So should we still expect a New Signing today? Or was the announcement that of Stam himself? There seems to have been little mention of him around the Official Site, all the talk was of Wellens and Porter which may suggest there was no extra interest in Stam and perhaps we were just waiting for him to return from holiday.

Who do you think will be out starting Right Back Against Swansea. Both players are young with a lot of potential, and the ability to get forward. I thought that Eardley towards the end of the season struggled to cope with the pressure, and lost his composure in some games, I believe this was partly at fault for our slump towards the end of the season, we lost the controlled distribution from the back. If Sheridan can get Eardley back to the state of mind where he plays better football, then I believe he is our best option at Right Back. However, Lomax has the additional attribute of Pace, he has a lot of it, and can be a great asset charging down the Right Wing and being able to get back quickly. He is capabl of playing football, and I believe would also fit in the side well, especially offering a little extra pace if Liddell is on the Right. Of course Sheridan may bring in someone new, although I believe it's unlikely. I do believe that Eardley should start against Swansea, but if he is not performing, and is holding the side back a little, I don't think we lose anything extra by putting Lomax into the side. Your thoughts?

Whilst we're on the topic of Liddell, I do believe that yes we would miss his assists, but, if we were to change the was we play, the balance of creativity would shift also. I would expect to see Taylor getting more assists, and more coming from the Central Midfielders (whoever they may be) with the extra pace of Davies up front. I find Liddell to be similar to Beckham, in a game he will put 19 awful crosses in, and then get one right and suddenly he's a superstar again. I believe Liddell wastes the ball too often on the Right Hand Side. I am now actually beginning to think that Allott wouldn't be such a bad signing, he seems to be a bit of an unsung hero, but I'm unsure whether him along side Kalala will provide enough creativity and support for the front men. Although I absoloutely agree with BigfinLatic that we are changing the way we play. I thought last season, the passing game slowly faded out, and I think this was due to Sheridan realising that perhaps we didn't quite have the quality to use it sucessfully all season. Warne and Porter scored goals, but were not the most gifted footballers. I believe that although Hughes and Davies may be the same, he is trying to bring in the quality from Midfield, quite rightly.

I voted Kilkenny for who I 'wanted' it to be, but I have a horrible feeling it will be Mark Allott, however it does say one signing which would rule out the Paul Shaw possibility, which may suggest otherwise. Or it could indeed be somebody re-signing.

Patrik Berger maybe? Should be someone good hopefully. I seemed to remember we signed Wellens at about half past eight. Lightning Strikes twice?

If the players in talks that means the clubs have agreed, we wont know anything until it's on the Official Site.
