  1. Just reading his book Football It's A Minging Life! A Recommended read. Loved watching him play entertainment at its best. He turned some well known RB's inside out then delivered killer balls into dangerous areas, mainly from the byline.

(If you're the steveoafc I think you might be, no you can't borrow it,. till I get my Neil Redfearn book back. If not apologies) :goggle:

  2. I don't have LP, so can someone elaborate on what he's on about?

On the face of it it makes no sense at all

    1) The only new signings have been untested kids

    2) Every other confirmed player was with us last year

    3) We have lost a lot of decent players

    4) We need a lot more than two big signings to complete even a respectable squad

Although it is quoted below the video on LP. At no point in the LP interview does PD say anything like the attributed quote.

He does say in answer to Gordy's question "Is that the end of the signings"(Grounds) No, no we are light on numbers, we've got 1 more coming in today or before training tomorrow and a few more in the pipeline.

He goes on to say. We want to hit the ground running next season. He's very pleased with the fitness that the boys have returned to training with.

That he's pleased we've managed to keep quality in the squad and add to it and that we've got a few more coming in. Just because we've got a smaller budget doesn't mean we can't do well next year. We are looking at some very good players at the minute that will compliment the ones we've got. goes on to talk about the strong spine of the team .....

    That's pretty much it.

  3. Finding out who has reported for training has been a perennial problem, even more so now they’re near the allotments. If only someone could prick-out the young seedlings that are to be transplanted into their final positions, and determine those that will grow poorly after transplanting. It needs a hardy expert to spot which will be so slow-growing that, before they reach maturity, the smaller crop will have been harvested.

  4. British and Australian writers apparently make no distinction between spelled and spelt, using both as past participles and past-tense forms of spell. Here are just a few examples:

Will they skip through thousands of mundane and badly spelled missives from authors? [

He has also calmly spelt out his own desire to end his life when he chooses, not when the disease does. [

Their temperamental differences are spelt out in other ways. [

  5. ...................if he stays fit and they (Saunders & his backroom staff) can finally sort his head out. Pace, skill and a finish when he's in the mood & on song - but he makes Craig Davis look like a Countdown grand-master and therein has been the problem all his career to-date.

Blake will be a class apart in Leaue 1 though; i'll give you that

Although a professional footballer, Cotterill is also famous for the fact that early on his career he used to wear his left boot on his right foot and his right boot on his left foot. (from wiki)
