  1. I do find the views that clubs like Burton and Brentford, as two examples, are a damning statement to back up the fact that we have been run into the ground a little odd.

In the last 18 years we have remained stable in League One with arguably slightly more flirts with the play-offs, than relegation battles. This season looks like a tough one don't get me wrong, but less than a year ago we were considering ourselves play-off contenders.

We have not particularly got better or worse, other teams have moved past us. Some upwards, some downwards.

I am sure Pompey, Luton, Tranmere, Stockport, Notts County, Macclesfield, Lincoln, Torquay, Oxford United - mostly teams that I have played at the same level or higher levels than us over the years probably feel that they have been run into the ground.

When we got promoted to the First Division and then Premier League I am sure supporters of Cardiff, Hull Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Burnley, Fulham, Reading, Swansea, West Brom, Stoke, Sunderland, Birmingham, Watford, Wolves, Leicester, Newcastle, West Ham, Palace, Middlesborough and Forest were thinking similar feelings when looking at the League Tables and seeing 'little Oldham' above them.

Football in its league format is the ultimate meritocracy. Its what makes the game so engaging.

This is a great point. But the people it is aimed at have made their mind up and cannot see both sides of the argument. They're not open to looking at different perspectives

  2.

'Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.'

I think Emerson was saying, debate the opinion - the idea - rather than attacking the person.

I'm saying cool off or you're gone.

Or we could debate my opinion of him and his incessant spouting of what, in my opinion, is :censored:

  3.

It's not just cock ups though is it? Corney deliberately withheld the information and then used that money against the new stand, that's disingenuous at best, as is the fact that the car park revenue doesn't go to the club but to a company owned in part by him. If Corney truly had the best interests of OAFC at heart he wouldn't have been so evasive, he would be actively informing supporters of his actions mistakes and all, which if he had would've gained him a lot of goodwill, I don't think anyone would slate him for making honest mistakes. Instead we get disinformation and no information, at least finally more fans are waking up to the fact that we're being royally screwed over.

You repeatedly slate him for honest mistakes. Boring

  4. To be fair your 5,6,7 responses could have been used for all your responses. "obviously thought it would work"

And that's a total apologist approach. There's a whole batch of issues and you just apathetically let it all go.

Honest mistakes. Why are they being battered for them? How many business decisions are made thinking there's no chance this will work? Some jokers here

  5.

    Seriously?

That explains everything then, all these angry and pissed off fans are angry and pissed off for no reason at all lol.

I always wondered if there was more to you than just giving out abuse, you're the asset strippers apologist in chief. Nice one.

So you're saying that they deliberately went out of their way to lie purposely and knowingly to the fans? Or more likely do you think they believed things would be ready and were probably quite pissed off themselves when they couldn't have it ready? They haven't profited from it not being open on time. Some absolute clowns on here and you're up there with the biggest. I'll refrain from using the word I normally do to describe you. That opinion still stands. C U Next Tuesday

  6. So has anyone who is seriously concerned tried to do anything?

Have you contacted the trust? Attended trust meetings to try get something sorted? Have you e-mailed Corney asking whether the previous offer to see the books is still open? Have you tried to set up some form of supporters association to try get answers? Maybe even a protest that has a targeted objective and a set plan to achieve this objective?

Or are you still spouting the same argument from behind a keyboard for however many months and years whilst doing jack :censored: about it and continuing to moan about no answers?

I'm not defending the club here, no doubt there has been poor decisions and management from those at the top. Clearly some stuff is unclear. But if you really want answers, then do something about it. Keep saying the same stuff on here won't change a thing.

Course they haven't done any of that. Jokers the lot of them

  7.

The furore is not just for a undisclosed transfer fee, it is for a accumulation of events

    1 Moving to Failsworth

    2 Three stands

3 Finance was in place for the new stand/ obviously not true

4 Numerous false promises when the stand would be completed then a total lack of communication?

5 Appointing DH when we have a chance of the play offs still

6 Appointing DK with no experience

7 Appointing DD with no experience

8 Promise of funds for JS

9 We the supporters belief we would see some of the sell on clause for player recruitment, then to find out it as already been cashed in

I'm sure their is more i have missed, so i can understand the furore to a degree.

    1. Never happened thankfully

    2. If you never go to 3 you won't have a new one

3.I believe it was but if I'm right the plans were changed to make it bigger and better

    4. Things happen. No matter who is to blame. Things go wrong. The promises they made about when it would open were obviously genuine ones.

    5. Obviously thought he was good enough.

    6. Worked ok with LJ

    7. As much as I hated him, worked ok with LJ

    8. He's brought in the CB everyone was crying out for plus extended Dummigan to end of season. Also brought Palmer in albeit temporary for now. Also free agents we can sign for a striker. 2 out of 3 positions he wanted he has and we haven't definitely not signed a new striker

    9. How do you know the money cashed in hasn't gone to Gerrard wage and a potential striker?

  8. As I pay BT for my internet and Sky TV I'm going to start a thread where like minded people demand to know things like how much compensation was received from Valencia for Gary Nevilles appointment. I also want to know what the accounts say with regards to that boring get Michael Owen and his wages. Unless I get that information I will boycott watching sky sports that I am already paying for. Anyone joining me? Didn't think so

  9.

Good job he's a legend then cos if it was the previous manager he'd be hung drawn and quartered for saying it. Not that he would've cos whatever else he was he wasn;t a yes-man.

Ah you mean the last bloke who said we needed a CB desperately and did nothing about it. Unlike sheridan who had one in within how long? Dunn was full of :censored: and I wouldn't trust him to pick an outfit from my wardrobe never mind players to keep this club up. If sheridan says he is happy then that's good enough for me. If we go down then people can say he's wrong. Till then do us all a favour and shhh. You have an unhealthy obsession with Dunn. You turn most of your comments on this forum towards licking his arse
