If I’m an “apologist”, let’s give you a name, erm , I’m struggling to find a word for “I hate everyone”.

How many players did you want to retain? You don’t fancy Mellon and now everyone with anything to do with recruitment have performed “piss poor”:

Kind of loosing credibility isn’t it?

    Who Mellon, 100%.

Call me what you want I don't care but please don't start piping shit up when a teams gone out again, been comprehensively outplayed and had their bellies tickled, again.

We are currently on our worst winless run in about 15 years. Like I said from Royle down they can all get in the bin for me because they are shit, incompetent and have little desire to succeed. A fucking embarrassment the lot of them.

  2. Just now, League one forever said:

Mellon doesn’t like youth - never has at previous clubs- just wants older heads. . .

That's served us well hasn't it. Quickly losing patience with this guy and to me he's playing a game with the club, about three of them from Thursdsy deserved to start today the rest of them were shite, he just rewards failure week after week.

Why on earth wouldn't you reward a couple of youth players with at least a spot on the bench for their efforts, mans behaving like a cock now, I hate the way he bemoans everything yet changes absolutely fuck all.

How does Norwood even start today we played infinitely better without him Thursday but somehow he strolls back in. Fucking comical management from these two who are quickly giving dumb and dumber a run for their money.

So it would be better and possibly cheaper to draw a line under it and just pay them off surely.
Are we talking about one player here or all the players he’s discarded?

If they’re not training and sat on their arse at home they’re not going to be easy to shift are they?

It saves paying out lump sums, paying them weekly is probably budgeted for and easier to absorb. With regards to Reid he was apparently already on a warning so he's a lucky boy to be picking wages up for nothing regardless of whether he is contracted.

Not seen Shelton around for weeks neither which is strange, my feeling is he probably needs a break and the club are supporting him in that, he looked fragile towards the end and I had some sympathy for him as it just didn't work out for him playing alongside Sheron.

    Having looked at the squad you'd say there are big decisions to be made over a number of first steamers who look out of Micky's plans including;

    Norman

    Shelton

    Willoughby

    Nuttall

    Ward

    Reid

That's on top of the rumours I'm hearing that some players (under contract) want out. Whichever way you look at it if these players can't be shifted they'll have to be brought back in to the fold as it's unsustainable at our level to have around 10k a week in wages going out for zero return.

You are completely ignoring the fact that most recruitment occurs in the off-season. During the season you will be lucky if teams release their “good and physically reliable” players.

Why don’t you reserve your criticism of the club in this regard until we see how they perform this summer.

Oh dear the apologist has turned up, as a 'club' they've performed piss poor in this regard since Frank walked in the door two years ago, you want to give them another summer without anybody asking a question or receiving any answers?. Something is fundamentally wrong with the recruitment of players yet we appear to be just ploughing down the same route again and again, what's changing this summer then?.

  5. We couldn't even be arsed with having a go in the FA Trophy so it's a bit rich the club moaning about a competition we'll do well to get to the third round in for some time.

I'd have been happier with a statement in regards to the car crash shit show we've witnessed the last couple of months but each to their own.

Obviously I have little (no) insight to offer on this. However, I would be interested in your answers to two questions :

    a) how ready do you think the club is for a return to the EFL?

    b) linked to the above, to what extent is this season's "failure" a potential blessing in disguise?

They are probably linked and it's no coincidence our form dropped considerably and Mellon turned Unsworth overnight when he realised he had 17 players he'd have to carry forward in to next season.

That's my opinion on it, honestly for League 2 I wouldn't be keeping more than about two players and one of them I dislike.

Saying all that you should never turn down any opportunity to progress which it looks like we have this season.

His post match last night was very revealing imho.

He knows that he is stuck with a high number of the current underperforming squad for next season.

He knows that he needs to bring in a high number of better players next season.

He knows that, in order to bring in more than the budget will allow, he has to move on a number of the contracted players.

What's revealing about that then? We've been posting that for weeks on here and pointing out our concerns, has he just realised?.

  8. 10 game winless league run is the third worst in the past 20 years and it's still going.

10/11 season under Dickov we went 12 in the League without a win and the grim Kelly/Dunn run that went on for 11 winless in 15/16.

We've been served up some right shite the last couple of decades but this latest run is right up there with the worst and the least expected, actually in 5th with games in hand with nine to play, awful.

Not a chance I'm bothering to watch that shite tomorrow in the flesh.

Booing is justified in some areas (for example, failing to score against Oxford City is definitely worthy of a boo), but I do reckon booing has just been rolled out wily-nilly since February time. That performance last night, whilst certainly not being great, didn't justify boos in my opinion. Incidentally, I was stood on the front row and didn't hear any of these supposed boos that apparently greeted Norwood's arrival.

The game was just a bit "meh". On balance of play, they probably just about shaded it, especially towards the end...

That's the weird thing draws away at Dagenham and Halifax I'd happily take particularly within the away record as a whole this season so them sort of boos I just don't get.

Booing players on needs calling out as that's about as useful to the team as that City fan who kept the ball from Modric missed penalty the other night leaving Silva stood there stewing for 30 seconds.

They've been booed off a few times at home even at half time this season which I understand particularly when the desire and effort hasn't been there. It's not for me I just normally go early and the apathy of the last decade still exists for me, I find us almost comical to watch at home at times, it's literally like watching park football.

I think we are overpriced but still struggling with us turning in to some winning machine, as for Chesterfield they must be favourites and have recruited well to an already solid squad, given the budgets we really should be slogging it out at the top end this season and I'm optimistic but still see weakness in the way we set up and approach games, we've played nobody of any note in pre season yet, been out played by all three teams for large parts of the game and still look vulnerable, still can't have us out of the top 7 regardless of whose in charge.

I wasn't too far away yet some still knocked my post.

Only about 4% of our fans predicted we would finish as low as 10th, fair play to them as I actually voted we would go up as Champions 😂

Does anybody still see this season as progress, that was banded about on here a lot a couple of months ago but I don't hear it now.

Yes, you can’t continue to boo players for no reason and expect them to care. Fans need to look at themselves as much as the players and manager.

They were shit long before the booing started.

It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation so effort is probably needed on both parts, I've got to say though this group is the most detached I've ever seen from the fans and from the outside as has been mentioned it looks like it's full of over flated egos and bad attitudes which for an older group of players is just weird.
