  1. What an embarrassment this team has become, careful though they are all husbands and fathers. They gave up weeks ago and this performance just reaffirms that.

Mellon and anyone out of contract can go for me because regardless of what backing he gets the mindset is all wrong and that starts at the top. They are actually worse than under Unsworth.

But we can't have scouted players at the time like Freeman who had injury problems.

Appears to me more like agent recommendations.

Lazy recruitment, like most things on the football side from players to staff they think it's just gonna fall in to their laps and with that mindset it isn't.

One of the biggest disappointments for me is that we haven’t had any good loanees. The loan market has served us well over the last twenty years and without it, we’d have been in the NL a lot sooner.

I am not particularly comfortable with having a team full of players on 2-3 year contracts at our level. It’s extremely high risk.

to give corney credit, he was a shrewd operator. Appears we don’t have this trait within the club anymore.

Corney was a self serving cunt who managed to find an owner for us who was within a whisker of taking us out of business, I'd give him credit for absolutely fuck all and shrewd would be one of the last words I'd use to describe him.

I mean sometimes it's good to get it out the system

But at the end of the day while the current playing staff need to take responsibility for the fall off in form in the last 2 months they are still human beings. They are peoples sons, and brothers some of them are Husbands and Dads to people. We forget that sometimes. It's not like they have intentionally gone out there and tried to lose.

I'm sure they are honest they could have done more but I'm not going to hate these players it's wasted energy and I actually feel sorry for people who do. Their are bigger problems in the world.

Fucking hell let's all jack it in then and sit there in silence at home games in case we upset someones dad or husband, never read so much tosh in all my life, maybe you should go watch crown green bowls or similar.

I'm not for booing myself, I've normally fucked off by fulltime this season but I've every sympathy for someone whose paid out another hundred or two hundred quid to follow this shower around and have to suffer what's been served up, more than entitled to have an opinion for me despite what's going on in the rest of the world.

The goals conceded by teams in this league is incredible, hardly anyone has a tight defence.

The lesson for MM next season is to go for goals rather then 7 at the back.

Worked for Chesterfield who've looked very shaky defensively to me but are happy to play two at the back in possession rather than our usual five.

Paul Cook (Chesterfield) is 57, Phil Parkinson (Wrexham) is 56. Terrible these ageing dinosaurs. Neither could be described as tactical innovators but, after being given time, got promotion.

I don't like the way Cook sets his team up either but you couldn't argue about what he's done with a squad containing not many more than 20 players.

As for Parkinson at Alty, he's been pretty well backed this season and I've been told it's not specifically him behind their upturn in form but his backroom staff, that may be total bollocks and I could be doing him an injustice but I do like the way they move the ball up the pitch and try to play despite having a potato field for a pitch.

It was a bizarre MOTM award though!

Given his pace, strength and commitment I wouldn't be surprised to see Sachdev have a decent career, but at this very early stage of it he wasn't what we needed. He was woeful.

Not disagreeing with that at all, still he had his best game for us that day and wasn't even in the matchday 16 after despite travelling which was just weird.

  8. I see Norwood took in the Morecambe v Crewe game last night, personally I don't give a fuck what the players do in their own time.

Scenes when he signs for The Shrimpers in Piergianni style in a couple of months.

Saying that we've not won in ten with him in the team so the conspiracy theorists amongst us may think it's all part of the plan, still not sure why he looks so happy maybe it's the sea air that's cheered him up.

Impossible, every manager needs a summer transfer window or they can't possibly improve anything.

Very true look at Gareshead who have about 14 players and a manager only in place since October, lost their Captain, keeper recalled sold their best players in January, they'll do well to stay up. Hold on....

It was only when I was looking at soccerbase how closely Mellon's run had mirrored DU's run from Halifax at home to the day he was sacked at Bromley. Five draws, three defeats versus four draws and three defeats.

It coincides with the day Mellon told us and the players we couldn't play football and his squad was limited and that Mellonball was the answer, turns out he was talking shite and demotivated the group to a degree that they've not won since.

Either that or it's lazy coaching.

I’ve got huge respect for Gardner after these last few games. He’s always been the best midfielder at the club, but he’s single handily tried to drag us through these last few games since Chesterfield.

Shame he’s the only source of creativity at the club.

Like I say he does it this time in the season every year, he's our best footballer at the minute but he would be one of the first I'd be getting rid of.

I'm not saying in managerial terms he's no better than Rhino...which is a pretty low bar.

He should fucking be based on his experience at lower league level.

I'm also not suggesting we should have stayed with Rhino...I've always said he should have gone way before he did.

    However I'm just being realistic.

His overall record in on par with Unsworth which is unacceptable....as Unsworths was.

All this bollocks about him having a good run before imploding is irrelevant. Rhinos record somehow was brilliant after Xmas last year which doesn't mean hes a brilliant manager!!

Mellon got us into a great position to extend the season TICK.... but couldnt get us over the line FAIL.

Also the inept performances in the FA Trophy, something we could have won, cannot be ignored.

A trip to Wembley is a nice distraction and a good revenue stream. It's not done Solihul ot Gateshead any harm has it, as they are both comfortable in the top 7 and their supporters have at least one big day out at Wembley to look forward to.

I can't be arsed to drive 30 mins to Oxford on Saterday such is our implosion.

Mellon will get the summer and beyond to turn things around...unless we lose our last 3 games which would really put the pressure on the board.

He needs to make the right decisions on signings and how we play though otherwise he will be gone by Xmas and we start again🤯

I just took a look at our home form since Mellon came in and it's a sackable in itself, I know he will get the summer and the start of next season and rightly so but we've currently won just three games from sixteen he's managed at 18.75%, take in to account two of those we failed to win were against level 8 opposition who played us off the park and it makes even grimmer reading.

    P16  W3  D7  L6  F21  A25

We haven't scored more than two in any of his home league games and kept just two clean sheet which is a pitiful return really.

He is going to be under huge pressure to get results early next season, he didn't win one of his first five at home and we currently haven't won for six and yet still we aren't completely dead and buried which is just bonkers really, problem is I don't think he will change he will just bat on in the only way he knows hoping his next half a dozen signings make the difference.

  13. This fucking pub team are ahead of us in the table and some see it as progress. Laughable situation really and they should be docked ten points for next season and threatened with being removed from the league if they can't fulfill fixtures.

It still could prove to be a crucial game and really should of been yet we may see a situation where 1800+ Latics fans miss out at nothing other than incompetence.

    Lundstram is showing green shoots.

Raglan had been dropped after a substandard start before Mellon came in, but is now probably the #1 pick at the back.

Hudson isn't everyone's cup of tea, but has made the #1 shirt his own.

Gardner (retire please) is probably playing at the top of his game - certainly better than what he was under DU.

Gardner is trying to put his usual decent half a dozen games in to bluff another contract.
