Fleetwood supporting friend of mine says they have been getting around 200 for away games and said she would expect around 400-500 to make the journey.
At the end of the day, the lad just needs an arm round his shoulder and a bit of love. We can develop him and he can be our work in progress for the rest of the season like JCH. He has potential that needs unlocking and you know, the boy might play ever so well if we let him... sorry tailed off into PD there some where.
Give him the chance, obviously if fans at Leeds loved him to bits he wouldn't have been on the release list because he would have been one of their best players.
I too own this shirt. And this will be my shirt of choice for this season. Along with my Bovis one if I can still fit in it!!I got mine from toffs. Super quality
To me, through the season, a squad needs tweaks and players need the odd break to keep them at the best, if that means rotating the forwards, mids and defenders, I'm all for it.
Then again, I'm not a manager so I'm just speculating...
The basic principles are the same. To me, the game is quicker, training routines are more strenuous, overall more physically demanding.
Anyway this is all moving way away from my initial point that Forte is a great player, just needs looking after to keep getting the best out of him.
Fair do's about the strength in depth issue hence what I was saying about bringing in one more to complete a rotation policy with forwards.
Richie managed it, yes, in the 90s. Totally different game now and we are asking more of our forwards now as we don't have the same quality players across the line or mid that we had back then.
It's a novel idea to keep playing the same players and yes I agree consistency helps form, however with Forte ' s injury record and lack of games it would be stupid to ask him to play all game, every game as you suggested.
You haven't read what I have said. I'm talking prolonged period of over reliance, not immediate resting. Play a player constantly after being out for ages and you end up with a Kuqi/Abbott situation, a player that is under preforming because they are spent for playing too many minutes. Thus a spent player is an unhappy one. Look after Forte and he will be a good 'Un.
Yes he did the opposite last night but I'm talking over a prolonged number of games Bosch. If he carries on knocking 'em in, it's going to get increasingly difficult to rest him, which is great for us as a team, not so good for burn out. We need another proven scorer preferably on contract terms as the other chaps have said.
I would think Mellor's time with the first team is growing increasingly limited. I Don't think he has the mental strength to cut it at this level. Too easily beaten, too slow to react to danger, can't think of any quality passes. I always try and give younger players the time of day, like Winchester, who is looking better with every game he plays, but I think Mellor needs time elsewhere to see if he can cut it.
Agreed Matt. I think we run the risk of 'doing a Kuqi' on Forte if we rely on him heavily, particularly since he hasn't played too much football. Would prefer an actual signing as opposed to a loanee though.
