Gardeners problem is his ability to keep fit,Nuttall problem is he will never be a prolific goal scorer,he will never provide multiple assists,and we have multiple penalty takers in the squad now,surplus to requirements!!!

He had multiple chances at curzon ,useless

He had excellent service at curzon missed 5 yes 5 potential chances in 45 minutes.Some of them were ridiculously easy,this lad has to step up to the plate before the season begins or we are in trouble

I think we need a Nuttall :censored:/Nuttall great thread.Perhaps we can actually talk about the match in the match thead

4 attempts for Nuttall,three of which should’ve scored with ease,what the bloody hell is wrong with him.No promotion with him anywhere near the team

So does anecdotal evidence not count,Joe Nuttall,1601minuites on pitch,7 goals,a run of 13 games scoring 1 goal(I won’t mention it was a penalty).Mike Fondop 840 minuites on pitch 8 goals( I won’t mention none of them were penalties)This is over the same timescale.If anybody on this forum can defend that record you are beyond believe.If Joe Nuttall does not show a considerable improvement in the next two games,we should be looking else where.

As far as his running is concerned it’s mostly ghost running that has absolutely no bearing on the game I can do that but I can’t play football very well.

I think the reason he isn’t caught offside very often is because he very rarely gets near the opposition back line,certainly doesn’t seem to play that type of game.His strike partners look measurably worse when they partner him than they do when they partner any of the other strikers.

Last season Nuttall scored 16 goals in over 40 league games 9 of those were penalties,that is seven from open play,add to that he rarely makes an assist,play frequently breaks down because his first touch is crap or he isn’t strong enough to hold onto it,he runs full pelt 30 yards at a goalkeeper who he must know is just going to pick the ball up when he gets close,he runs at defenders but stops short of making a challenge(he actually did make a very good challenge at Southport,but you can count them on your thumbs) I have watched Latics for 62 years and watched every game Nuttall played for us last season if he doesn’t shape up before the start of the season he needs replacing.By the way one of the goals from open play was a gift from Jordan Clarke.

Glad that at long last some of you are beginning to smell the coffee.Nuttall will be our Achilles heel this season unless Unsworth swallows some pride and gets rid.

Nuttall needs binning

Whoever Nuttall partners upfront he makes them look bad,he will be the main reason this team won’t win the league.Needs binning and a striker who holds the ball and brings other players into the game.Joe Nuttall plays for Joe Nuttall not Oldham Athletic !!!
