Are we sure it's Diamond? Only in March was he supposed to be joining Hearts before the alleged failed medical (though over 200 appearances suggest his fitness can't be that bad). I would have thought slightly out of our wage bracket and even level. But would be delighted if he is on trial/signs!

Good post. Perhaps not completely feasible, but nice to hear positivity. Being a Middleton lad myself originally, I know full well this is an odd town, no other like it. Such talent and ability derives from the very place, but it no longer has identity and I know no Middletonian would admit to being a part of Rochdale. Perhaps Middleton, home of Oldham Athletic AFC with a little bit of history could be a good thing for the town and club. Certainly worth thinking about? I definitely think we could attract a few more fans in our direction, without alienating current fans too much (MK Dons style).

Frankly the residents of Oldham particularly those in the vicinity of BP I don't hold in the highest regards. They also have perfectly good driveways.

Chesterfield fans pretty convinced Donaldson is to be unveiled by them on Friday. Bigger clubs in for McDonald so unlikely I'd say. Pretty disheartening when reading through other clubs messageboards we seem to get a bit of a slating! Ridiculing the fact we're even in for the same players as them, Chesterfield especially (despite being comprised of almost entirely ex-Latic's). Would be rather sweet should we manage to nick one from under their noses, happened to ourselves enough in the past! NB apologies if any of you read all that hoping for a name drop, I have nothing

I don't think our budget can extend to two strikers, not with Reid signed on. Even if he is on pennies. Maybe we'll see more of Taylor in CM and Reid out wide? Too early to say, players to arrive soon though I'm sure.

The general consensus seems to be we've sold short, I'd probably agree. However I'm interested, say.. Norwich have given us a deadline to stump up for McDonald (hypothetical, purely) - Would you then say the club would be making a good decision to take the offer on the table? It's the only reason I can think of that we'd be happy with other than the club just taking whatever it can get.
