If Darren Royle wasn't related to a club legend he'd have been out on his ear months ago, he's clearly out of his depth and that's before you take in to account him undermining Shez to get his pal in the building at the start of the Rothwells tenure which to me will set us back 3 years, he's fucking useless and we are still no clearer what the 'plan' is.

He's making the football decisions so the buck stops with him, even in the last transfer window we saw the same mistakes being made and personally I'm reluctant to pump money into something I just don't feel engaged in anymore, sad that really with the opportunity we've been given but the silence out of he club and the lack of communication on so many levels is piss poor.

For me there's something fundamentally wrong with the way the business is being run day to day and until the culture changes around the place and plans are put in place for us to actually improve and progress then we will continue to struggle.

No stats system in the world would allow us to play the best part of two seasons with no recognisable rightback whilst continuing to harvest the same footed centrehalf (we had four right footed centrehalves playing across the back four last night - quite astonishing really) or a plethora of strikers who get no service, recruitment is being overseen by fucking idiots and whoever is in charge of it should be first out of the door.

At the moment we are indebted to the Rothwells money but that isn't infinite, we can't continue to run the business so poorly, it's actually amateur on so many levels and needs addressing, structurally we need an overhaul because nobody will buy in to this as it stands and trust me if this isn't resolved now it will roll in to next season.

Unbelievably we still had something to play for last night but only 380 of 1900 fans who'd bought tickets initially could be arsed and that's with only two games to play and a play off place quite incredibly still up for grabs, if that didn't make the Rothwells sit up and think then I don't know what will.

If I were them I'd rip it up and start again but unfortunately they are all in bed together when really they should be putting business before pleasure. It's a big mess and with every passing year a missed opportunity yet nothing is likely to change, apart from the crowds slowly declining - again.

Forgot to add that on top of the four right footed centrehalves we played across our back four last night we played another one in front of them in an holding midfield role so that's five players who effectively play the same position in the same team.

Talking about McGahey it was painful watching him shuffle about like a three legged hippo last night, honestly if he's the answer we are fucked, Halifax were so much more dynamic and forward thinking on the ball and made our players look like sloths at times.

I think I heard Norwood get jeered when he held the ball up out wide but then lost it because there was no one within 30 yards. Again, neatly summarising our problem - a total lack of desire from too many in the team.

But sure, let’s hound out the top scorer who makes an effort because he’s having a lean spell.

He's been shit, we looked better without him for an hour and in comparison to Garner who I'm presuming had the same poor service he was miles behind, he's scored about 10 from open play so he's hardly pulling any trees up, we've also not won a game in the last eleven he's been involved in which is some record. The fact he thinks he can bitch at everyone all the time despite being absolutely shite himself pretty much sums him up for me.

I’d suggest if we need a goal then taking off one of the 5 centre backs might give us a better chance. Then again, they’re doing such a good job of keeping us solid and tight at the back, might as well keep them on.

We'll draw where we want, We'll draw where we want, We are Oldham Athletic and we'll draw where we want.

Didn't identify we needed a RB by signing a RB?

Who should he have signed instead? Remembering that people playing very well week in week out weren't available unless you throw big money at it

They threw the money at more strikers in Garner and Dallas which was totally unnecessary when we had obvious weaknesses elsewhere.

You could be right although it’s a bit of a chicken and egg thing that for me.ive stood and sat with some idiots over the years in the stands but at some point the players/club have to deliver too.

They had no reason to not turn up when Frank came home, none at all. They probably played in front of the best home atmosphere in a decade against Kidderminster and the day had a feel good factor about it, even when behind they were encouraged but didn't have it in them to show up, you wouldn't want some of them in the trenches with you that's for sure and that 'performance' has become a bit of a norm for this bunch. Give them an excuse and they'll hide behind it.

  7. Doesn't help when you've got the manager and captain telling fans to fuck off because they get all sensitive when someone points out they've been fucking useless and cruising for the past couple of months, add Hudson and McGahey to those who've had spats with fans and it's not difficult to buy into the Micky Mellon bull that he knows what an 'Oldham Athletic' team looks like, stories about Norwood haven't gone down too well amongst the diehards as well so it's not difficult to see why there is disconnect, I suspect season ticket sales are piss poor and for me it's up to those at the club to attempt to get everyone back on board because the last two months has been car crash. I'm surprised they are taking the 700's down south because it's been awful and bad enough watching it from my living room.

For me Kitching has been one of many disappointments.  He never seems all that interested, when the opposition break he strolls back half arsed. can't kick with his right foot , can;t head a ball, and never gets a tackle in . Ok two or three times a game, he may get a cross in, but they never lead to anything . Just one of many with an attitude problem. I will be glad to see the back of him.

Agreed although it doesn't make Couto are more viable selection as some are suggesting. Fylde away he was the worse player on the pitch by a country mile, an absolutely shocking performance he's replicated with regularity since Christmas.

  9. If Couto is the answer in front of Kitching then we really are fucked, he was torn apart pre season at places like Chorley by journeyman wingers, I've not seen him play since about Christmas but don't suspect he's turned in to Roberto Carlos overnight. He's another one who points a lot without actually doing much and even though he is still relatively young I can't see him being Mellon's bag anyway.

Mellon would look pretty silly offering anyone an extension in my opinion. He’s just said in his interview that the board need to support him getting players out the door. To then offer certain players a deal would be the complete opposite of what he’s requested.

Everyone out of contract should be released, no extensions required.

Especially when some of the ones mentioned on here are shite and know nothing other than relegations. 100% agree about them all going as well as half a dozen others, it's the only way.
