  1. Don't worry all you Brown haters, he's applied for the Partick Thistle job. Not something he'd do if he was getting the Latics hot seat.
  2. Having read some comments on here, who do people actually expect to manage us? It seems like unless we get Jose Mourinho people won't be happy. At the end of the day we're a low league 1 club with not much of a budget to spend on players. Personally I'd be happy with someone like Brown who's had premiership experience and certainly won't take no sh*t from the players and will kick a few ars*s (something which the players need).
  3. Haha she maybe could be described as a glory hunter Monty, however I guess this is where it all starts with some fans. From hating football to ok I'll watch a game, to now I want a shirt and want to go to more games. Women!
  4. My missus 2nd latics game, 1st was a 1-0 defeat to Carlisle and her response 'I'm never watching football again cos it's boring'. I however persuaded her to go due to Gerrard playing. 1st goal she clapped, 2nd she did a little jump, 3rd she jumped and clapped, final whistle jumping up and down screaming. She's now asking when we can get tickets for 5th round and wants a shirt. Funny old game
  5. Awesome, just banged it on my facebook, cue the bites
  6. Sorry Steve I had seen Latics_fanatic post as it was the last post on the main page so instantly looked at his and gratefully he's agreed to get mine, cheers for the offer though.
  7. Anyone fancy getting me 2 tickets and being paid £20 for your troubles?
  8. Can you not post to the ticket office with the above mentioned in the envelope?
  9. I already phoned and they said they couldn't send them via post because that's not a viable option at the moment, presumably because all their carrier pigeons are busy at the moment, or maybe because they'd like to give all the scousers a chance to get across and get a few for themselves, sorry for the sarcasm but you'd of thought everyone who wanted one by now, who could get one from the ticket office cues would of done by now, and it's just the ones like myself who can't get down due to work commitments etc who want one over the phone.
  10. Sounds like a real idea, paypal nice and secure and you could weed out the scousers and make yourself a profit.
  11. Ha no worries mate. Just logged out and signed in through 'carlos'.
  12. So here's the deal: I'm away this weekend and am unable to get to the Brentford game and won't be able to get the time from work to cue in the general sale so here's my plea: If anybody could get me a ticket then I'm willing to pay for there's too. Obviously would take a bit of trust but I'm willing to transfer the money online into someones bank account so they have it before getting the tickets. Anybody willing to help out?
  13. Longtime blue, what are you suggesting? I am wanting a ticket but am away this weekend and can't get the voucher from the Brentford game and won't be able to take time from work to come and join the general sale cue. However I'm willing to pay for someone to go to the game if they can get me a ticket.
  14. Haha love it! Yes it's a big ask but it's certainly not out of the question, we have games in hand, factor in that and we beat Stevenage means we're not too far away. Remember Blackpool being no where in the league, all of a sudden they beat us then go on a winning run, gain confidence and momentum and hey ho their in the play-offs and walk it! Yes long shot but achievable, our side is a good footballing side, some other clubs say one of the best in league but we can't find back of net, we certainly can't fail to score week in week out with over 20 shots a game, our luck will turn. You heard it here first, now I'm off to take my tablets Stevie suggested KTF
  15. Yes I'm gutted like everyone else but I think we have a great footballing side here but just lacking that killer edge in front of goal and abit of luck. We were by far the better team than Chesterfield over 2 legs but you just felt it weren't going to be our night when Kuqi hit the post early doors. If we string a few results together then the play-offs won't be too far out of our reach and maybe just maybe Wembley! KTF fellow latics
  16. Well said mate, I've always said the first time I'll go to the new wembley is when Oldham get there no matter how long it takes, yes I'd love that to be in the play-offs for a crack at promotion but realistically our best chance will come in the JPT this season so to me this is our biggest game of the season in terms of a cash windfall which will help next season's rebuilding. If someone would offer me a win between the Exeter or Chesterfield game then I'd happily take the Chesterfield game because we are in last chance saloon in the JPT whereas we've plenty of other games to stay up (forget about the play-offs, staying up and winning the JPT will be season well done I say).
  17. My mate turned round after Kuqi missed the pen and said exactly the same thing. ANd yes I know Chesterfield are no world beaters but we ain't exactly been world beaters either, I think our good cup runs have just papered over the cracks at times, here's hoping I'm wrong!!
  18. Yes you are right and let's hope we get that bit of luck that we didn't get at the vital times last night. And yeah I doubt we'll ever get a better chance of getting to wembley, I'd be alot more worried if we were playing the likes of Sheff Utd with a deficit. KTF
  19. Can see both sides of the story here but looking at the big picture: If Chesterfield bring a crap following and don't get behind their team and in some way causes their players not to perform as good, meaning we win and go through to Wembley then the money we make from the trip to wembley will far outweigh the couple hundred extra seats Chesterfield might take up if they didn't do their offer.
  20. In a nutshell, couldn't agree anymore.
  21. I didn't say his best position was on the left mate, all I meant was I wish he'd get more balls into the box with better delivery. His main problem is his gob, yes it's nice to show abit of passion and will to win but there's better ways of channeling that aggression, instead of concentrating on his game he's too intent on gobbing at everyone!
  22. I think we missed opportunity to put this tie to bed last night but it's still all to play for. On another night an optimist would say we could of won 3 or 4-1 whereas the pessimists would say they had 2 guilt edge chances first half. At 1-1 we looked like the only team to go on and win it but they broke away and won a pen, 1-1 would of looked a great result on reflection although being 2-1 could have it's advantage: I mean if it was 1-1 then our approach might of been a nervy one at BP with trying to get the winner without committing too much whereas now we have to come out and get a goal so our approach will be more of a positive one whereas there's will be sit back and try hit us on the break. That's where my worries lie though, we seem vunerable against the break and they looked dangerous, so as much as we need to attack I just hope we don't over commit to get the first goal, chances will come if we're patient and don't get on the teams back if we don't score early doors. Even though we'll get chances we could do with some more firepower up top where we seem to lack lately, someone with a bit of pace who can get behind their back line with diagonal runs. Still can't work out why we kept lumping it over the top to Kuqi who let's face is isn't lighting (yes that's where the penalty came from but it was more a case of bad defending), we looked a far better team in the second half when we got the ball down and went at them with quick slick passing. Morais for me should start cos he offers that bit of trickery (although frustrating at times) and his delivery is far better than anything else we got. Simpson is our match winner and he scared them every time he got on the ball and ran at them, if PD plays him abit more of the front 2 then we'll see more goals. The first goal at BP is a massive one obviously and I just hope all the fans get down and get behind the lads with 'patience', we don't need to score early doors aslong as we don't succeed, their seems to be alot of doom and gloom around the place thinking we ain't going to pull it off (which we still might not do) but if someone had said to me at start of season with all the top teams left in the competition, "You will be playing at BP with a goal down against a side bottom of the league for a chance to reach wembley" then I'm sure we'd all of snapped their hands off. KTF
  23. In all my years of playing and watching football I've never seen a ref after being given abuse by a player turn around and say 'You know what mate, your right and I'll change my decision"! Taylor was embarrassing alot of times last night, even after he got booked he was still ranting at the ref, then the linesman then their players, and to top it off he kept having a pop at our players, mainly Morais! We'd won a penalty and that was the main thing, yes he could of been sent off but having seen the highlights there was a covering defender, so the ref got it right IMO. All Taylor did was delay the penalty being taken and anyone who takes a penalty will tell you that you just want to get on with taking it rather than wait a few minutes! He obviously thinks he's a bigger fish in a small pond and where that happens you tend to find they go off their game at times and become a disruption to the team by constant moaning at team mates. I say cash in on him, 6 figures would be a bargain in my eyes because yes he looks the part with his pace etc but last night his distribution was poor, he gets to the byline then can't put any height on his crosses which generally get cut out at the near post. And please will he stop shooting on his left foot after cutting inside!!!
  24. Thanks mate that's spot on, best start the car :-)
