  1. For some reason it won't let me log in from Facebook . Requested new password from email but it uses my old id.
  2. Oh sorry pal, I won't bleat on anymore about it then I guess I'm just thinking this case has a good chance of being overturned but suppose time will tell.
  3. You seem to be forgetting we need to get past Mansfield 1st ;)
  4. As much as it's a great draw for the club, in reality I am a little pished because of the amount of abuse I gave my Liverpool supporting friends last year and wanted to retain bragging rights for years to come haha. That being said if we were to beat them again :-) First things first we need to win the replay. Just hope the team don't go thinking to far ahead and concentrate on Chesterfield first, personally would rather have a wembley trip than Anfield one (been there done that), both would be nice mind :-)
  5. Sorry posted by accident with wrong username, I'll log in through fb now and do it.
  6. haha you got me although having seen the last 16 years in this league I think it's been hammered into me to be cautious when Latics are concerned and not get my hopes up :/
  7. Should move this into the 'typical latics' thread due to: Usual attitude of some fans thinking it would be bad for the club! A new wealthy owner wanting to pump money into the club and move the club forward instead of steady decline that we've become accustomed to, yeah we wouldn't want that now would we! Would love to see this happen and bring some excitement around the place although can't help but feel it'll end up in the 'typical latics' thread by missing out on this due to TTA over valuing the club.
  8. That was my biggest worry yesterday too but LJ seems like he's going to take no crap from anybody regardless of who they are, and I think he hit the nail on the head with some footballers who like being called a footballer without wanting to be one, think that's about to change. I'm quite looking forward to tomorrows game now.
  9. Sounds like he can 'talk the talk' which in truth is quite impressive especially his in depth analysis which is where other lazy managers fail however, talking the talk is one thing, 'walking the walk' is another so i'll reserve judgement for now. Although to be honest I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about LJ than I was this time yesterday so I'll give him the chance he's obviously earned himself in his interviews, and will be getting down BP tomorrow and hoping to see a different latics in terms of commitment and desire. Hopefully everyone will get behind him and give him the chance, or they could do a Blackburn and Chelsea and give him grief before a ball is kicked (look where that's getting them!). Over to you LJ, good luck and I hope you succeed.
  10. For the 10-12 who get the chance to meet the manager, remember it's not his fault he was appointed so don't direct your anger towards him, give him the respect he deserves because a ball hasn't been kicked under his management here yet. If it is Lee Johnson as stated then please ask the following questions: 1. Is this the 1st managerial position you have applied for? 2. What objectives have you been given by the club? 3. Are you going to act as player/manager or just manager? 4. Have you been given any funds to strengthen the squad before the end of the season? 5. Have you been given a clear vision of the clubs next 5 year plan? 6. If the club gets relegated have you been given assurances that you'll be here next season? And the biggest question of all: 7. How with no previous managerial experience do you think you can win over the dressing room and gain the players respect? Like I said please give the guy the respect he deserves, to me the best managers are the ones that have the best man to man management skills to which he may have and it might work, everyone starts somewhere in their careers so let's get behind the team to stay up.
  11. No smoke without fire and seems like it's nailed on which confirms 1 thing: Corney has gone for the cheapest deal until the end of the season to reduce his costs, at the end of the year he'll sell off all our best assets and get as much money back from the club as possible before disappearing into the sunset, he's a businessman at the end of the day and if you think he cares about OAFC then you live in cuckoo land, yes he's funded us and saved us in the past, which I thank him for but at the end of the day the bigger picture for doing this was to try and make a success of the club for his own financial rewards. The cup run has benefited two sets of people long term, Corney and the players who starred in front of the tv cameras who will get a better club next season. The fans got the special moments in them games only but won't benefit long term because the money won't be used to improve the club, it's a golden handshake for Corney to walk with. I personally wanted Dowie like most others but it's obvious because of his higher wage demands he wasn't getting the job. The only thing I don't understand with corney is if he's wanting to sell off the club then surely a team in league 1 for 2013-2014 season is worth more than 1 in league 2, and surely an experienced manager would have more chance in this, so Corney would be making a short term investment for the longer term benefit of selling the club for next season with getting a Dowie type manager in. Anyhow, if it is Johnson then yes it's not ideal but can't understand people saying they will walk away from the club, if you are a true fan you'd never walk away until the gates were closed and the club went extinct and even then you'd be trying to support a way of funding a new club by OAFC. I for one will be going on Tuesday and getting behind the new manager and team because now more than ever is when the fans need to be behind the team. Yes barring the cup run the performances have been a shower of sh*t and we all feel done over by Corney but let's not all walk away without a fight because we still have a great chance of staying up.
