  1. He made the best debut[on loan for the last 6 games last season] most of us could ever remember seeing at Tranmere-ran the game and scored a fantastic equaliser at the end. He was a class above any other player on the pitch. Then he realised that the rest of the team were crap and tried to do everything by himself[not passing when others in good areas etc] The opposition then put extra players on him in the remaining games and the other players were not good enough to exploit the extra space this created for them . Hence we are where we are. If you can get him to play more as a team player and not just for himself then he'll be a great signing. Joe Royle and David Unsworth were in the stand at the home games watching his performances but there are many comments on the Everton sites about alleged ''personal problems''. Good luck to George and you-I hope it works out well for you and him.
  2. Some very bitter comments on this thread. I thought that by now you'd have got over it and moved on. I have not as yet seen any replay which conclusively proves either way that the ref was right or wrong-he was certainly right with your claim towards the end of the first half.
  3. What is a ''proper sports journalist?'' There are plenty who claim to be and regularly produce appallingly inaccurate and made up stories particularly in the red tops like the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail. The laughable part is that in the latter particularly ,they regularly refer to themselves as ''experts.''
  4. He is definitely a defensive midfielder. Tranmere desperately need one although Moore doesn't seem to think so judging by his public comments.
  5. And your evidence re his alleged further comments is........?
  6. Well somebody speaks with forked tongue. And as the ref was not asked for his side of the story......................
  7. There's no way you can definitively tell from that video. It's noticeable that they didn't refer to it as controversial or discuss it when they mentioned Tranmere afterwards.
  8. Your new announcer did well-good clear pronunciation.
  9. You have a good user name. As to your confident prediction, time will tell.
  10. Agreed and Oldham are much better than last season. But last week,Tranmere lost by five and it could have been many more. So basically a result was the be all and end all and should do wonders for confidence.
  11. Hang on a minute.''Genius'' is a bit strong.
  12. You can't be out of sight if you don't get shots and headers on goal. And, particularly when you played really well in the first half hour, the keeper was not troubled.
  13. I dislike Ronnie almost as much as you but it was a definite penalty.
  14. Fon Williams was hardly troubled throughout. All that nice football[particularly the first half hour] means nothing if you can't shoot straight.
  15. It was a definite penalty. No doubt.
  16. It was obviously hand ball but as for your comment about a sending off,I suggest you learn the rules of the game.
  17. The pitch was absolutely horrendous and made it very difficult for any kind of decent football to be played on it. There wasn't much between the sides and in my opinion there were only 2 pieces of quality in the whole match-the goal, which didn't deserve to be a part of a match like that and Baxter's free kick. Oldham should definitely have had a penalty for the handball in the first half-not sure about the one in the second half. Each time your manager was smiling[possibly ruefully] as he spoke to someone behind the dug out-very restrained reaction in the circumstances. I was impressed with him at the end in the manner that he shook hands with all the Tranmere players as they left the pitch-not seen that before from an opposing boss.I thought Croft,Mvoto and Baxter were your best players but was puzzled by the incident where Goodison got booked in the first few minutes where the ref gave Croft a very long lecture but no booking yet said not a word to Goodison but gave him a yellow.
  18. Thanks. The Swindon fans have been excelling themselves in that department leading up to yesterdays' postponed game-today the lovely weather in the second half was a help to you[it always seems to be like that when we play at Boundary Park] as was that disaster of a goalkeeper Brad Jones. I can't understand why he is preferred to Peter Gulacsi, who was sub keeper. We had him on loan two or three seasons ago and he was very good for us. But your lads were magnificent and gave everything for the cause-hope they do the same in the league[except when you come to Prenton].
  19. Well done from a Tranmere fan-I particularly enjoyed all the blocks your players got in and Jose's face when Everton came out.Now get yourself some league points to move up that table.
  20. I went to that game against Braunschweig who were top of the league-brilliant atmosphere from start to finish-it may have been Division 2 but there were 38000 there-2 all draw, also a German missing a penalty. The singing and flags and scarf waving and twirling was absolutely excellent.I've never been to a Bundesliga game before-certainly intend to do so again. The transport organisation from Cologne centre to the ground and back was also first class-the Germans put us totally to shame in that aspect-also if anybody thinks Manchester Xmas markets are good then they have no idea-they really are crap compared to the ones in Cologne and other German cities.
  21. He's right if the other games are like when they won at Tranmere.Tranmere battered them particularly in the second half,Doncaster got out of their half twice in that period and scored both times.Their only shot on target in the first half hit the woodwork.
  22. . John McEnroe comes to mind -absolutely hilarious comment.
