I remember our (believe it to be) first home game on Sky. Norwich on a Tuesday night (lost 2-3?). Massive inflatable sumo wrestlers on the pitch at half time. Even as a kid it made no sense.

Fuck all to do with attendances, like. Just getting involved with the nostalgia lot. ;-).

Was that the one where Oldham born mark robins scored? (for norwich)

I was at York City in the 1970s in what I think was their record l attendance of around 14,000.

At one stage I thought we were going to miss the kick off and a mate shouted to the gateman "Open the gates man - we'll throw the money at you as we go past".

Yes I recall it was last away game of 73-74 season? and was one all draw.

Ian wood was injured and carried off.

I saw most of game clinging on from the floodlight pylon in latics end as I was only eleven.

You can find it on YouTube as Yorkshire tv televised the game as we were both promoted that season.

West Brom at home in 76 last home game of the season

West Brom won 1-0 and were promoted to division one

crowd was probably around 25,000 with around 15,000 baggies

Yes Ste I remember sitting in the Ford Stand for that game and the rre was a sea of green and yellow

Was on match of the day that evening.

    Motty was the commentator.

Baggies goal scored by Tony Brown who was born in Oldham.

I stayed to see jonnie giles bring out the baggies to celebrate in front of main stand.

Yep agree with all that. If we strengthen that midfield this week though it could be more.

If we maintain unbeaten run with what is effectively a new team , a new coaching and support team, and are able to strengthen then we should be in a position to challenge this league.

With fitness gain of some of our better players to factor in this bodes well.

I am encouraged by passion of fans and coaching team this season so far.

It was against a Manure Xi... I'm sure that Liverpool players including Grobbelaar and Craig Johnston played for the United XI!!! Can't see that having happened often. Worthington apparently always wanted to play for United and was said to gutted to play for Latics that day... I was there anyway, even if my memory is playing tricks now.

I too was there and always believed that beardsley played for man u in the match.

i know he only ever played one competitive game for them around same time.

Do remember Frank w scoring in the game.

  7. Very Confident finish.

Tried same move v MK Dons but lost the ball after the nutmeg.

Today Got knocked over but got up every time.

Did he get his arm injury from landing on the sprinkler ?

Got patched up and carried on.very good to see.

This experience will give him the confidence to continue doing this

Potential to be double figures by Christmas?

  8. Signs of the coaching taking effect with balls into feet and trying one two's, into space.if we can cut out the Hollywood cross field passes and keep it simple the are signs that we will score goals at this level.

Looked better with Clarke at the heart of the defence .

Taylor good experience but got caught couple of times on his heels and can't turn back as quick so need a a speedy centre back along side him.

Maybe with match fitness this will help.

    Still looking forward the Baxter.

Then we will see how good we potentially could be.
