  1. Kind of like an advisor role... hmm could be worth asking if I were LJ.
  2. It would be interesting if he did, experience plus conections too... Or, a job swap??? Kind of hoping not...
  3. Can't seem to post link but it's on football league appy thing.
  4. Pleased with this one. Obviously will need a run of games, which will come in replacement of AMS. All in all a bit of a diamond in the ruff!
  5. Can see why he's asked to leave. Dropped IMHO harshly certainly on two occasions this year when we allegedly had some one better in. Best shot stopper we have had for a while. Good luck Chubs where ever you end up.
  6. Ah, that makes more sense. If it were me I would have been behind the bar, but your explanation makes it all clearer. They both did a great job!
  7. The ones in the box were brilliant, started off loads of chants, and very drunk!! The bloke sat in front of me in the green parka was brilliant too!
  8. You must. They do food too which was really good. Jumbo fish and chips! I agree with your point about standing, although we were seated for this one due to one of our party being on crutches and two OAPs. I thought we all made plenty of noise!
  9. The Strawberry Gardens pub about 5 mins walk from the ground. Really friendly with loads of real ale. Apparently he owns and runs it!
  10. Just got home in one piece, just! How bad was the motor way near Bolton? And to cap it off, almost ruined my car getting back onto my street! What a great result, industrious to the end. Poleon looked like he wanted to take his chance with both hands, full of running, just needs a goal now. Morgan Smith looked OK too. MOM for me was Winchester. Good in the tackle, excellent work rate and a super strike. Special mention to the Fleetwood fans, stewards and police, all very reasonable people. Can't wait to go back next year. (Hopefully when it's not snowing!) Oh and to fully make the day, being served dinner by Sid Little... Legend!!
  11. I'd have to agree. As much as the whole thing has been a PR disaster, it would be more of a disaster if we lost our major share holder who has stuck around no matter what has happened to the club. We need something positive out of all this so keeping continuity is key to keeping us on the right track, starting with Corney staying and three points on Saturday.
  12. I think we need a clearance sale first as well as a review of loan players. I would most certainly be OK with Daniel Johnson going back as to be fair he hasn't done much apart from that first game. Big Iby has done well, but isn't a scorer, however has a good understanding with Forte so could still be an asset to keep. Winchester is always a useful player to have in the squad but that is all he is, a squad player. Players to ship out for me either on loan or permanent are the likes of Dayton, Morgan Smith, Poleon, Tidser and Mellor. The question is... who can we sign that are better than we already have, that is permanent signings, not loans?
  13. Agreed O4U. Have a feeling that the negative 'bollocking' of recent weeks has got us into this lull. Positivity is needed now.
  14. Dear oh dear. Expected a tough game, Possibly a deafeat, but 7-0. I don't care who we are playing, that is totally unexep table. My brother in law said to me the rochdale game would be the highlight of our season. I laughed at him... looking like he could be right.
  15. I'm blaming my families acquisition of the oldham athletic christmas jumpers. Two games attended wearing them, Two defeats with no goals scored. Back in the wardrobe they go...
  16. It was the first home shirt I bought with my own hard earned spends from working for Pittense at my Dad's garden centre! I still wear it and hasn't fallen apart like more recent efforts!
  17. I think SC and LJ's reaction to the cup games is more based on frustration in not being able to add to the squad plus finish the new stand. I worry about the club's commercial side taking over in selling players to complete the later, rather than focusing on the staffing side for the new year. Judging by the distinct lack of action on the new stand in the last few month, I fear that the anticipation on progressing on the cup competitions held hopes of finances to complete the stand and now we may look to sell players to complete the building work. I hope I am wrong though...
  18. Pleased with this one. As pretty much everyone has said, can't see him bagging loads but if he can hustle and create for others it's well worth while. We are beginning to look like a solid, experienced side without 'luxury' players that all work hard, ie we don't seem to be relying on any one player too much (Forte withstanding). Very similar to Leyton Orient of last year and they did ok...
  19. I think bringing someone in with the experience is needed if to give the young'uns something to look up to, ie someone who has been there and done it. I definitely think it needs to be a CF though and not someone who is a full back-come-forward, otherwise I feel that it leads us to being a hoofball team as opposed to a footballing side.
  20. IMHO, we havn't seen enough of the three players, Turner, Bove or Wilkinson at first team level yet to say if any of them are a diamond in the ruff. For me, the loan of Wilkinson is set to give extra options in terms of a striker which, given our goal drought I can only see as a good thing, however... If Bove or Turner were good enough now, LJ wouldn't have needed Wilkinson and we wouldn't have needed to discuss it, however there must be an underlying reason that has made LJ weigh up other players to move up the pecking order ahead of players like Bove and Turner. They mustn't be what we need at this moment in time. Should we then be looking at loaning both of these two out to give them a decent run of games? I'm not totally sure if this is the definitive way of doing things. I agree in some respect what LJ has done in bringing Wilkinson in, because, in theory he has probably had a better standard of training, and has mingled with players of a higher calibre in terms of day in day out training and has probably come up against better opponents, but all in all I feel our own youngsters need a crack at the wip first, with something to prove rather than have a loanee youngster starting who is as untried and untested as what we have on the bench already. We seem scared to give our younger lads a go. Do you all think it's because of being scared to be wrong about a player or do you think LJ feels we can't afford to give them a chance because we might drop points?
