quite a lot of anger out there isn't there? I'll pray for you all.
  15. That you might be an arsehole I suppose. Look, I wasn't trying to point the finger at anyone in particular, just making a point after reading a load of :censored:e from posters but people instantly started to make it personal and take it personally. You're glad I live in Dublin and so am I, it's :censored:ing great.
  16. Obviously I don't go to every game anymore but when I do I get behind which ever Latics team is put out from the 1st to the 95th minute, always have, always will. Legend.
  17. I'm not calling everyone an arsehole, cos not everyone is an arsehole. Some people are though and they're the ones I have a problem with. Arseholes.
  18. Look, you don't have to come on and actually admit you are an arsehole lads, but at least it shows some self awareness, which is a start. Maybe Lukers1 you could start to look into yourself a bit more, explore the arsehole in you. So to speak.
  19. Exactly the type of responses one would have expected, what what?
  20. Corney has kept the club afloat for 10 years and all he gets is snide comments and digs from arseholes on here. Reading the posts on here is depressing. What Corney said in his statement after the Livepool game was spot on and the fans are in no position to argue. Yeah he's made mistakes, Dave Penney being an absolute disaster, but I'm sure he did what he thought was right at the time. If more Oldhamers turned out at the games and backed the team rather than :censored:ing moaning for 90 minutes then maybe we'd see more performances like the ones against Forest and Liverpool, maybe there would be more of a transfer budget, maybe players would want to play for us and maybe that stand would get built. PD did his best and I'm sure he'll make a decent manager with a bit of cash at his disposal but its only the fans can generate some income for OAFC. So what are you gonna do about it?
  21. One thing's for sure...you'll never drown 3000 SU fans singing in the RRE from the Chaddy. Roll on the new North Stand!!!
  22. Thank God someone has taken on the marketing of The Latics. It's been an embarrassment for years, the amount of commercial opportunities missed, the poor self image the club itself projected really let it down. In my opinion it has contributed to the very real downer we've all been on over the last couple of years. Amongst other more obvious things. I live away now but whenever I've visited BP I've been shocked to see the lack of commercial nouce. The posters in the loos have been empty or containing the same out of date rubbish for months if not years. All those people passing through and no attempt to engage them. The piss poor PA system. The crap online shop (not anymore!). An honest assessment is that OAFC just wasn't in anyway cool and it was obvious. The re-branding work that I'm seeing you do is giving me a real boost, along with the stadium developments and PD in charge I'm really buzzing at the moment, I have faith in the future. Image isn't everything in this life but I know that when I look good I feel good and it's the same with the club. We all have to believe in it and it has to believe in itself and project that confidence to the public, other clubs and potential staff/players. Very recently, I believe, a shift has occured in the mindset of the fans and staff of Oldham Athletic. We're a club moving forward. I say no to negativity, it's been holding us back too long. Let's pull together and drag this club back into the Championship where we belong. Back on some crazy cup runs. Back to packed stands and loud terrace chants. I moved from Oldham because I had more to gain elsewhere, simple as that, but I love this club and I'll be back again and again to see it grow and enjoy the good times. I have The Faith. Right, I'm off to punch the air in slow motion and watch video montages of the good old days until stop crying with pride.
  23. Look, I'll just happy to see something positive happen. If we get a new main stand built then that is great. We are a cash strapped club. We have very limited options. Lets, hopefully, celebrate some positive news and potential for progress!
